  1. We want to thank everyone for the kind words they have expressed in the last 24 hours since Linden Homes has launched its first phase of homes. We are delighted so many of you are enjoying the homes, the decor, and especially the feel of community. As part of fostering that community feel, we are going to address two changes that are occurring over the next week or so (and explain our reasoning). The first is that at 6am SLT on Wed April 17th, we are going to uncheck the box on the Linden Homes estate that allows parcel owners access restrictions to be more restrictive than the estate. Meaning: no ban lines. It's our belief that with a sense of community being a main goal of Linden Homes, ban lines send the wrong message. Parcel owners can still ban troublesome individuals by name on their parcel but they will not be able to put their land in virtual lock down by restricting access to group only. The second goes hand in hand with parcel access, and that is security devices. We want to allow Residents to fly, walk, drive, sail and explore freely across Bellisseria without compromising Residents privacy and security on their own parcels. To that end we are allowing the use of security orbs. However, since many orbs can be set in ways that preclude even the most innocent of straying across a parcel boundary or being sent home even though you are 500m in the sky we are forced to come up with a compromise. You may use your personal security orbs or devices in Linden Homes for now, but early next week: we are going to provide you with an approved device via the Linden Homes Content Packs. It will work just as aggressively in protecting your homes from unwanted intrusion, but still reasonably allow Residents to explore without fear of being ejected or teleported home without warning. Once those are added to the Linden Homes Content Packs, the use of other scripted security devices will not be allowed and this will be noted in an update to the Linden Homes covenant. So, to recap: - Ban lines will go away for Linden Homes starting 6am SLT on Wed April 17th - Linden-supplied security orbs will be distributed via the Linden Homes Content Creation Packs early next week - Personal security orbs/devices will be allowed from the above date until approved security orbs are distributed (and not after) We’re thrilled you’re enjoying Linden Homes and we’re excited for everything else to come!
  2. This is for everyone that might not be quite happy about the location of their home in terms of view, and don't know about the derender features in the Firestorm viewer which can really make an improvement to it(you need the Firestorm viewer, but if you haven't got it in my opinion it's well worth using as it has other great features too, and is no more difficult to install or use than the LL viewer). I would first start by saying that a very quick and dirty alternative tip is just set your draw distance to the lowest in your preferences. If you don't want to do that this other tip might work better for you. Id' also like to thank RaeLeeH, Kitten Kaos for the suggestion and help this thread https://community.secondlife.com/forums/topic/439904-vacant-homeshouseboats/?tab=comments#comment-1937326 and panterapolnocy in this thread https://community.secondlife.com/forums/topic/439983-firestorm-derender-blacklist-question/ So my personal example: my houseboat is in a pretty nice location, I can't complain for sure. But the way the houseboats are oriented I'm not that fond of using most of the styles because the outside lower balcony and windows would look straight onto the back of the neighbouring houseboat - not the greatest view...Plus I'd rather not have the neighbour's objects in the back water area in view. And on the other side there is a houseboat opposite and it would be nicer not to have that there. Maybe I wouldn't need my trees on that side to make the view more pleasant and reduce my object count. So here are the shots before: And here are the views after I derendered the lot: Makes me so happy:) (No offence to my neighbours!) Gives me nicer possibilities with the other houseboat styles too, and the views are improved. To derender a whole bunch of stuff follow RaeLeeH's instructions (I hope she doesn't mind me copying it here): For a single object simple right click and choose More>More>Derender. When you get to the Derender option you can choose 'Blacklist' or 'Temporary'. Temporary lasts until you log out. Blacklist lasts as long as you want. However this does not work across PCs, so if you use another one you'll have to Derender again. To remove something from the Blacklist go to the World menu 'Asset Blacklist' and that opens a list of all items you have blacklisted. You can them remove items, and they will reappear. This works for Linden owned items so if you have some walls or bushes (or other houses!) near your traditional house you don't want to see, just derender them! I've used Firestorm for a while and only recent learnt about this feature, so I'm guessing there are others who may not know about it too. Have fun!
  3. I have a question. For those of you that use additions/modifications you purchase from a creator, how many prims are you willing to utilize (out of the 351 allotted) for structural changes to your new home? What would you consider reasonable? I am curious. Thanks!
  4. If you have more than one Linden Home, please consider letting the excess go so others can join the party. Community depends on people, not an endless expanse of beautifully decorated empty homes. Growth is and always will be fleeting, and we all, selfishly, need this to boost as high as possible. The more people we can trick into joining us pack in now will impact the longevity and quality of the community that remains afterwards. Use your slack teir on mainland, pick up some cheap junk land and make it pretty. (I do have a Linden Home already, this is not a whine about not being able to obtain one)

    Thank You

I am pretty much an introvert and conversions, in the forums and group chats add to it. It disheartens me each time some feels its ok to be a bully, cruel or mean. Gives me very little faith in humanity. We really need to do better. Thank you patch for all your hard work and you massive heart. Thank you each and every Linden that puts in the time and loves second life as much as each and everyone of the residents. Thank you to the moles whole are working hard each and every day. Thank you to every resident, that takes the time to help another resident. take the time to tell someone thank you, sometimes they really need it.
  6. Alright, lets talk about Bellisseria roads and road vehicles for a second. We all have seen nicely done boat rez zones conveniently placed around the continent. They all have reazonable space and are clearly marked to let everyone know you can rez your water vehicle there. We have also seen couple air strips appearing in the area, each one with their own dedicated rez zone for aircrafts (not clearly maked but atleast they are there), but lets talk about Road vehicles and road rez zones... Bellisseria has a problem with road vehicles rez zones. Current road rez zones seems to be placeholder or temporary solutions. They are all currenly found on undeveloped regions arround the developed areas, nothing in between. They are also lacking any kind of marking to let people know of their existance. Newly developed areas seems to also not take vehicle rez zones in consideration as there is none to be found to the date of this post. I am personally hoping that these rez zones has their own space on the developers list of things to have as road vehicles are certainly important when the continent has so much space dedicated to roads alone, and a large community with big interest for road vehicles. Let's make sure they are not forgotten shall we? Is not lag, or your bad driving... the roads are actually broken. Maybe you have noticed that driving around Bellisseria is not exactly a smooth experience. You are not crazy... roads has some issues you can't really see. Bellisseria roads seems to be the first road by the LDPW made out of mesh pieces and they aren't exactly perfect. After some driving, I noticed my vehicles were pretty bouncy, specially on curves. I also had many issues with my vehicles simply refusing to move, randomly, in some areas.. just revving the engine without moving. Upon closer inspection I realized that the road custom colission shapes had various problems that caused various types of issues with the vehicles. These problems has been properly reported and we hope to see them fixed soon. More on that: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-227210 Bellisseria is a great place to take a drive! The continent is without doubt one of the top mainland areas to take a scenic drive. Let's support improvements like these to help polish that experience!
  7. Hi, does anyone know if there are texture packs for the walls and floors for the new traditional linden homes? I can't see one in the creation pack and it would really help me out. Failing that, has anyoen got the UDD codes for the various textures in the homes. Many thanks for your replies.
  8. Bellesseria appears to be made for cycling. The moles did a fantastic job creating an extensive network of roads along with diverse terrain and landscaping. Plus there is ample open space if you just like to ride free form. To get things started, I have created a bike tour that circles the existing connected land (as of May 20, 2019). The "Bellesseria Big Loop Bike Tour" chart shows where it goes but you really need a nav HUD, so I have provided one. Everything you need is at the Beckridge Gallery http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Beckridge/201/138/25 , including a guest bicycle. Have Fun!
  9. Does the new continent of Bellisaria (where the new Linden Homes are) have any Linden Rez Zones, simillar to the ones on the mainland where folks can rez a car, bike, or boat?
  10. Hi! Linden Team, I do appreciate the fact that the team has come up with new Linden homes. They did a great job. It looks awesome and I am eagerly waiting for it. Just that every day, from office/home I am checking the update page nearly 3-4 times a day, waiting to see if any update after 15 April 2019 on releasing new home…. We all have office/personal/freelance projects in RL and we also have an estimated timeline for release to clients. It is perfectly OK to say, that the release may take a month or 2 or even 3. So, would be really nice if at least an estimated time frame provided for new Linden Home release. I understand there is quite a hard work involved and it’s not an easy task either. Just that a small n quick update would do Thanks, Diane
  11. Premium membership is going up in price to $99 annual, and receives 1024 sqm. (It was $72 annual & 512 sqm.) ...And then of course, there's the 2nd generation Linden homes that are coming out... using the land fees calculator was starting to confuse me, especially when you throw in the "group-owned land" bonus... I currently have 1 premium acct with 5120 sqm mainland, which maxes out my tier at $22 a month. I don't have a linden home but might consider one, once the 2nd gen ones are available again, but anyways -- I digress... Which option would cost less USD $ overall: 1. 1 premium acct at $99 annual, with maxed out 5120 sqm at $22 monthly tier. (This is my current situation.) 2. 2 premium accts at $198 total annual, with the 5120 sqm split between the two (2560 sqm each) -- which falls under the $13 monthly tier each, and then throw in the group-owned land bonus on top. (Does this mean more sqm, more prims, or less tier?) 3. Say screw it -- get rid of the 5120 sqm, get 2 premium accts, and get two 2nd gen linden homes (1 for each acct). 4.Or some other inexpensive alternative that isn't covered in the above...?
  12. I have a recently growing confussion regarding Second Life's meanings when it comes to Advertisement and Branding and hopefully an official source could put light onto the subject. Recently there has been plently of mentions regarding advertisement and commercial activities on Linden Lab official things like Linden Home Covenants and SL16B Guidelines. What I understand on these is that branding is being seen as commercial advertisement, but is not exactly clear. For example: Recent changes to Linden Homes covenant as described by Patch linden: "As a note of clarification and to call out a specific use case example: If a content creator is using a Linden Home as a display model to feature content they’ve created specifically for a Linden Home, this by itself is ok. What you may not do is put up signage on the parcel that advertises it, your store, brand, redirect people away from the home for purchases, etc. You can not sell items off your parcel. What you can do is direct people to your Linden Home as a demonstrator of your creations from elsewhere (your main store or marketplace listings). Also, the little cafe/pub type places that have popped up are really awesome and fun, but should also follow the same sorts of guidelines." SL16B Exhibitor Policies: " Your display at the event should not be commercial. Exhibits promoting buying and selling of goods and services do not fit in with our policies and theme. Any part of an exhibit that violates this rule will be removed. While commerce is a very important part of SL, this is a party, not a mall or sales fair. No selling is allowed and no advertising will be permitted. " What does the word brand means for Linden Lab and what exactly falls under advertisement? It is extremely common in Second Life for users to advertise a variety of things in many ways. The most clear way of advertising would be using logos with messages that would direct others to either visit a location, a website, open a group, etc, often of stores or content creators, but the problem starts when they also advertise groups that are not exactly identified as stores or paid services. They can be advertising groups of people with something in common, or a society with same interests, or even a legitimate non-profit organization. Eeven these cases that are not stores by the mean of the word, they do also have a brand, often a logo that identifies these groups, societies and non-profits, and those logos or brands are also widely used by Second Life users on all kinds of situations. Now, what I understand is that branding is branding no matter what the brand is for, the brand purpose or what it represents. I also understand that branding does not necesarily means advertisement. A logo could be use in a way of showing support, giving credit, or simply the logo is part of an object or texture already and there is no intention from the user to use it as a way of advertisement or brand awareness. There are numerous cases of logos (or branding) being use for other purposes that are not commercial, for example: Belliseria houseboats commonly features large yellow flags with a logo that represents a group. These homeowners clearly don't intend to commercialze the land with these, but non the less, the logos are a brand and they could be seen as advertisement depending where Linden Lab draws that line. Would be interesting to know what other people thinks about this matter, and if someone has been affected by perhaps some loopholes that may exist giving this situation.
  13. How did you do to remove the fence built into the house? he has certain of my neighbors who have none. I'm not finding in home redecoration menu how to remove or put it in transparency and phantom . I had to put my Teegles Bellisseria fence on the front and its very ugly .
  14. As per Business use of any kind is prohibited, including parcel rental, rental boxes, classified ads or other forms of advertising, and event listings.
  15. I was just wondering what the reasoning is behind the policy for only allowing residents to abandon and get a different LL home within 24 hrs? Is it some kind of server load issue, or something else? Will this be the case going forward with the new themes that will be introduced? Maybe with the new themes coming it's not such an issue regarding styles as you can rezz whichever style you choose within the theme (fantastic new feature), although people might want to abandon to get a different theme in the future when they are finally all available. For the first gen Meadowbrook theme it would have been nice to be able to abandon until you found the one that you really like. I know it won't be an issue in the future as LL are getting rid of them. Any ideas?
  16. The new houses and houseboats seem to have been a hit, and new styles will be coming (eventually I hear). Great! I can't wait to see what LL roll out next. The new houseboat designs are really nicely done, but they, and the houses, aren't really my cup of tea, so I won't be trying to grab one on the next batch release. I have a first generation Meadowbrook house, and I love it! Two floors, spacious, neighbours don't feel too close where I am, nice lot of grass around outside. I hope future themes will be as roomy (these new ones don't feel like it to me). I think it's gonna have to be something really cool for me to switch, until I eventually get forceably made homeless removed and have to choose...which is what I've read will eventually happen (sob sob). I'd love something similarly minimalist, with nice areas outside, and a decent view (not a brick wall like I've seen in some of the old houses...) So if you could make the decisions about future LL homes, what styles/themes would you like to see?
  17. Is there a name to the newly created premium linden home 2nd continent? Bellisseria Community would be the 1st premium home continent community. Hi5! and !
  18. Food for thought for Linden Labs: Not all of us read the forums or think to do so. Perhaps an email or especially a notice in world would be good to make an announcement about things? Hell only reason I learned about the release of the new Linden homes was because of a creator I buy from posted on her FB page that the new Traditional and Boathouses were going fast and said to watch the Forums for the new releases.
  19. i don't understand the new boat houses been out already ? when Americans awake and European VIP members are sleeping ? or we still wait for them out? thank u !
  20. Hi everyone So, I have been on SL for almost 3 years but I recently just got really into it, so I am stll learning things and I appreciate your help on this I just upgraded to a premium account, and got a linden home, it should be at 1024m but i am only using 512m now, and the maximum land impact is 175, I would love to add more things or even all the objects in say the kitchen set i bought or the living room..etc.. is there anyway to increase the parcel land capacity? Helpppppppppppp please 💖
  21. Hello everyone, This post is specially meant to be about the Waterways around Belliesseria I haven't yet expressed my opinion about or shared my suggestions for Bellisseria in any community topic but I will say in general.. Bellisserisa is AMAZING! it's been exciting (still is) and definitely a major step forward.. or lets say a high jump into the sky in terms of improvements, and SL is the only place in which we can fly without limits! It's absolutely overwhelming to see this huge amount of attention, participation and love for the new continent, finally a beautifully-made community connects residents together not only through Bellisseria but also through all of the Mainland. it's all about connecting... and by this I don't mean the gnarly sim-crossings! which is one of the most challenging issues throughout virtual simulators, of course it depends on various factors but mildly still works to get you there and sometimes perfectly - based on a standard - most of the time when it doesn't go wrong. (lets keep it positive shall we? *wink*) So, who doesn't like water and everything associated with it? you probably choose a beach or somewhere near the sea when going on vacation! ... now in the matter of discussing water in the virtual world; it's proven that waterfront is the most desired and valued location for land, either for the view or navigating abilities, a parcel of oceanfront land is most likely to be occupied at all times (evidently the quick sell-out of the new houseboats and the high demand on them in particular). Then why not have more of it? I suggest adding more water sims while LL has done a brilliant job in that matter.. wow, thank you, more please! 'Openspace' Mainland sims; they're efficient and do the job with minimum costs. Let's hope LL is going to add more and more of Coastal Waterways everywhere on the Mainland, This will revive more areas and best of all connect more and open new possibilities for boating and flying and all kinds of fun water activities. Here is a cup of water for y'all.. Cheers! P.S: oops! its water from a Linden Ocean.. is it salty or had LL managed to make it sweet?
  22. This is a digital issue. PERIOD! So now I am seeing only older homes after abandoning my very small new home - with the 117 prims still. I was excited about the new 300+ prim increase too. But really - those of us waiting have to deal with the less prims? Is this not just a matter of you getting your servers to allow more empty Linden Land per database coding? Get off your lazy buts and do it? You have our premium payment!? I am a former IT database, computer and gps coder and Team Manager. I never dealt kindly with lazy programmers on my team either. Are the Lindens REALLY doing all they can? My knowledge and experience say "no". I decided to make this forum topic because I saw this on You Tube: All new Linden Homes in Second Life More coming soon Oh my, how Second Life is being bragged about to the You Tube masses. If they only knew your negligence? You should be ashamed of yourselves! The Second Life inworld World Map screen shot below was taken right outside the home I abandoned a few days ago. I could probably use a clone code in Minecraft and make 100 villages quicker than your database programmers can get that green sim empty land filled with new Premium Homes? Really now stop BS'ing your Premium members and insulting our intelligence? Get it done already? Adumelial Rothstein est. 2008 P.S. I spend nearly 120.00$ a month on Linden Lab L$. Those of us like me may get a little less generous having to wait for your most celebrated Premium Perks. Start new topic
  23. When will the next batch of houses & houseboats become available? It seems they were all gone within the first day.
  24. Nathalia Sinister

    Sold out??

Nevrer mind it worked, sorry for the trouble.
  25. I want to start off by saying, as a very long time Premium member, this was definitely a much needed & long over-due upgrade. The new houses are great & the fact you can change the house on that same lot without moving is even greater. I am already really loving my new Linden Home. That being said, there is something I would like to address/suggest. Although there are many interior wall options, they're all light & bright, mostly all bright pastels (even the brown is a "bright" brown). It would be awesome if there were also the same options of darker/duller interior walls available.
