My Avatars name is being slandered on another Avatars profile.. can SL do anything bout it?

You can file an abuse report but need to be very specific about which part of the TOS you think they are violating and dates and times the offender said what they said.  You must be completely innocent and didn't do anything to provoke that name calling in most cases. 

Proving slander is hard.  Most times it boils down to a dispute between residents name calling and LL won't get involved in that.

In addition to Amethyst's answer with suggestions on filing the abuse report, if you choose to do so, I would also suggest muting and blocking them (if you haven't done so already) and then move on. 

I would let the other person's actions (using their profile to speak bad about another resident) speak for themselves about their own character.
