No sound effects or gesture sounds.

OK can some1 plz help me, i have no sound effects or gesture sounds for 2 weeks now, i can get music and voice though. I clicked and unclicked every button i can see and done all the usual stuff clearing cache ect ect.

I am at a loss and gonna rip my hair out lol.

Im using phoenix viewer if that helps anyone.

just to get it out of the way..you do have the volume for sound effects turned up?

Go to Preferences → Sound & Media and check that you have the Sounds and UI sliders up high enough and that there is no mute symbol (red no entry sign) on the speaker icon next to those.

yeah they are full and all available, made sure all voice, sound and communitcations are active but i still get nothin

thats what i was looking at but i couldnt see anythin about sound, just wandering if any1 else had the same problem and could tell me how to fix it, i have even re-installed the thing but nothin

Voice and streaming media are handled by different servers than the ones that control ambient sounds and everything else, so it's understandable that they might behave differently for you.  If you're on a PC, open Control Panel >> Sounds & Audio Devices Properties >> Audio  and be sure that the slider and switches there are all turned ON and that you have volume.  You might actually have a separate panel in your Control Panel that handles all sound controls (I do.  Mine is called IDT Audio Control Panel.)  If so, you'll be able to see how your PC is handling each of the different sound systems separately.

if you are using phoenix, make sure you specify a valid folder for sounds.... I got caught out by that on a clean install once... it prevents UI and basic inworld sounds like gestures from being heard if it is not set.

Yep everythin with sound on my laptop is working fine, im gonna try and download a different viewer to see if it is a problem with phoenix on my system

viewer 2 is fine, but ty i think it is the sound folder so gonna try and mess with that, ty every1 for ur help much appreciated.
