Why do things go missing in my inventory and its not in lost and found? Will I get it back?

Aside from the recent no login issue that I'm having previously my items will only show the folder and not my Item. The problem I am having is, when I picked it up I had it in the designated folder it was in. Recently tried searching for it, found the folder but no item. Even checked my lost and found. And even the trash. It disappeared, how can I get it back and why is it missing?

As a side note, items can be removed if they are found to be forgeries by one of the teams at Linden Labs that look for such things.
