" Where exactly is Linden Labs drawing the line between bestiality and furries? "
I have a giant 8 foot spider that does very naughty things. I'd love to see someone quote me the RL law that says one cannot be naughty with a spider.......
Judge : " Miss Vuckovic...you are hereby charged with the heinous crime of Arachnid-iality. Statute 6785 on the California statute books says rumpy pumpy with 8 foot spiders is illegal ! "
Me : " But your honour, if everything make believe is now illegal.......shouldn't your Governor in this state be charged with going back in time, blasting a bunch of people to death, stalking a poor defenceless woman, shooting several police officers, stealing several cars, vandalising a lot of property, and generally wrecking half the state ? My first encounter on sl of beastiality was back 3 years ago, a avatar living on the same sim used to hire escorts to come have sex with his sexdog. It was disgusting to me then, but the escorts seemed to enjoy it.. (shouts from them confirmed) then, I opened a small sim and make guiet little spots for people to cuddle in. One day, and this was about 9 months ago there were 2 furry cats, neko I guess? so they were partaking of more ivolved poseballs than cuddling.. It got me to thinking, why is this neko sex ok but not the other twisted act? Well, I didnt boot or ban the neko couple, so I myself have a double standard I suppose on what I "can" deal with and what I can't. I look at it as they are actually the animal they are wearing and who am I to judge their "my world my Imagination" but that other dude ... i still get the creeps when I think about it.. Oh btw.. I heard he got banned for his efforts. ARd by an escort.

This doesn't need gratuitous insults.
It does depend a bit where you are in the world. Some countries have real laws which don't distinguish between pictures of reality and, for instance, a screen-cap from SL. That could quickly get nasty, whether we're talking human-human activity or furries. And furries are so blatantly unreal that, whatever you might think of the people who use such AVs, somebody who can't see that, somebody who treats them as something real, arguably has a tenuous grasp on reality. Should we accept such people in the legislature, the judiciary, or law enforcement?
On SL all we have is the mostly hidden activities of LL to enforce the TOS. They have to cope with the same potentially idiotic system of laws and enforcement, so I can cut them some slack. That doesn't mean I can trust them, because so much is hidden.

Perhaps they read the dictionary - as did I - and drew the line that way?
4. sexual relations between a person and an animal; sodomy.
That is what I have found (in several places) as a definition. Since "Furry Sex" implies an act of a sexual nature between two (role playing) avatar animals - not a human and an animal - it wouldn't be called bestiality. It would be called bestiality if it were an act between a Furry and a human.
Simply having sex in a Furry - obviously - isn't an issue all by itself. since there's nothing about simply possessing and using a Furry avatar that states one must act upon a human in a sexual way. The same guidelines - between two Furries - seem to apply as if it were two humans.
I'd suspect that the lines drawn also considers acts depicted in a forum in which it is publicly-accessible. Meaning: "Sure you can have sex between a human and Furry, but don't sell a video - or depict it somehow - and sell it on XStreet" or "If you're going to perform sexual acts between human and Furry, do so at home where others cannot observe it".

Why are a pair of boots I made considered adult? They have no nipples, twat, or shlong. They have nothing sexual about them at all. They do not mount anyone or do anything to anyone. They don't even have any scripts in them other than invisiprims.
Yet some apparent extremist that used to be employed at xstrteet before the acquisition decided they werre adult because of something. There is not even an FCC banned word involved.
Maybe the boots made that person all sexually flustered just by looking at them and therefore must have mistaken a pair of boots as a sexual device.
They were probably remembering the problem with teleporting and ending up with your shoes in your butt at one time. I always figured people found that somewhat unpleasant. You bring some light to that thought and now I suppose people could have gotten some sexual satisfaction out of that glitch.

I can't help but reflect that Scylla had a couple of BDSM titled threads taken down because it was presumed that the titles were bad PR for LL. Yet this thread title would not seem to have received the same level of censure. Strange world, strange world.
I'm not saying this should be taken down btw, just to be clear.

I think Unk is right on this, it is not illegal to buy a Bong to smoke Marijuana in because you could be getting it to smoke tobacco, hence the item itself isn't the offending act, but what its used for after purchase. So the prim dog with sex animation, could be bought just for decoration and not a sexual act, but a book with pictures of the act itself would break the THIN line of "plausible deniability". I still think its splitting hairs. I don't see how something you can buy "In world" wouldn't be allowed on Xstreet.

First let me say this that the term 'Furries' is to some a broad area term. Now that being said I have been told several times that seeing that I tend to be a demon or lycan myself that in both cases LL sees me in the term a furry. The fact that they sensor only what to us is critiqued or reported shows that they are not looking into the matter. I have a friend that had her line of Neko tails taken down as they were listed having Adult emotes now this was placed in the Adult content but yet they were removed from SLX. LL has for long time tried to get rid of the 'Furry' community in various stages and this has caused anger now they are going after the various kinks of people as i said i am at times a lycan or a demon but i am mostly human as well in SL. Sl was also created in general to create a world were we can come and be ourselves with a twist.. it was advertised so much and still is as a place were one can come and create themselves in anyway that they wish. I do not see a issue with a sim being adult mind you that is about a lycan or other fantasy creature and a human as to me that is just that FANTASY. If one is to cast a stone then they REALLY need to look deep inside themselves and ask "DO i really believe that i am without blame or kinks? Now i do see the point of not letting it be on SLX as its not that hard to sensor those that are not mature enough to handle things of the nature as is evidenced by the reports that are sent in.. to me one person that will send a AR for just saying no or refusing a friend request is one and the same to one that will send a AR for a item or sim that does not restrict a werewolf/minotaur/neko/furry from having relations with a human in rl .. if LL wishes to enforce rules like this in SLX then I will 1.) not purchase or use it as i said i am classes in the furry side in their eyes and 2.) they REALLY need to stop the double standards.
Now i know that i only touched a fraction of what is covered on this blog but i am serious in saying LL is not living up to their ads or promises to us so far in this area with the advent of the introduction of age verification (*PG, Mature, Adult)
