  1. I made a script to rez objects ("rezzables") from a rezzer's inventory. It works fine. But I cannot drag that rezzable onto the floor next to the rezzer. The mouse cursor turns into circle-slash.lock. Do I need modify + copy to be able to drag an object from my object's inventory? Why can my script rez the object but I cannot drag it out? This seems inconsistent, so I wonder what I have done wrong. I created and own the rezzer object and script, and the refer is not associated with any group. I am on my own parcel. Someone else created the rezzables. The rezzables are mCt permission (no modify, copy, no transfer).
  2. Hiya! Is there any way to make a notecard that is COPY but NO trans / NO mod and isn't readable? I recall seeing notecards that say you don't have permission to do this when you try and open them, but is that just if they are transfer/no mod/no copy? Thanks in advance and sorry if this is a very blonde question, I've been going in circles with today.
  3. I have created an object which I want to sell with mod/copy permissions. I have full perms over the object including most of the scripts, which I created. There is one script in the object which I have only copy/transfer perms over - it is no mod. If I take my object to inventory without this script, I can transfer it with any permissions I like. When I add the script, problems start: 1. Add no mod script. Set perms to mod/copy and take to inventory. Whilst in inventory, it changes the perms to no mod no copy and I can only change the copy perm. 2. If I then re-rez the item it shows as copy / no mod (for the next owner). I can then change the perms so the next owner can modify it. Again.. take into inventory... 3. After this re-rezzing (called slamming I think?) I can pass the object to someone else and they have the mod perms. However the act of taking it into inventory has removed the copy perms for the next owner! If I just edit the copy perms whilst in inventory and then pass it to them, it has reset the mod perms to no mod!! I know that's all hard to understand - but the effect is that I can pass on my object copy or mod, but not both. Can anyone offer help with this issue? I know it can be done as I've done it with another object, but have no idea how as I never noticed this issue before. Thank you

  10. When I try to restart my animation HUD I get an error message: "Script trying to take controls from owner but PERMISSION_TAKE_CONTROLS permission not set!" How do I set this permission so that the animation's script can run?
  11. Hello guys! I've encountered a problem while trying to grant editing rights to my friend. Every time I select the option, the check mark appears but the name stays grey and the permission doesn't go through. It's been a few days now and it still doesn't work. I know very well how to use the permissions, I have used them plenty of times. I even tried granting this permission to other friends in case it was related to just one person but it's the same. It just gets stuck in grey forever. I tried changing it a couple of times for the past few days and nothing. Help ;c
  12. Today I had a mysterious change of permissions on an item I bought on Marketplace from a reputable creator. I don't think it's their fault, but rather a glitch that happened when SL crashed. So . . .I bought a full-perms top on MP and made my own texture for it. All was well, the top fitted nicely (the smallest version from the pack). I went to a club and after a while there was a restart and I crashed out. When I relogged at home, I still had the top on but it was now plain white. I tried to reapply the texture I'd made but the top had lost all permissions so I couldn't do anything with it. I tried on the next size up and that was still full-perms and accepted the texture - but the smaller one was a better fit so I'd like to recover that if possible. I didn't change the perms myself, and even if I had, as owner I'd still be able to texture it. I cleared cache and even turned the computer off and on again. Now, several hours later, the top is still not allowing me to texture it. Has anyone else had this happen and if so have they been able to remedy the problem? I'm pretty sure it was to do with the region restart.

  15. I've been modifying the [AV]object script so that a prop can remain attached and keep animating an avatar even after teleporting to another region. I've managed to get the prop to stay attached and keep animating, but once I'm in a different region, I keep getting the error message "Unable to find specified agent to request permissions".   17. This issue has been resolved and can be closed. The apparent failure of llAllowInventorDrop(FALSE) was because the non-group avatar I was testing with had been given blanket permission in Contacts > Friends to edit my objects. After I removed those permissions and waited 6 hours ( just in case it takes time to percolate through the system) everything is working fine again. ================ I'm a reasonably good scripter in LSL but i cannot get llAllowInventoryDrop(FALSE) to work for me. Symptoms: once I set llAllowInventoryDrop(TRUE) one time in my script in a simple prim, it doesn't seem to matter after that whether I set llAllowInventoryDrop(FALSE) or not, it's always true. Does anyone recognize this problem? I'm trying to make a group-specific notecard drop-box script, and want to turn on or off inventory dropping depending on the group tag the user is wearing. Thanks in advance for any info, pointers to documentation or bug-reports, or other wisdom! =============== OK, in attempting to make a tiny script that demonstrated this problem, I realized i have a different problem: nothing I do makes my objects so they cannot be modified by other avatars! This may be why I have the original problem, that llAllowInventoryDrop(FALSE) was not working to stop other people from dropping objects into my prim's inventory. ok - tracked this down to my having checked "Friend can edit, delete, or take objects" as permissions in my FRIENDS tab!
  18. I recently discovered that staff in my club's group has the ability to rez items, regardless of their role, even those who were not granted such permissions in the group. This includes the 'Everyone' role which only has the group chat box checked. The land is deeded to this group. I tested it on my home sim as well, which is deeded to another group, and this same issue persists. So sometime within the last month, something has changed, seemingly grid wide, that allows anyone in a group to rez items even if they were not granted that ability. This could cause major problems for land or business owners as well as other groups needing to regulate permissions. Has anyone else had issues restricting perms for members of their group recently? This needs to be addressed and corrected as soon as possible.
  19. I ask this question because of two instances that I have seen, one at home on my houseboat in Hibiki and one happening on Protected Land in the adjoining Double sim. Yesterday, while at home with a friend, we both noticed my neighbours cuddle rug start talking in Chat. She was setting it up so it became a little irritating. I have "Restrict gesture & object sounds to this parcel." ticked in About Land. I IM'd my neighbour and and asked if she, too, had this ticked. She replied that yes it was ticked and we were both left puzzled. Now, oddly, I continued to see object chat until she decided the ugly rug (her words) was removed by her friend but my friend stop seeing it her chat. Now, the other oddity is happening now in the Double region. The channel across Double is Protected Land, no build, and Object Return is set for 1 minute. Yet all morning there has been an empty motor boat sitting in the Protected Channel and it hasn't been returned. Clearly, someone abandoned the boat but why is it still there?
  20. I don't know if this is the right place to ask or if anyone can even help with this, but I'm trying anyway. I'm renting a little parcel of land on a sim, and I've got a skybox on it. I logged in today to find various items missing - random items, unlinked to each other, from a wall to a bench to some objects my friends had placed. They'd all had physics and phantom enabled and tumbled down to the floor of the sim. All of these objects had 'Share' to group enabled. It seems like someone had joined our group (its public and free to join) and enabled physics etc. There is a permission in group permissions that says "Manipulate (move, copy, modify) group-owned objects", which is enabled only for the owner (myself) and officers (all my friends). The default user role has NO permissions outside of joining the group chat and setting home on group land. None of them have been online today, and I trust them not to do stupid crap. So it would seem that someone malicious joined the group, enabled physics on everything they could, and then left. So does the 'Share' tag on an object allow ANY member of a group to edit an object, even if the only relevant permission is disabled? I'm guessing it's not someone who cheated themselves into being an officer since they could have done a LOT worse than just mess with a few items. Is there any way to make it so that ONLY officers can do anything to shared objects, or do I need to make another friend-only group or something?

Also, is there an expected permission setup for items of this nature? I can think of pros and cons for all except obviously copy/trans which would be silly on my part.

  23. Hello. I know this has been covered many times (as I've tried to research it myself), but I haven't been able to find anything addressing my specific issue. Most have dealt with sitting or TPing and the like. I should start by saying I know next to nothing about scripting and only just starting to "build" or adjust some of my current furniture to my liking and for my own personal use/preference/enjoyment (not for sale) and using others' items, scripts, animations, etc. So...I'm creating a simple drink giver which automatically gives out and attaches a number of different drinks. I'm using AVSitter's prop/object/menu scripts (in the giver), 2 animations (drink and hold - the hold overrides the AO and works while moving, which is nice), and a simple script to animate (both in the drink props). Now, I have to say, everything works well....the giver offers the menu of drinks (plus a "clear" button), asks permission to attach. The prop attaches and the animations work perfectly until manually detached or "cleared" through the menu. All the props work when manually attaching them without the giver as well. The issue is, every time the Permission Request to attach appears, I also get the apparently common error: "[17:36] Script trying to stop animations but PERMISSION_TRIGGER_ANIMATION permission not set". I ignore it, grant permission and everything works fine (once the annoying little error triangle disappears). I could go on ignoring it, I suppose, but it is annoying...and besides I wouldn't be learning anything that way either. I'd post the script, but I don't know which it's coming from (my best guess it the "prop" script in the giver, since I get it at the attachment request). I'd really love some help with this. Thanks!!
  24. When you give or offer "Permission to Edit or Take My Objects" to a friend, and then unfriend without reverting that permission, does the permission automatically reset to null? Let's suppose you are not able to speak to the person to verify that. Also, how do you know if the person even accepted that offer, if you find yourself unfriended after offering the permission? When you are no longer friends, there is no way to see if the permission persisted after the friendship ended, because you cannot see the perms detail on the social profile, even if you have the logged in view of it. I would like assurance that shared permissions are revoked when the friendship is ended. I've searched the Knowledge Base and forum, but find nothing about this. Thanks very much for any guidance. ?
