Our Editorial Team (who curates the Destination Guide) is seeing some mighty fine places here. Alas, I've noticed threads where a place is named without a SLurl — that's a direct link to a Second Life inworld location. You want people to come visit, right? So make it easy and include a SLurl!

SLurls are integrated into Viewer 2.x. Here's a quick video that shows you exactly how to use this:

Learn more about SLurls in our Knowledge Base.

For bonus points, you can include pictures of a pretty place in your post. Since Second Life is visual, a picture can determine whether someone's curious enough to click through. When making a post, click the Insert/edit image button on the toolbar (it looks like a little tree), then select an image to upload. Voila! Your post has gone from decent to delightful in minutes.

I found this few days ago when trying to find my customer. Its sure bit scary but anyway amazing work;)

Not sure if this already been in Destination Guide but it really is worth it.

And not any kind of advertisement at all as there unfortunately is not any shops..only maybe hidden free cool things:)

Teleports to other levels near landing point.

Keep music also on..even more scary:p

The 1920s Berlin Project on a foggy day ;)

On the right Station Berlin Alexanderplatz and on the left at the end the only (as far as I know) scale 1:1 replica of the brandenburger gate, crowning the famous Unter den Linden street.

Avoid the backstreets, they are smelly, people with ill repute everywhere. ;)

OMGORGEOUS examples in here!

I've been building out Torley island... I find myself inspired by a mixture of minimalist mechanics + asymmetrical organicity. I was SO into it the other day while rezzing prims to the TRON: Legacy soundtrack. Come on over!

Marianne, it's been awhile since I used Picnik — I found it so fun and nicely integrated, although since they've been acquired by Google, I hope that doesn't take them away from Yahoo-owned Flickr.

Neverwhere. A dark adult roleplay sim. http://secondlife.com/destination/neverwhere

They do have "Observer" titlers at the entrance, so it's not a problem to visit and only look as long as you are over 18. Amazing build. Remember to go underwater too.  If I get land again and decide to build a tropical forest, I will go to Neverwhere and inspect the plants, to find the creator. @ Torley.

Nice thread & tutorial video. It makes me think, though, that a fun additon to the LL viewer would be a "Create Postcard" option. As you say, SL is largely a visual experience., so if we could send postcard images with an attached SLURL to our Facebook page, that might get more people interested in visiting this amazing world.

ETA

p.s. On second thought, some people might send naughty pictures for their postcards (imagining hentai scene). Maybe not such a good idea afterall.

The newly rebuilt Crack Den ... an urban RP community spanning over 6 sims .. backdrop set to a fictional city near New Orleans on the Louisiana coast line ... still recovering from Hurricane Katrina and a few fictional hurricanes that were role-played out over the past several years by the community.
