Welcome to Second Life Answers, sasha.

Mostly it is best to just ignore/block/mute a person who sends you an abusive IM. Some people unfortunately do make it their mission to be as offensive as possible, because of the reaction it gets.

If you submit an abuse report to Linden Lab, via the inworld "Help" option, as you already have done, still do block/mute the offending individual and put the whole incident out of your mind.

I am going to assume you mean you want to forward nasty IMs that your persecutor sent you, and that you do not mean that you want to call Linden Labs names.

To do so, you must first have a log of the IM.  You can set either local chat, IMs, or both to be saved to files on your hard drive in your Preferences.

Browse to and find the text file.  It will have their user name, such as nastyperson.txt.  Highlight the relevant portion of the IM and copy it with the shortcut CTRL+C.

Log in to SL, go to Help/Report Abuse.  Fill out the Abuse Report form.  In the detailed description part, paste the text from your IM log with the shortcut CTRL+V.  Submit the Abuse Report.

NOTE:  Under no circumstances edit the log text to make the person appear worse!  Linden Lab will only use your log excerpt to find and check the conversation on their OWN logs, and if yours is different from theirs you could be buying some Big Trouble for yourself.

But...before you go to all that work...you should know that there is a much faster way to deal with Mr. or Ms. Nastyperson.  Open their profile, and click on the Block (or Mute) button.  You will no longer receive IMs or hear local chat from them, and any items they send you will be automatically refused.

Linden Lab doesn't often take serious action against someone who is just annoying you with words.  Muting is a much more effective tool than Abuse Reporting in these cases.

i know this is supposed to be to answer their question but i couldnt find the answer to a similar question..what if you have blocked/muted them and they continue to harass you by sending out messages to your friends, everyone at your place of work including the owners..and ect. do you complain or report abuse when its too many people to have to tell and have them all block the person
