  1. Hi, I meet a strange phenomena that change my head lighting as on the attached view. My graphics setting is beetwen High and Ultra and this trouble happen when "Advances Lighting Model" option is checked. I'm using a face light but it's same when I take it off. It's happen only in some area but often on dance floors maybe because lights is different. I tryed with 5 other head demos (Catwa, Lelutka, Slink, Genesis, Starlust) and didn't get any trouble with. Skin shinniness setting is off. Is someone encountered the same issue?
  2. Hello I am working on making avatars and would like to add some animation functionality to them. For example, I'm trying to create a head with a movable jaw, controlled by a slider that goes from closed to fully open. The head is rigged to the bento bones, so what I'm trying to find out is if it is possible to control an animation in-world, frame by frame, or if I would have to cut the animation into individual animations for each frame, toggling between several animations along the slider to open and close the mouth (The latter option seeming quite wasteful). Secondly, I am slightly perplexed by what LSL functions would allow me to create such a slider in the first place, so any advice in a more right direction would be much appreciated. I'm guessing it would be something along the lines of llDetectedTouchUV, but I would rather ask for help before trying to re-invent the wheel!
  3. I've run into a very frustrating problem. I had used a deform animation given to me by my friend as a joke and it glitched my bento ears so they no longer position correctly. Resetting everything, scripts, skeletons, etc, and relogging has not fixed them. I am not using the wrong kind, they are the low far apart version and I double checked. I didn't expect this to happen and did not have a copy of the ears, I also don't want to just keep making copies whenever I mess up. There has to be a solution to this. They are meant to be on the sides of my head and worked perfectly for a long time until this incident. They are sweet thing neko bento ears. Please help me find a solution to fix this. Images of how they looked when positioned properly and how they are glitched (sticking up strangely) added.
  4. Seemingly out of nowhere, I started to have a problem with my Catwa head becoming deformed. I noticed my eye and eyebrow were skewed on December 25. The day before, I had a bento pet and a Grinch attached to my shoulder. I went to Catwa Friends group, and they suggested the issue might be that one of these had left a hidden animation behind. They offered me numerous suggestions, and I have tried all of them and more. To date, this is what I have done: Right clicked on my avatar and chose reset and then reset/skeleton and animations Gone to Avatar, Avatar Health and chosen everything in the menu at least once (stop avatar animations. revoke permissions, undeform avatar, force appearance update Taken the avatar back to the default female avatar and added everything fresh Had a new head and animation hud delivered, and worn those Added a different shape Added a new body Taken body parts off one by one, and checked to see if any made a difference. No one body part seemed to make a difference Gone to developer menu and looked to see what was running. There is an animation running in my left eye, but I do not know what to do to stop it. Stopped all active gestures. When i search active in inventory, there are no active gestures. This has happened with both Catya and Lona heads, Maitreya body, new out of the box, and different shapes. I know you see earrings in this pic, but I have taken off everything and started fresh, several times. When I redo everything, the face will look ok initially, but it will deform again after a time, or if I relog. I have never had anything like this happen before, and have done everything I can think of to fix it. So, I would love it if someone could help me with this.

  7. Hello, maybe one of you clever minds can help me with the following problem. I am working on a ring for Maitreya hands. In Blender 3D, I rigged the ring to the mHandMiddle2Right bone in the following way: Position and rescale the ring so it is located at/ around the bone mHandMiddle2Right Apply Rotation & Scale (CTRL+A) to the ring Select the ring and the armature and Set Parent to Armature - Deform With Empty Groups (CTRL+P) Switch the armature to Pose Mode (CTRL + TAB) and select mHandMiddle2Right Switch the ring to Weight Paint Mode (CTRL + TAB) and paint the ring with a weight of 1 (all red), all other groups are empty (zero weight) Rotating mHandMiddle2Right in Blender makes the ring follow perfectly Export the ring as Collada (.dae), selecting SL + OpenSim Rigged option In SL, I only have 1 attachment point per hand - mHandRing1Left or mHandRing1Right. I attach the ring to mHandRing1Right and manually move it to the position of mHandMiddle2Right. However, now the ring follows only mHandRing1Right, just as if the assigned weights of mHandMiddle2Right were overwritten. How can I make it follow mHandMiddle2Right instead?
  8. hi, looking for a bento maker to make a bento naga tail, it should have 2-3 simple stands 1-2 walks, a run or 2.. a jump, and plenty of ground sit options ,it should also be mod so that people can get creative and control the materials effects easy without an VERY un needed texture hud .. im thinking you should make this and list it and that i shouldn't have to pay extra for GIVING you this great idea .. but if you want me to pay you i can, under conditions that this tail would be mine to resell and not yours to hand out or sell.. but again im more then happy to just be the muse , there is a demand for this and as of now no great options are out there.. the 2 top pics have pretty big pitfalls and arnt bento anyway .. would be great is the upper part of the tail was on ONE left or right upper leg bone and then the rest use bento tail bones.. im thinking this might make it work with some standing poses that people already have in their ao .. i don't know.. maybe that last part is totally wrong, just an idea please send me and IM or NC in world, look fwd to hearing from you
  9. Hello, I am having issues with the Sophie Bento head. The skin is matching perfectly but there is a feathering around the neck where the head meets the body. it is NOT the skin issue its the head size issue. I have head set at 0 and have tried all the different sizes. I have a maitreya body. Can anyone help me? Also the teeth wont change for the head. It stays at Vamp and wont go to normal teeth. Thank you

  12. Hi I have managed a perfect fit between my Belleza Venus body and my Catwa bento head. However, there is a distinct line. I cannot change it with changing colour! Let me explain, in the front the bento head is paler than the body, but from behind, the body is paler than the head! Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks
  13. I am looking for an animator to create a few full permission eating and drinking poses for second life. Possibly with different bento hand poses that allow something as small as a french fry to fit in between fingers or something as large as burger. I would prefer the animations to be fluid as oppose to stiff. If interested please respond at your earliest convenience.
  14. Hello, I recently switched to an LAQ Bento Mesh head, and while it isn't perfect, I think it's pretty awesome and much better than the alternatives out there. One rather large problem I'm having with it however is that no one seems to be making skins for it. The LAQ skins seem to be all pretty much of a similar type and it's a type that I don't happen to like. I naively assumed that there would be third party skins for it just like all the other Bento heads out there and since LAQ's is one of the very best you can buy I was a bit surprised to find out that I can't find any skins other than LAQ's. I'm about 10,000 in on the LAQ head and skin options and I don't want to throw the investment away when a good skin would fix everything. The problem is that I'm a white, Nordic type person and I don't like the fashion model or "makeup-y" look. Out of the many skins available at LAQ, there are only like two that are even in the category. The lightest skin-tone on the LAQ spectrum (the 1.0" tone), is basically a very, very tanned white girl look as if the avatar has gone to the bronzing clinic and very shiny (as if we are all wearing makeup to the beach). All the rest are darker still and even more make-up-y. What I'm looking for is a "Nordic" white person skin, because that's what I am. Even the lightest LAQ skins, even with all makeup options turned off, have a lot of eyeliner and what looks like lipstick (although that might not be intentional). The LAQ eyebrows are also very thick and dark (even the light options). I'm certain this is the popular option and heavy brows are in keeping with what's popular in makeup today, but I'm old. I don't want to look like Kim Kardashian, I want to look like a white girl from the 1960's (i.e. my actual self). I realise different people have differing opinions, especially about makeup, and this isn't about me insulting LAQ, I just want to find a nice skin. Please only reply if you know of someone who makes skins for LAQ Bento heads. It will be pointless to have a thread with long arguments about whether my assessment of LAQ skins is accurate. As I said at the start, the LAQ Bento head is the best head I have found so far. I just don't like the skins and want something different from what is on offer.

  16. Hi all I'm looking for a nice set of ao suitable for bento hands and head Currently I'm using a hud named voir. Nice but some motions could be better, so I'm looking specifically for: stand, run and flight better animations. Any hint? Thanks
  17. Hi. I'm not desperate to follow the trend for mesh heads just yet, as my current look is not awful, but just out of curiosity I have been demoing all the reasonable-looking Bento heads I can find. I don't like the sourpuss mouth and slitty eyes of most of them, but Meli Imako Rooth (left) and Genesis Lena (right) come fairly close to the look I want. Rooth (2,000 L$) is really aimed at creators. It not have a HUD, and it needs improvement in looks and animations, but it is full-perm and I don't mind doing some technical work (scripting/texturing) to bring it up to standard, if that is possible. Lena (4,000 L$) is nicely done, but it has a high rendering complexity of about 35,000 and a high script count. The demo does not have a HUD, but from pictures on the website it seems there is no way to remove the scripts. It also does not accept Omega skins (but does accept Omega makeup/tattoos). There are no ears or animations with the demo either, so I have no way of knowing what they are like. It also has a problem with the bottom gums poking out through the chin at non-extreme shape settings, which I hope they would fix in an update. And it seems their support group is closed for new members; what that means I don't know. So, does anybody have opinions on these heads, or know of any others with similar looks that would be worth looking at? Thanks a lot.
  18. Hey yall, Im having what may be an issue with testing a bento animation/pose im working on. It seems to test fine at first, then it reverts the hand position to the default. not sure what is going on. Im new to the bento world, but not the animation world lol. Any help in the right direction would be great. Ive never had an issue before with the testing before the upload *shrug* Making it with blender avastar.   19. Newbie here with a quick question: I started off as a default vampire avatar called "Elleria." I now have a Maitreya mesh body (Lara) and a Catwa head (Cami), and I also purchased mesh eyes (simply titled "customeyes"). I want the shape of my character's eyes to be large and round (Google search Billie Lourd for an example), NOT slim (like Taylor Swift's eyes). The Cami head has slim eyes and is not Bento, which apparently means that I am unable to make the shape of her eyes rounder. Someone suggested that switching to a Bento head would solve the issue; however, regardless of the head I demo, I am unable to detach the original "Elleria eyes." Is there a way to do so? Am I missing something completely?!

When purchasing non-clothing attachments for your AV like wings, tails, headdresses, etc, is a smooth rigged mesh animation more important than the ability to resize the items or would you rather have slightly less perfect animations with attachments that you can resize however you want? I was working on making new animated wings and realized that if I make them mesh people won't be able to resize them, correct? I would have to offer a few sizes as I do now. I tried for a week to make Bento animated wings where the mesh was just an invisible base to attach flexi wings to but it seems impossible, because the prims want to float to an area not rigged rather than to the attached mesh pieces. So, it's either new mesh wings that are Bento animated and rigged with a few sizes in the package that can't be edited, or flexi prim wings with animations that do allow for editing/resize. Mesh would be more work and time for every new design, but if that is what people prefer to buy then it's worth it. Please comment with your preference if you have one ?
  21. I'm hoping I get a reply at some point, perhaps now that I have more specific questions it helps. I'm working on animating the SL avatar's wing bones in Blender / Avastar. I've made super simple little flattened cylinder mesh objects at the base of each wing bone in case I need something to attach my own flexi prims to. I know, everyone usually uses mesh, but I really am attached to the flexible nature of plain ol' flat prims as they move so nicely. So, if I import these wing bone animations into SL as an avatar animation with the two little simple cylinder meshes they are rigged to, will I then be able to attach the flexi prims to these little mesh wing bases? And, should the attachment points be to each wing bone, or each shoulder? I'm confused because some other Bento wings I've purchased attach to the shoulders, or to the spine, so considering the kind of setup I want how should I be exporting the animation / mesh base pieces / attachment points? Do I even need the little mesh objects to properly animate the wing bones for a set of prim wings or should I ditch those? I know it may help with seeing exactly where to attach the prims, but otherwise,...? This will be my first animation done outside of SL in another app, so forgive me if I'm asking stupid questions. I just want to be sure that what I am trying to do is even possible before wasting a lot of time and I have not been able to find the answers to my questions after much searching.

I'm back in SL after being mostly out of it for a few years beyond popping in to pay tier fees, and I was really excited to hear about the new Bento wing bones that all the new avatars supposedly have as wings are the main thing I create here. What I want to know is, how would I go about animating JUST the bento wing bones? I don't need articulated mesh, because these are fairy wings, so they move more like insect wings - basically flat panels that move back and forth from the base and that's it. I did find some Bento wing animations that were just the animations, but it didn't work out right and probably because the movements were made for angel or demon wings, which move differently. Are there tutorials for how to animate the bento bones by themselves, so that whatever is attached to those bones would move? What would I require, and is there any way to get it done in-world? I have a really old version of Poser, Blender and ZbrushCore (though I am new at both, or at least, rusty enough to seem new) and can't afford to shell out for anything like full Zbrush or Maya. I would love to be pointed in the right direction, or even to be told that animating the Bento wing bones in this way would not work for what I want so I can stop searching for info Thanks in advance! I did just buy an animation kit that works like the older one I used in SL, so if Bento isn't the way to go I'll just stick with animating them the older way. For reference, this is a set of my wings and that is one of the types of wing flutter I want along with a fast flutter and open/close positions, I'm just thinking doing it with the Bento bones would be better, right?
  23. I tried several saved AV's with outfits n wings etc. Every single one now has bento wings attaching to my knees LOL, its just weird! Is there an known recent issue?
  24. Hello, I just purchased the SKING Katena body to go with my Catya mesh head but I seem to be having a bit of an issue with getting the skin tones of the neck and body to match up. I reached out to SKING support and they mentioned that using the tint slider on the head would work but I've had no luck. Has anyone had any luck with fixing this issue?
