Why does the "forward offline IMs to email" setting in my account keep switching itself off?

Over the last few days, I've had th re-enable the setting to receive offline IMs via email multiple times - it will work for a while, and then I'll stop receiving offline IMs, and when I check my account, the setting has been disabled.  Why is this happening, and how can I stop it?
