not receiving offline messages to my email

I am getting group notices, messages from my meeroos and a few sl generated messages but no messages from other avatars and i know i should have some, very sad because a friend has left sl and i am sure she would have left me a message before departing is ther any way i can retrive these messages that didnt come through to emails or appear when i logged on due to having my messages capped ?

I'm sorry, you can't recover lost IMs.

I'm not sure why your IMs are not going to your email, either, unless it's because of the message cap.

Hi Shelli,

The failure of IM messages to forward to e-mail is a known problem affecting primarily Yahoo accounts. Yahoo is apparently blocking some SL server addresses, from which the IMs are forwarded. If you are a Yahoo user, the only solution I've heard of is to create a gmail (or other) account and change your LL e-mail address to that. Then forward all gmail mail back to your Yahoo account.

Have you checked your spam filter?  Also, look under the Social tab if you are using Gmail.

And just to double check, go to your accont's dashboard and check under email setting and make sure the option is checked to receive IM emails.
