I returned to Second Life after a time away.  I previously bought homes but decided to do teh free Linden Home option.  I notice that the home has a streaming readio station but have not found the control.  It does not appear to be set on the land and it is specific to the house.  Any advice regarding how to chenge this?

On the top of your screen Under world go to parcel details. Once you find it click on sound and clear the music URL. from there you can add your preferred url or just leave it blank. If you dont have or know which url you want to use You can always pick up a radio for free off the marketplace and easily switch back and forth between stations.

Lindy is correct. The Sound URL is the option you use to set your parcels [Linden Mainland or elsewhere] sound choice.

Additionally...

Take a look at www.shoutcast.com to id stations that are playing content you want to hear.

Then Lets say you want Nature Sounds...

Go to

http://www.shoutcast.com/radio/Nature

Pick any MP3** stream link and right-mouse click on it. Select the Save target as... ????.pls to your desktop. Open it with any text editor. Inside you will see something like the following:

[playlist] numberofentries=1 File1=http://88.80.200.195:8000 Title1=(#1 - 13/80) stream.silent.li organic relax radio: nature sounds Length1=-1 Version=2

The Land URLs is the http://....at File=1

In this example http://88.80.200.195:8000

Good Listening to you!

P.S. ** It's important that you pick a station broadcasting streaming MP3 because the FMOD service that comes with SL only recognizes and supports this method. :D

If you followed Lindy's description and can't get it to work, there are two possibilities:

One is that you are trying to use a regular web address for sound streaming. That doesn't work, media streams are a bti different from regular web sites. Try some of the stations in the list Karen Michelle suggested. Even if you don't find one you like there, at least you can see if it works at all.

The other possibility is that somebody else has a Media-on-a-Prim player in their house transmitting across the whole sim. If that is the case, the only solution si to try to locate it and block it.
