SYNOPSIS of Burnal Equinox, the event

As we approach the moment when nights and days are of equal length, on the point of a season change, that moment, suspended, is a moment of balance achieved only twice a year. 

In that brief pause when the flint is struck and flame ignites, just before the inspiration takes form - it is there that every creative spark has this potential and it is what we celebrate at Burnal Equinox. The balance in everything, the moment of change. All sorts of possibilities become apparent, all avenues laid out before, and in that suspended moment is the balance we celebrate.

We are one part of this balance, YOU are the other part. Come and walk into the creative space on the playa to share your interpretation of BALANCE. Use your creative energy, whether you bring music, or make it, build a thing of beauty or burn it!  Achieve that balance with us!  As with music there needs be dance, with community there need be people. We are here but we need YOU here, too. So what can you do?

PLAY

Bring music and performance, stir up the playa dust a bit! Bring the sounds to entice people to nod their heads, tap their foot, even to stand and dance! Music is said to soothe the savage beast, but it can also have inspiring beats. Show us how - bring your spark of music as a DJ or live performer. Sign up with our self-scheduler here.  There's a small information session that you'll need to have between now and the event to help you become acclimatted to BURN2, strea set up and a few other things.  After you sign up, we'll contact you in-world to make arrangements.  

GREET

Welcome people who wander in, great them with delight and a sense of good fun. If you enjoy meeting people, come and be a greeter. It's one of the easiest things to do and a great way to meet people and learn what BURN2 is all about. Light that spark with your friendly Burner greetings.

CREATE

So many possibilities, such potential, lies in a clean piece of playa. You have it within you, now let the dream take form through prim, sculpt and mesh, with texture and colour and motion - create what is not possible in the real world, to express your vision of BALANCE.Sign up and build and create works of art for the joy of it.

CREATE MORE

Consider becoming a part of the Artcar Preservation Association at BURN2 - create an Art Car to be used at Burnal Equinox and other BURN2 events.  Build the art car to theme - come to classes, get a kit, and see what you can create! Contact Larree Quixote inworld via IM or notecard for details.

Even as participants, there are no bystanders at BURN2.

BURN2 is an extension of the Burning Man festival and community into the world of Second Life. It is an officially sanctioned Burning Man regional event, and the only virtual world event out of more than 100 real world Regional groups, and the only Regional to burn the Man!

The BURN2 Team spreads Burning Culture and Burning Man Ten Principles year round in Second Life, culminating in an annual major festival of community, art and fire in the fall - a virtual echo of Burning Man itself.
