Main channel has the most stable version of sl software the others, a lot less servers using it, are running the software that is tested to be next most stable version of SL often with repaired bugs and newer development. in most cases It totally makes no difference where you'r on, average user will not see any difference. It's extremely rare you notice any difference at all though. It won't happen every year and when it does, it only lasts for a few days - a week at most. Apart from the later rolling restarts, it tends to be the first of the RC channels to get new test server builds, and if there's a problem with said build, often we'll have to wait till the builds been rolled out and caused problems on Bluesteel and Magnum before it gets fixed, sometimes they roll out on the 3 Rc channels at 2 week intervals, so it can be 8 weeks before they fix something... Sometimes you can get either worrying messages or even problems moving from an RC channel sim to a sim on a different RC or on Main, due to different versions of the server code, that can make life...
