A few years back, I started dabbling in poems.  I don't think they are very good, but I do enjoy writing them.  I would test them out on my Lady, and send her one or two a week.  Here is one of them.  I hope you enjoy!

SCRIPTED LOVE

With AO on, I walk behind your washed up footsteps.
In a land of no lag, with every step I make trying to turn back time
Beautiful particles streaming all around but now the sand has it captive.
I start a private chat with you and cry out, I miss you, I need you, I want you.
this sandy surrealistic and fully textured  beach holds our life, our love, our being.
the Second Life wind blowing gently around your lovely Avatar
stirs a passion in me like no other can achieve.
I sit waiting for you on my pose ball.
I still hear you, I still feel you.
the multi colored and animated waves wash my tears.
You IM me, sweetly texting me.  "Is everything ok?"
I set my graphics to ultra and cam out over the waves
Far down the sculpti filled shore
I see your footsteps in the sand.
And down the crimson animated shore
I see you standing, swaying to some unknown animation.
I cry out to you! "Let me animate your avatar!.  Sit on my pose
and let me hold ya close."
I'm no longer scared,
I'm no longer alone
I feel you.  You feel me too.
In my heart, my mind, and my spirit
I feel you, I feel you, I love you.
LOL.  Okay!  Come on all of you poets!  Show us what you got!!
Peace!

What a nice idea Hippie! Your poem is very sweet. I wish I could write good enough in English to do poetry, but it is actually hard enough for me to do it in French...:smileywink:

Thank you Val!  I am not very good, but I do enjoy writing them!  Would love to see one of your poems too!

Peace!

I wrote a poem about SL back in 2006 or '07. Some things are no longer up to date, and it's only borderline PG at best, but I'll post it anyway:

There is a lot that can be done,
at least if you're open-minded,
in Second Life by anyone.
So have a look and don't be blinded
by the hookers and the gamble,
all that sex and games of luck;
leave the welcome area scramble,
you don't need to spend a buck.

You can watch the furries sniffing
at each others rearer parts,
which is a prelude to yiffing,
one of the finer furry arts.
You may also want to inspect
one of the gorean sims,
where a slave is just an object
to be tortured like the prims.

You can also visit schools
to learn what ageplay is about,
and no, it's not against the rules
to wear some rompers; try it out!
The Wikipedia helps translate
the words you never heard before;
a useful tool, at any rate,
to make sense of "dolcett" and "vore".

There are so many things to mention,
I can't remember all the rest.
I'm sure there's much that's worth attention,
you will find out what you like best.
So, venture out and meet the portly
mid-aged trucker of your dreams;
on the grid he's cute and courtly
and member of the woman teams.

In a vast universe of ideas,

images and sounds,

a humble link was hidden

offering a second life.

It was more than it offered,

a chance to go beyond,

a planet made by lindens,

the workers of the Lab.

Expressions there are colorful,

from furries and vamps,

to tinies, fairies and children,

all getting along fine.

In constant trasformation,

every day has a surprise,

an advanced civilization

with education, merchants and arts.

I decided to live here,

it is my paradise,

I'm organically integrated,

I am my avatar.

The only poem I wrote for Second Life is more of a chant than a poem.

Play, play, play all day

Make the real world go away

Go away and let me play

SL is where I want to stay

Ahh!  So good!  Thanks for sharing your poem!

Peace!

I wrote this poem for mypicks, because I found so many broken souls on second life, who in turn go on to hurt and break others. I wanted to send a message out that it didn't need to be this way, that we could lift people up, instead of tearing them down.

Broken souls
in a broken world
seek out a life
of second hope

where dreams fulfilled
create a spark
of wanton lies
and brazen folk

yet there is hope
among these folk
if but they choose to see

that life should never be a joke
and every soul
should breath.
