  1. im using blender 2.7. i rig two year ago and took a brake and now back. An old avatar i had made clothing for and rigged in the past and when i upload it doesn't attach as a rig anymore an just an object. i try bento skeleton. basic skeleton. everything move fine in blender. i try avastar and even old rigging method before avastar days. i even try a basic rig box. when i upload and click weight box on sl to upload. it shows that it weight to the body and moving and bending but when i upload and attach it act like and object and can resize move etc on the avatar. i try beta server. try a different computer. basic blender with no add on. i even downloaded the sl basic viewer. had a friend screenshare and made sure i was doing thing correctly and it even puzzled them on why its not working. sl upload gave no error warning. try different selection method to export to make sure i was not doing anything wrong. i probably am doing something wrong though lol. i find. alot of tutorial are outdated maybe?

Hey guys is there any one who makes custom avatars here??? i have my avatar custom made but its not upto the mark i wanted it to look like real me and one of my friend tried it..but there is another platform which is called as DAZ studios and one of a creator made it using my real pix which u can see here...but i want the same model here on second life is it possible?? happy to pay too please message me if u can do it thanks

Hi there I'm looking for a little bit of help in that, I'm seeking someone to custom make an avatar for me (Well aware it will be paid in RL money to compensate for time spent working on it, unless you'd prefer L$?) But I can supply images to anyone interested. So far from the top of my head the kind of things that would be necessary are.. somewhat unique avatar animations for the AO, and maybe a colour change HUD. I dont want to say it will be simplistic because the design isnt "complicated", as I dont know how difficult it could potentially be. I'm inexperienced. This will be for personal use, and for my partner.   6. Hi. Have for a little while now wanted to be a part of a medium scale project that employ agents with different skill setts. I possess good .lsl knowledge to think i would be contributing towards a group. My main curiosity point toward avatar creation, complete with hud for both avatar, avatar apparel and attachments. Maybe in a worn down cyber-steampucky design. And maybe static environmental object such as generator, steam battery, lights. etc. to create items the user can have at home. I have never worked on avatar creation or such, but have made some huds and mini games to think my skill will suffice. In regard to such a project, if someone have a bit of knowledge to share on the basic of update system that may be useful. That would be appreciate.
  7. I was wondering if there was a modifier in Blender to reduce vertices while keeping things smooth? I learned that there is a 65k vertices limit when I upload things and whenever I try lessen the vertices (via limited dissolve), it gets the mesh a little blocky or loses the general, smooth shape I want. I tried making a dress and it was going well till I ended up with that limit and well... it’s practically ruined at this point trying to lessen the vertices via the limited dissolve lol. But hey, I’m still a beginner, so... it’s a learning process, ya know! Anyways, anything other than limited dissolve to lessen the vertices to be put under that limit of 65k vertices? In a way to keep the general smooth shape of the clothing item?
  8. Hola Llevo ya una década en la plataforma, aunque no ando siempre ahí, a veces me desaparezco por mucho tiempo. Cuando dejé de entrar constantemente a SL apenas comenzaban a salir los artículos Mesh, primero como muebles, ropa y cabello. Los cuerpos no eran todavía un boom. He regresado no hace mucho, ya conocía algo la temática del Mesh y usar sus alphas, etc. Pero ahora deseo un cuerpo. Inlcuso tengo muchos regalos de pieles, accesorios, etc pero son para cuerpos Mesh. PERO... a la hora de buscar, que lío se me hace en la cabeza, con tantos tipos, que si maitreya, hourglass, etc. No se en que consiste cada uno y por ende no se como elegir el adecuado. Tengo un Body de regalo muy chulo, pero no dice que tipo es y los regalos que tengo, aunque tienen muchos tipos de medidas, no le quedan ninguno. Tengo otro curvy pero las ropa Curvy no le queda. Las cabezas ni hablar, cual es mejor? que tipos hay? etc. Sinceramente mi cabeza clasica no me desgrada nada, me tardé mucho en hacer mi shape y quedó chulo, no veo super necesario cambiar a mesh totalmente, pero si encuentro uno que me enamore ni hablar, habrá que invertirle jaja. He encontrado videos muy malos en youtube donde solo muestran los cuerpos pero no explican nada. Necesito una guía que expliquen todo, los "appliers" en que consisten, como se usan, etc. Ojalá puedan ayudarme, guiarme a foros con la info porque no encuentro ninguno con esta info que requiero, he encontrado tutoriales pero ya muy viejos y no hay sobre lo moderno. Antes en SL había sitios donde te ayudaban pero ahora no hay nadie ahí. Saludos a todos y de antemano gracias. Si pudieran recomendarme tiendas con DEMOS completos para comprenderlos estaría super.
  9. SO! To start off, I am making a bodysuit for the Signature Alice mesh body. Since it’s a new body I like quite a bit, want clothing, sell clothing, etc. I got the Dev Kit, but I replaced the armature/pose with the workbench on one of Avastar’s blog post. (NOT the plugin you buy). The devkit armature didn’t work, so thats why. I tried to bento skeleton but I couldn’t seem to get the grid to recognize the skin weights. So I’m trying with the default, non-bento armature. I used the weight transfer option when attaching the bodysuit to the pose/armature as well. Which makes it rigged perfectly to how I want it to be so far. NOW. When I upload to the beta grid to test, everything is fine... BUT. It is not deformed to the Signature Alice mesh body (which I have on the file for reference). It looks more deformed for the classic avatar? I was wondering if anyone who has dealt with rigging clothes to a mesh body has any tips or tricks to deal with this? I am using Blender 2.8 (which so far does the same thing as 2.79 and honestly has an easier UI than 2.79). I do NOT have the Avastar plugin (don’t plan on having it anytime soon). I am using a default, non-bento skeleton (couldn’t get the bento skin weights recognized). And I am a complete beginner at this. XD I literally started less than a week ago. My Process ——— Rig bodysuit to armature using Armature Deform with Weight (something) Rigged perfectly fine. Export as DAE file and choosing the dropdown option for SL+OpenWorld rigged Upload (all good so far yepperz) Wear Rigged good... ... ..Not deformed to mesh body (Signature Alice)... TLDR: I got a mesh body devkit (Alice Signature) switched armature to default non bento skeleton because the devkit one wasn’t recognized as well as the bento skeleton, rigged it well (great even if I say so), upload normal with all the skin weight checkbox... but it isn’t deformed to the meshbody from the devkit. So I’m asking how to get it where it is scaled and deformed to the mesh body. Do not have Avastar and using Blender 2.8 btw.
  10. Hello! How does unwrapping and the number of faces affect LI? I noticed that the same model with a different UV and the number of faces has a different LI. why is this happening and how to save resources on this?

  12. I've been searching all over trying to find an answer for this. Maybe it's right under my nose, but I can't for the life of me seem to figure out how to fix this glitch with eyelashes on the Catwa Catya Bento Mesh Head. I know I can switch from blend mode to mask mode, and that does seem to fix the glitch with my eyebrows, but reduces the quality of the lashes greatly. I see others wearing their lashes for Catwa on blend mode, with makeup on even, and it looks fine. Any assistance on how to fix this issue where there's a flesh toned background to the lashes that cuts into my eyebrows would be much appreciated! I've attached a photo for reference.
  13. Accidentally posted this on another thread: I am newly back to SL after several years. I realized my classic body, though I loved it so much, is very inferior compared to the new mesh bodies, and also it is very hard finding any new clothing. So I got an Ebody which I LOVE, however I cannot get any shoes to work. Not even the Ebody ones from the ebody store, set to the right height and all that. My foot is way above the shoe, no matter what I do, and the heel is way behind my foot. I have been trying for hours to get my new self in one piece and looking good So frustrated! I have a wrong colored head with no hair right now as well...I guess I have to get a different head somehow, but cannot figure out what to do to match up. Mesh has so many different things to figure out, I don't know how any newbie can manage it! Sorry...back to the shoe thing..anyone have any ideas? I tried hover height and all that. Any help so appreciated!

  17. Created a HUD, works rezzed and worn but only on rezzed item, not worn item. When the socks are worn the textures do change with the HUD but they are extremely blurry and never load. Not sure what to do here to fix this. Anyone else had this experience?

  20. I am looking for an experienced mesher who can make the outfit below and give me an idea of how much it will run me. I am looking for it to be FULL perm with all of the maps, UV, etc. I am an an experienced texture designer but I do not have the skills to make the models and mesh itself. If there is anyone out there that can help me out that can make this, or know someone that can please let me know. I want the outfit to be in three pieces if possible. The Helm, Top, Bottoms [boots included in bottom] The helm I want where it is optional to wear the mask. Sword does not need to be included. And I would appreciate if it can be set for mesh bodies.   22. Hello everybody! I'm a Maya beginner, and I have some questions for you: What renderer for Maya most of Second Life creators prefer using for texture baking: Mental Ray or V-Ray? What kind of lighting in Maya Second Life creators using to achive results like this: I mean, less shadows, dark spots inside and outside. Is it may special HDRI map? What do you guys think?   24. Hi again. I'm creator of Purrrfect and Horrifically delicious stores. I selled full perm templates for a lot of years and i'm self educated in mesh. I can teach you basic blender work and creating clothes from nothing. I suspect my methods are not so mainstreem but they are all about the comfort and reducing time of work. I'm not so great in a free sculpting because i'm all about game indistry not art industry (different type of 3d) and all about game industry specifics. I'll not make extremely losg teaching because it's rediculous to create 50 lessons from 5-10. I use some programs you'll have to get somewhere like marvelous designer and retopology progrmas. But this is really when i'm lazy. I dont' think there is need to increase the miracle effect in 3d work, so i show it simple and if you want more story into lessons i can so it. But if you choose just go there and start from scratch i'm fine with it. But please don't think it'll not be effort from your side because after me you'll have to fight with what you've learned by yourself.I can provide some help afterworld like fixing and showing you your mistakes. Maybe it would be nice to have homework to be able to see mistakes right after lesson. I can only accept straight paypal payouts, and we'll speak about price in private.   25. Hi I have written asking about this mystery a couple of times before but no one seems to have any idea, which I find difficult to believe, so I'm trying again with a fresh example. There is a particular technique of animating a mesh object that I am seeing that utterly baffles me and I wonder if any smart mesh coder out there can point the way for me? Now one method I'm familair with is by combining many models together, each with a slightly moved posture, linking them all together into one multi-limbed monstrosity, then using LSL to switch them all invisible but one, then cycle through which one is visible to create the desired effect. You have one new model for each 'frame' of the finished animation. Now I understand that and that is NOT the technique I'm asking about. The mystery technique operates on a single mesh object (no linked parts) that reports only 2 faces. An actual example: I recently bought a shark that has 4 tail swim positions. I have seen things with about 10 positions but lets keep this simple as an example. When working, the shark switches tail positions to create the illusion of wagging it's tail left and right. As there are only 4 positions in this example, the illusion is a little jerky, but it's the 'how'? of it I want to ask about. This shark is one object - not four. It's not one torso with four tails either. It's the Shiva of sharks - all one body with several tail fins. So - switching one body visible and the rest 'off' isn't possible here. Clicking on the various tails as I have to get their face number doesn't solve it either, as at least three of the tails have the exact same face number. I have seen other cretaures that have many more than 4 positions, and these too are all one model with a similar paucity of faces, so - it's NOT about addressing different faces and telling different faces to switch on and off either. So summary - we have a multi-phase animated creature with more 3D new positions than there are objects - or faces - in it's composition. How on earth can I start to accomplish something like that myself? Only if you actually know please! Regards Frankie.
