dragging objects ends up wearing the object, try 10 times

Is this SL cause I have dragged objects to my land before last 2 days I have dragged an item ends up wearing it, dragging the LM to a notice sends me to my landing point, have had to drag it very very fast

Usually dragging from your inventory "slowly" to the location in-world you want to rezz something does the trick. Dragging fast and letting the object go before the screen has shown you the in-world position pointer prompt is the way you end up wearing the object. If your SL session is experiencing a lot of lag, you may need to wait a long time before releasing the object.

Also do a Ctrl-Alt-T - to see if you are wearing a large transparent & phantom texture. That will interfere with your drag & drop activity.
