Desktop suggestions for SL. Any price range, please. Windows 7 preferred.

Evening, all.

I need some suggestions for a new desktop that can run SL.

It will also double as my work computer which is also another reason it needs to be a steller system.

SL is the only game I can think of that needs strong requirements for video and sound card. I miss playing. It's been several years.

Any price range, but obviously money is still some sort of object. :)

Must be Windows 7-based though.

There are so many new pc names out there since the last time I researched. I tend to keep my laptops forever.

Brand names, just forget about them when it comes to desktop computers.

Go to the nearest  computer stores, tell them what you want to do with your new computer and have make you an offer for a custom built machine, especially if you need to use Win7. If you're a litte tech savvy or have a friend who is, you can even build a desktop machine from components. That's not much  harder than assembling something from LEGO.

I roughly followed her build. But I went with a core i7m and at first got a gtx760 which was great, then got the gtx970, which isn't really any faster in SL than the 760, but runs way, way cooler. 16g of ram and a regular hard drive, didn't want to eat up extra money for the SSD. win 7 pro

Altogether my system cost about 1400, and I consider it pretty smoking fast
