  1. Ok so this is probably pretty simple and i could figure it out myself, but I am not able to get on SL at the moment, and I can get on here, and people here can be so helpful. I recently upgraded to a mesh head, I am using the Mayreal Bento head, and had been using it with a demo eyeshadow, and a lipstick that took way to long to load on my viewer. So i decided to ditch them both and start over. Because I wasn't sure how to remove the appliers for them I just removed the head and added a new one and then reapplied the skin. All that worked fine, except now I have this white place on my head where a hair base should be, Before I didn't have that my whole head was the color of my skin. Problem is this white space shows as a white border around my hair. My hair looked fine before, but now looks pretty lame, I assume I had done something to get my head to be uniformly the skin color, but I have no clue. So I was hoping someone might know right away what I need to do, so I don't have to spend the first 30 minutes of my time online in the morning playing with it. Thanks
  2. As I swim deeper into tutorials and manuals about Bento heads, I am more awed than ever by the artistry and skill that goes into these creations. I'm in the planning stage for animated movies that use Bento-enabled facial expression. Current heads meet many of my needs, but sliders can't quite achieve a particular shape I'm seeking for special applications of projected light. As an animator with crude modeling skills, I could conceivably sculpt and rig this shape on my own. Would that mean weeks of study and $$, or months and $$$$ (for Mudbox or Zbrush)? What about commissioning the shape from a 3D sculptor and paying another artist to Bento-ize it? Could a major creator easily produce a variant, which she could then sell in her store? I realize there may be many possibilities. Before I choose a path, I'm just seeking perspectives from this expert community. Thank you!
  3. Hello! I started to use Blender for Bento Poses. Anyone here have experience? Here are some questions: How should I save the pose in Blender? I wanted to sell only Hands animation without posing is it possible? Where can I find the script for HUD to change specific animation (hands, face) by clicking on it at Main screen? I never sold things like that in SL but I want start! Any help would be appreciated, Thank you all for the kindness. Rumi

  5. Hello, i have problems with my bento head layers (neck tattoo, hairbase and beard) and i hope im right here. Beard and neck tattoo are on the same layer and the hairbase not. Hairbase and neck tattoo works but if i add the beard the neck tattoo lose some parts as you can see on the picture. How can i fix this? Thank you Baracu
  6. Does anyone have an extra bento mesh head that they didnt totally love? although i've been on secondlife for almost a year, there's still a lot of learning i have to do with mesh bodies and shapes. And so I am asking for a bento head. Thanks

I've been doing some research for an avatar project and had a question: Project Bento's skeleton added a LOT of bones for making non-human avatars, but there still seems to be a deficiency in it for avatars with long, articulating necks, like dinosaurs and Dragons, being that there is only the single neck bone. What can you all tell me about the parameters of the limitation (or am I wrong about that)? Are there any "proper" (ie, supported) workarounds for it? I am not too crazy about deform anims, especially since I have read that LL fixed the uploads to disallow them as part of the Bento update. Thank you in advance for any info and suggestions!
  9. For some reason, my hands have stopped animating when I use bento poses. I have tried with the Maitreya and my Vista hands but nothing is working. Have I fubared a setting? Help!
  10. Hello, I'm a Lelutka Bento head user and I've seen that there is this amazing Bubblegum that you can get at the Catwa store that's Bento enabled. I can't try it because there is no demo, and I can't buy it, because it isn't on MP and I'm banned from the Catwa store and all their properties and holdings anyway (lol). I *can* get someone to purchase it for me and give it to me as a gift, but the big question is .... ... will it work as well for Lelutka as it does for Catwa? Has anyone with a Lelutka head tried this gum? Did it work? I'm looking for a quick review (also not available because it's not on MP). Any help appreciated, Sylvia
  11. Hi there guys. I purchased my shape around 1 year ago. I've read the advantages of new Bento shapes, but I don't want to buy another shape because I'd lose my "identity" hehe. And the most attractive feature of Bento shapes for me is finger movement So what do you suggest? Would I buy bento hands? or would I buy a new shape anyway. Thank you!
  12. Hi, I’m trying to make a simple pet-attachment in Blender animated with Bento skeleton. I created (test): mesh model with weights and animation. Now, it works in Blender only. I found a suggestion that it should be done with Avatar. I bought, activated Avatar. Seems that It enabled animation uploading in SL what was a part of problem (without it I had 'Failed to upload animation(...)' notices). But I still don’t have a working animated pet. What I have now after upload to SL (created/exported from Blender with Avatar Adddon active) are: my animation (working with Bento skeleton) STATIC mesh model of pet attached to avatar During mesh model upload option for skin weights are unavailable. When I export mesh from Blender I have Armature modifier. I made already animated pets in SL (with Blender and baked frames script/method). I also made weighted clothing in SL with Blender earlier. YT tutorials brought me this far, but I feel stack now.
  13. Hello there, I have been working on a lipstick texture for the CATWA bento head for a while now. It looks alright, but when I try to make the texture semi transparent, it comes out with sharp edges and no transparency anywhere. I have used the steps to make an alpha mask in the alpha channel by selection, even did the steps to mess with the levels of the colouring to make it more transparent in Alpha channel, saved it as a 32bit .TGA file, even as a PNG file, but the lipstick remains harsh lined and opaque. I used several tutorials for this, hoping it would work, but no matter if the steps are all done, it just does not show up as transparent. I am testing it on the test sample heads provided by CATWA, this being my first time working on SL textures doesn't make it easier. Can someone please help me in figuring out how to get the lipstick to look transparent towards the lipline.   15. Question: should I really now buy a head skin? I have bought CATWA Daniel head, but I see everyone (well, girls) buying then after a skin. Are the added face skins really better quality than the one that comes with the the current head I have? Why don't they sell like 'blank' heads for less?
  16. Hi, I am having a problem with my Slink bento hands. They have this tendency to disappear into my body when certain animations are running. One of the AO's I am using has a few fold-arms-across-my-chest animated stands and when my arms are crossed each hand gets absorbed in the other forearm and it looks pretty terrible. The same happens with some hands on hips pose animations. The hand doesn't know where to stop but ends up disappearing into my side. Is there any solution to this or do I just have to learn to live with these glitches in animations? Are there any AO's that are tailor made for specific bodies that might avoid the issue? I am wearing a Slink Physique body with the new Slink bento hands. Thanks! Saga

  18. Hi, To simply sum it up, I'm trying to make my first Bento tail. I want it to be longer and larger than the default bone set up for the tail and from what people have told me, modifying the bones is possible because when uploading, I can include joint positions. My issue is is that when I modify the bones, it deforms my mesh badly and the tail does not move exactly with the bones, even when I manually paint the weights for them. Without modifying the Tail bones and using automatic weights, it works fine. But then if I try to resize the tail, it does not bend correctly. Manually fixing the weights after I have resized the skeleton doesn't work either. I want to know if there is a correct way to resize the tail bones without this happening and if not, how to make the tail larger and longer. Thanks.

  20. The recent update to the Lelutka Simone Bento head has included mesh eyes for the first time which is great, and they are (mostly) very well done, but ... Has anyone found a way to get rid of the redish brown shadow on them? I love the texture of the iris itself and the gloss etc., but this red-brown shadow is driving me nuts! Every time I look down or up, or to one side, all you can see in my eyeball is brown. I'm basically wondering if there is a toggle to turn it off that I'm missing. Alternatively, anyone got links to some good mesh eyes that are compatible with Lelutka heads? I'm looking for just regular eyes, not elf eyes, or dragon eyes or any kind of specialty eyes etc. Thanks in advance, Sylvia :-)

  22. I have received update for Maitreya Lara Body with Bento hands. Im replacing links in my APPEARANCE folders. I did the adjustments to height and body fat (boob & butt too) first and going through and replacing the links for the updated ML avi now. I have x7 main ones to replace and each item to 2 thousand odd places (OMG yes) in the appearance folder. Each set takes my computer about an hour and a half. Really it sounds a lot but once its set up, it runs itself. I open 2 Inventory screens and then the command to Replace Links, find the old link in one (Source) and the new link to the other (Target)....seven times over. Some time later, maybe when I wear the outfit I can delete the old links which still show up but are not active. They just take up space. Lots of space because Ive done this before, a few times, with other changes. My question..... Is there a way to delete the old links, without wearing each outfit? .
