My favorites are the ones that ask for a job that will let them earn a lot of $Ls fast.  I also like when they ask for a job and don't say a word about what experience or qualifications they have.

And those who announce they have no skills, no plans to develop any, can't commit to showing up at a certain time or working a certain amount, and have no experience doing anything. But want to be paid well.

While I'm tapping my foot and dep dep dep dep dep'ing, I'll say that I don't mind people posting "I need a job. I don't know anything, but I'm eager to learn and I'll work hard." I remember how clueless I was when I first arrived here (or anywhere for that matter). I do wonder if some of those people wouldn't be far better off searching for work in RL so they could buy Lindens, but even I wanted to "earn my way" in the early days. If you want to immerse yourself here, working works.

I am not impressed by those who say "I want to make big money." As in RL, wanting to do good work is more likely to make you big money than wanting big money. And it's also more likely to make small money feel like big money, which is a precious gift that many of us lose over time.

Because, like >99% of those who participate in SL, they are stupid and want to display their real-world handicap in a virtual public place.

Which does tend to suggest that the great majority of SLers are unconscious BDSMers specialising in masochism, wishing to be harangued for their inadequacies by a few consciously sadistic and literate participants.

I think it's because they have no clue how to go to a sim and click on the job aplication form. So they post here hoping someone will respond. I always try and remember what it was like to be new. One thing I found out early on is most jobs are club based. Most clubs don't hire anyone under 30 to 60 days old. That said We all wanted to have L$ of outr own. I still enjoy working for everything i get in world. There is just some great satisfaction about that vs buying L$ with real $.

I think especially the new users think of jobs in SL in the same way as finding their sim in the Sims a job. Like a build-in game feature, something that you need and that you get very simple.

The do not notice that there has to be another user who first needs to think that they are good for the job. So they are not even trying to advertise themself proplery and just expect the job to come to them.
