I would reset your router and or modem. Both if you have them . Sometimes things get clogged up in routers. Specially when using a wireless router. My wife uses wireless but doesn't have that much problems tho. . A lot of times it can also be an attachment. Or too many attachments. . But I have a lot of luck simply clearing my cache and finding a folder with a different shape and outfit in it Then right click that folder and replace outfit. Also make sure you aren't always on the same region trying to fix things. Sometimes there could be just a bad ping between you and the server/region you are on and it can cause havoc .

I like to keep saved outfits with different shapes so I can quickly fix this when it occurs

Character Test is one of the last things to  try when you are ruthed, not the first thing.  In almost all cases, it's way overkill for solving the problem. As others have suggested, see a full list of possibilities here >>> http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/doku.php?id=fs_bake_fail . Start with the simple things at the top of the list and work down until you find what works for you today.

You may find that the bake fail problem comes back repeatedly, even after you fix it with one of the suggestions on that wiki page. Frankly, if you have tried a character test and it hasn't worked, you are probably at that stage already. If so, you have a chronically weak Internet connection. There are many steps to take for repairing it. Perhaps the simplest ones -- ones that work best for most people -- are: (1) Don't Use WIRELESS. Wireless connections are inherently less stable than direct cable connections and are more vulnerable to interference. Then, (2) Reboot your router. Unplug it from the power for a few minutes to let it clear its RAM. Then plug it back in and let it get a fresh hold on an IP address.  If even that does not work, spend some time reading Nalates's blog for other suggestions about improving your connection >>> http://blog.nalates.net/2011/10/26/troubleshoot-your-sl-connection/
