Question: removing object speaking animation

It depends. 

If the object speaks with llWhisper, llSay, or llShout, everyone will see the swirlies. 

If it speaks with llOwnerSay, only the object's owner will see them. 

If it uses llRegionSayTo((key)Some_avatar's_key,0,message), then only the avatar with Some_avatar's_key will see them.

If it speaks with llRegionSay or llInstantMessage, there will be no swirlies at all.

Basically, if the message is one that you can hear, you'll always see swirlies unless the message is sent by llInstantMessage.  IIRC, the Firestorm option only affects what you can see, not what other people can see, so it's only really useful if you are personally offended by seeing swirlies.
