What causes a broken link in inventory?

Deleteing an object that was used as part of an outfit.  Outfits do not contain the various dresses, pants, hair, shoes, and all the other things that at listed there.  They only contain links to items that are somewhere else in your inventory.  If you delete one of them, the links to it in all of your outfits will be broken.

Rolig is right about how they happen.

To clean things up, search for "broken link" in your inventory and delete any you find.  Put on that outfit(s) and replace the now-missing item with something else, if needed.  Save the outfit.
