My yearly premium renewal is due very soon. I want to downgrade but the system will not let me.

My yearly premium renewal is due on April 4.  I do not with to remain a premium member and want to downgrade to Basic but I get the following error message:  

• You must first Tier Up to square meters - (1/128 Region) or release your land before downgrading to Basic.

I do not know what to do.  The system does not give me any land to release.  I have a little land that I have donated.  How do I release that so that I can downgrade to Basic.

If you have made a tier contribution to a group, you'll have to reclaim it before you can downgrade to Basic.  Read these instructions very carefully >>> https://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Group-owned-land/ta-p/700079#Section_.5.1

Maggie,

Leave the group where you have donated a land tier commitment to. If you have not donated any Land Tier to a Land Group then stand in the middle of your existing parcel, pick up everything you have rezzed in it and then Abandon it.

After leaving the group and/or abandoning the parcel, go to the https://secondlife.com/my/account/landfees.php?lang=en-US page and Update Tier section and select the $0.00 / month setting and press the Save Changes button.

Next, go to the https://secondlife.com/my/account/membership.php?lang=en-US page and select the Basic Membership option and press the Change Membership button.

Remember, even after doing all of this, you will be charged one more time for the maximum donated Land Use Tier Level you had over the past month.

You may rejoin the group you just left if you want. Remember not to pledge any land donation to it this time.
