How do i add a profile picture?

I am new and was wondering how to add a profile picture for my account, since I see other players have a profile picture.

it depends on what viewer you're using.  If you have the standard viewer (downloaded from these pages) then right click yourself, select Profile, and click the Gear icon to edit it.

Oh, you'll want to take the picture first!  Use the Snapshot tool to take a nice picture of your avatar.  If you want, there are lots of free photo studios in SL that offer lighting, backgrounds, and poses.  Just search "photo studio" in Places.

One way to go about it is to while in world click the camera/snapshot icon to take a pic and choose save to disk this will avoid a L$10 fee to save to your inventory then go on to the web to your my.secondlife.com page go to your feed click edit profile you will be given an option to upload a profile pic simply choose the image you want from your computer and it will be added to your profile
