Im trying to create a place for a DJ that he/she can just put in a url and it will play the music from the prim (the place that the DJ will be playing is in a skybox so llSetParcelMusicURL is not really applicable). The standard media on a prim (like how you would use for TVs) doesnt seem to work for audio. Is there anyway to play an audio URL (taken from a notecard) on a prim? Im not finding any applicable commands in the wiki.

I suspect there's a way to embed the audio stream URL in some javascript and use that as the media-on-a-prim, but unless somebody has actually done it, that would take some investigation, trial and error, and a real chance of failure.

A different approach that almost surely would work would be to use an audio stream for the agent-specific version of parcel media, PARCEL_MEDIA_COMMAND _AGENT. Your script would need to determine which agents are in the skybox and therefore eligible for that media stream.

Of course, they'd also need to enable media on their viewer, as they would for MoaP, and that's always less popular than good ol' parcel audio.

If using a version 4.x viewer (LL or TPV) then you might not have the CEF (Chromium) Flash player installed correctly

A discussion on how to do this is here:   https://community.secondlife.com/t5/Second-Life-Viewer/4-0-0-308641-media-audio-no-go/td-p/2986882

The Adobe link in the discussion will take you to CEF flash players for other OS
