Trying to divide my sim

Hi

I have done a search but can't find my issue.

I am renting a sim, and want to divide it in half in order to create a parcel to rent out. I need to be able to cam out high in order to select enough land, but when I cam out, I can't select land. I thought maybe when I was close, and selecting land, I could edit the selected area to change, but it only starts the selection over. 

I'm not sure if I am explaianing this well, but I appreciate y'all's help.

I'm using Firestorm on a Mac if that makes a difference.

if you type "dd 1024" into chat (without brackets) first you should be ok. However the yellow line can be hard to see, if you go outside your sim the whole thing stops working.

I normally do it in chunks.

Make two 64x1x1 prims and put them at the cut line, then cut out 4096 or 12,000 or whatever chunks and join them together. (selct both and join, like linking prims the last selected becomes to root parcel)

This method is hell on the simulator memory, the Lab have a long running memory leak, but reboot the sim after and you are fine.
