  1. So, having issues getting voice to work in Firestorm, using a 2016 MacBook Pro - I have been Googling and YouTubing for days and I have tried many things, but still failing. Built-in mic and gaming headset both work in other apps, just not in SL. I have chat enabled, I get a white dot over the avi head, but nothing... silence. Everything on the FS side looks like it should be working, but FS just doesn't seem to notice my system audio inputs, default or otherwise. I am hoping somebody out there maybe has encountered this issue and knows exactly what to do to get it to work? TFYH
  2. The next version of Firestorm is heading your way soon (honest) and subject to no last minute showstoppers it will be available before the Christmas freeze for those who wish to play with Animesh. As part of that release, there are the usual fixes and changes both from the lab and ourselves. Part of the latter is a revamp of the Mesh Uploader we all love to loathe. I have had a stab at documenting the various changes I have made to the uploader in a blog post : https://beqsother.blogspot.com/2018/12/easing-pain-of-importing-mesh.html The high-level summary is: What's changed? Cost breakdown, how the L$ charge is calculated Physics details, the costs of the different types of physics (convex hull, prim) Higher resolution preview image Scalable preview window Improved shading/lighting in the preview window Correct highlighting of degenerate mesh Improved error handling for physics models (avoid some of those MAV errors) UV Guide overlay Beq

    Inventory Issues

I logged in today and only have my inventory was there, I tried to change an outfit, and nothing was saved in my outfit folder. Is anyone else having this issues, or is it just me? If so, how can I fix this issue?
  4. Hello! The problem solved! Hello! Help please I have a problem. I'm trying to upload through the Firestorm the roof with an exit to the top, but I can not do physics. I tried a simplified cubic physics and the same model. But the passage is not formed. Applied rotation and scale. Prim / Convex hull don't work. I press the analyze and without, it does not help. It will be the roof of the moving object, so I think the analyze needs to be done. I will be grateful for any help! Thank you! P.S. When uploading with cubic physics, I do not even see the outlines of these cubes. Two months ago I uploaded another model and every cube could be seen.
  5. Can bake on mesh be used with firestorm?
  6. So a mesh builder friend of mine (long time creator, knows the ropes) is having major issues uploading a simple doorway (think garage opening) using the new update of the Firestorm viewer. He tried both cube and planes physics models. Set to prim. Can't walk through door. Doorway not recognized at all (like if you used a cube for the physics model). He did get a doorway using the Linden viewer (but by now his isn't really sure WHICH method he used -- sure most of us have been there). So anyone else having doorway issues with the new FS release OR SUCCESS (so that we know it isn't FS that is the issue)? He has been uploading on the main grid, not beta. Thanks. He isn't a forum person (how silly).
  7. I really appreciate anyone taking the time out of their day to answer this questions. HOWEVER, please read the description here entirely before doing so as it's frustrating and takes longer for anyone searching for the same answer to actually find the answer when things are having to be repeated countless times. I have tried to get rid of this hovering text that shows when the mouse is over a scripted game like no devil, but I am never able to find the solution. I'm using the newest update of Firestorm 5.1.7. My account is a little over 13 years old but I've only been playing actively for about 7 years. I only like firestorm viewer so I don't want to switch viewers. I've tried the shortcode, and turning off hovertips, but nothing works. One photo is of my settings and the other is of what hovering text I'm speaking of. The text box is not faded like that, it's just my computer sucks at taking screenshots of things that require using the keyboard or mouse as well. Thank you again for taking the time to read this and hopefully have some insight <3
¿Alguna sugerencia?
  9. Both SL Viewer and firestorm log me out after 2 mins my laptop is an alienware and more than capable of running SL and has done for a year graphics have not changed and update was done a few days ago and been perfect since any help is appreciated
  10. I need help! I'm new to selling things on marketplace and I DON'T FIND AN ANSWER TO THIS ON GOOGLE! So I've copied my object that I want to sell to Marketplace listing. (I have Firestorm Viewer by the way). Then Marketplace listings open with the folder where my object is in. Then I go to my browser, open my Merchant home on marketplace. I click on manage listings. BUT IT IS EMPTY! What should I do? Did I miss to do something? First I do the object in Second life world. Then - tell me the step by step please. Because as you can see, English is not my mother language. And I am desperated haha
  11. Hi all, I recently had a firestorm issue and decided to change reset my settings. I would usually always limit my MaxFPS because I felt it worked a little better on my laptop. However, when I went to go reset it its no longer found as a setting to change under debug settings. Is there anything else I can do to either limit the framerate lower than 15 or just have it run a little lighter on my MAC laptop? It took me a really long time to figure out settings that worked so I'm saddened things are no longer set like they used to. Thanks Rhia
  12. I got an notice that one of my land parcels had options set to "Build: Everyone, Object Entry: Everyone" and some else had rezzed adult material in plain view. And this isn't allowed in Moderate land, therefore the one who noticed it investigated to find land owner. ( I have land in two different regions, and have spent time in one of them, not both) I was lucky to get the notice, returned the stuff and changed options. I was sure I had the correct opinions set, but I could not be 100% sure. But since then, I am wary of land options. Yesterday, I crashed and when I logged in, things felt wrong. My Firestorm AO is totally empty and things rezzed slow. (I still haven't got the AO right, even after several relogs, but forget that problem for now. It is minor compared to Land issues) I don't know why I opened Land and looked at the Land Options, but to my absolute horror, it was set to "Build: Everyone, Object Entry: Everyone". I was 100% sure it was set to "Build: Group, Object Entry: Group". This is my primary land and where I have home set. I then teleported to my other three parcels, to find out that the Land Options was set to "Build: Everyone, Object Entry: Everyone" in one of them. Not the same land, and here I was 100% sure that I had set them to "Build: Group, Object Entry: Group". I am sure this last change in Land Options had happened recently, because my home is next to Linden Roads and Protected water, so it is people passing by. Some squatter or jerk would have rezzed something, and it had not happened. The Land Options had changed and I didn't do it. And the other group members is my alts. What the heck happened? The Grid Status is normal and was yesterday too. Is it a Firestorm bug? It can't have happened to others, because then someone would have made a thread about it?
  13. Hello, I'm trying out the Bakes On Mesh project and first of all, I gotta say that this is an amazing idea that will definitely progress SL and make our lives easier, so kudos to that! But, today I logged from the Firestorm beta and these weird red textures popped on my face, along with some blue spots on my body. I don't understand why in the Second Life beta viewer it looks fine and in Firestorm it doesn't. Also, for some reason the shape is different in the Firestorm viewer. I looked it up on youtube and I listened to a quick explanation but unfortunately, I didn't understand a single thing so I would appreciate a simple non-techy explanation and a solution (if there is). Thank you! Firestorm vs. SL viewers: https://gyazo.com/1cd83cfffb6cee87fa2a9b18d8eb8cda
  14. So, I have been having this intermittent freezing. The program/viewer starts to not respond, and I will get a little blue wheel for about 45 secs to a min. If I am not on my viewer and am in another window, even if it is not responding, I will see a little 'blink' when it comes back so that I knew it was frozen. It is VERY frustrating. I have checked my ram for any errors (ran memtest86 for 11 passes and it all passed). I have checked for virus' and malware. I have run a clean on the computer. I have clean installed viewers. Cleared cache. Moved my logs. I have rolled back video drivers. Updated drivers. Literally cannot figure out what the issue is and cannot find anyone else with the issue. I am going to attach a copy of my specs below, as well as a log I also submitted to the peeps over at firestorm. This happens on both SL and Firestorm viewers (when they are logged in at the same time too or not). I haven't had any response from LL (I put in a ticket over a week ago) and I put in a Jira Support ticket with Firestorm, and still waiting to hear from them. So, I thought in the meantime some of you might have some suggestions as to what is going on. 15. Hi everybody. Often when I try teleporting using Firestorm, the teleport starts and the progress bar gets maybe half-way with the "requesting teleport" status but then seems to hang, and there is no Cancel button, no menu, no way out of it, even Ctrl-Q doesn't work. I wait there, unable to tell my friends that yes I really am on my way, and eventually after a couple of minutes, the only thing I can do is the drastic step of killing the Firestorm process, launch it again and log in, and try the teleport again, which then usually works immediately. The sims I am trying to get to are nothing special, usually fairly quiet. I have read that a big load of attachments can slow teleports, but I never wear more than a mainstream mesh body and head, basic clothes/hair/jewellery, and no HUDs, with ARC of 50k or so. Can anybody suggest what might be going wrong here? Thanks a lot.
  16. Hiya Why doesn't firestorm default to keyboard and mouse?
  17. Hello, I can't seem to get any of the viewers to load onto my laptop. They all stall prior to login - saying "Initializing VFS" or gets stuck there. I have tried to re-download the ones I have been trying to login with (Firestorm, Singularity, Black Dragon & Original SL Viewer). The only one that will login is Singularity; but functions and graphics don't work in it (can't use bento, etc). This has been happening for about a week now. I am really not sure what the issue could be or how to resolve... If anyone could help, your advice would be greatly appreciated!

  19. Hello! I have been trying to run Firestorm because I love the features it has on it, but it lags horribly. No matter how low, or much I change the graphics it still lags oddly enough. While SecondLife Viewer runs great on high to ultra. On Firestorm I get about 20fps the highest.Admin doesn't change anything and I made sure my firewall wasn't blocking it. If anyone knows anything on what I can check or do please let me know. These are my specs:(All these are up to date.) Processor Intel Core i5-7400 Ram 16 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB Windows 10 64 bit
  20. Hello people. So my problem is that I don't receive offline ims anymore. When I checked my config options I found what the attached snapshot shows. Please could anyone explain me what is happening here? So is there any way to fix/activate that option again? I did never uncheck that option. I got Firestorm 4.5.0 Thanks.

Okay so im trying to reinstall Firestorm, I downloaded 5.0.11I chose the " For SL only 32bit: DOWNLOAD " version.and i did what this told me to do: http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_clearing_settingsand its still saying https://prnt.sc/jbrm7e(not to mention the 5.0.11 intel fix error message comes up as "Update Graphics Card"when i put in the 5.0.7 intel fix it says the error message I screenshotted above( https://prnt.sc/jbrm7e )somebody PLEASE help, I deleted the User_settings folder all together and it comes back when i try to launch firestorm, and i deleted all the " settings_per_account.xml " and still nothing changes.
  22. Estimado. We are grateful for the support, thank you very much Sincerely xlxyayiadditionxlx @ Second Life
  23. I've just spent an hour running NickeyD's branch of Firestorm on Linux. This is based on the LL AlexIvy version. It's looking good. Went to Tralala's Diner, a Japanese street market with high detail and good LOD textures. The new texture cache handling seems better than the old. The street market looks good, LOD transitions are working well,. and nothing broke. I tried some fast motorcycle runs around Circuit de Corse, sometimes outrunning the texture loading, and that worked fine. Very nice. Nothing broke anywhere. This seems to fix https://jira.phoenixviewer.com/browse/FIRE-22342 segfaults related to using OpenJPEG instead of the non-free version. (Not OpenJPEG's fault; a problem in error handling.) That's been the show-stopper on self-compiling Firestorm for some time. Once that branch gets merged back into Firestorm main, which is at 5.1.4.55097, we should have straightforward 64-bit Linux builds again. Waiting for this has been holding me back on working on velocity extrapolation at region crossings, which still needs improvement. Congratulations to everyone involved.
  24. Hi everybody. I do a bit of sailing, and it's nice to have daylight so that I can see what's ahead , so I do Ctrl-Shift-Y in Firestorm to force midday lighting, but that gets reset to the sim's default every time I cross a sim border. Does anybody know of a way to force permanent daylight until I decide otherwise? Thanks a lot.
  25. We have been discussing the new Firestorm building tools since the viewer came out over a month ago (maybe two but it doesn't seem that long). But all that great discussion is lost in another thread with Firestrom 5.0.11 in the title which really isn't going to help much for search. And WE DID RAMBLE a lot LOL. I recently wrote a short article on the new tools for my blog. Nothing indepth, mainly to alert SHOPPERS that they now have tools to make smarter purchases. Happily it is more popular than the free mesh body post that it shares placement with in the sidebar. THIS is a good thing I think. Folks do care. I use the LOD tools almost daily now and even though I always tested VISUALLY before, they have really helped me make -- well let's call them "informed" choices. I had a good example today of the beginning of a house build so I took a screenshot to demonstrate. Remember, MY method and choices are mine and not necessarily the ones others do or should make. We each work differently and often for different purposes. You can see that even at this relatively small size the solar wall will be viewable more clearly than it needs to be. (We don't need to see the details in the windows from a block away now do we?) So I can decrease the LOD settings (not a handmade LOD gal here) and still get the visability needed. Having the DISTANCE FIGURES really helps me. Before it was a cam out to what I "think" is the edge of the sim sort of thing. I also believe that having the Linden viewer numbers next to the FS numbers is a reminder that there ARE folks using 1.25 or lower LOD settings. The studs, cement, footer and windows are on two 1024 textures with the cement and windows sharing the same stacked texture space (I divided the cement footer into four parts with obvious "breaks in the pour" so that seams would appear to be naturally there. I can't stand repeating woodgrain so those boards are mapped individually (they could have been done in four sections that repeats also). The wood is still slightly blurry (not like the tiny bench I found with NINETEEN TEXTURES; it was SO CLEAR) but I can live with that. Handles will be added individually on the inside since they are small objects and didn't need to be figured into this window wall AND will ONLY be seen from short distances inside the house. I suspect a lot of us have learned from these new tools and it would be good to share how we are working differently so that newcomers can find the information in the archives. I am assuming that the new FS features will be integrated into the Linden viewer eventually, at least I certainly hope so. One thing that "I" discovered this last month or so with all the conversations is that while certainly not the thriftiest of all with my vertices and textures, I am MUCH closer to the game asset side of the equation that the majority of well-known and popular Home and Garden creators. That makes me happy really. I know I will never have yummy Maya bakes since I have no intention of starting a new learning curve. I know that it is unlikely I will be making my own LODs in the future except when I feel it will really help. But in the scheme of things I feel like I am doing a pretty good job of bridging super thrifty game asset and super pretty but OH so hard on the server and viewer designs. And for me -- that's good enough. We ARE supposed to be having fun here. The folks making the big bucks in RL can be perfect *wink*. PS. A quick upload using the uploader defaults gave me these results and a MUCH low land impact. So any thoughts on how you work differently now feel free to add. That was kind of the point of this post. I also needed to remind myself that I actually AM doing pretty well in the scheme of things; it was a difficult week in my corner of the virtual world.
