My mic is not working

so im using latest sl viewer and my mic is not working it gives me error and says me to check firewall and i have turn it off and still didnt work idk how to fix it ive googled it but nothing works what should i do?

Few issues with this post.

1. Linden Labs doesn't read this nor care about this issue.

2. Linden Labs didn't even make their voice system, they used a 3rd party company for it so issues are expected.

First off, does it work for other programs?  You can use Skype and even if you don't talk to someone else, just make sure the mic is working by going through its setup.

 

When you are prompted about the firewall, be sure to allow an exception. 

Next, when in world, can you turn on voice chat?  If you can, do you see the white dots above peoples heads?

Finally, there are a lot of steps which could go wrong.  Be sure to have a look through the wiki page so that all the setting are correct.

I had this issue also and got this back 

 

short-term outage with our voice provider, rather than an issue with the region itself. The outage has been resolved, Have a great weekend!
