Hold with AO?

I have an object with an animation in it. Its a holding animation. But I want the rest of my AO to work properly while I hold it. So I can still walk and it moves and does it thing but has the pose only in my arms.

 

I did this once before but it was so long ago, I don't remember how! Halp!

 I think you have to make/use an animation that doesn't have any other bone movements. I'm probably wrong, but I've read something about only the animated bones being used.

Sounds like whoever made the hold animation locked too many bones. Unfortunately that can't be changed after upload so the only option is to replace the animation.
