  1. I bought an expensive mesh avatar. The default skin is too light for the head. I right click on the avatar, the complete avatar is automatically selected(full avatar no upper or lower body section) i then go to edit to apply a darker texture. I pick the upper body texture and the upper body looks good. The lower body looks messed up(various tones of color). When I select the lower body texture it messes up the texture of the entire avatar. I think they are being stretched. Ultimately the issue is that I can not apply both textures at the same time. How do I do that or how can I fix my problem?
  2. Hello all, being a Beginner at scripting I have still have questions. Several of those will look easy for most, but yeah. The basic idea is, that an Avatar is sitting on my object and then he should turn invisible so that only the object is visible. I'm guessing that this is possible with RLV. @detach[:attachpt]=force (*) and force attach somehow.... hope you got some pointers for me

Hi there I'm looking for a little bit of help in that, I'm seeking someone to custom make an avatar for me (Well aware it will be paid in RL money to compensate for time spent working on it, unless you'd prefer L$?) But I can supply images to anyone interested. So far from the top of my head the kind of things that would be necessary are.. somewhat unique avatar animations for the AO, and maybe a colour change HUD. I dont want to say it will be simplistic because the design isnt "complicated", as I dont know how difficult it could potentially be. I'm inexperienced. This will be for personal use, and for my partner. You can respond to me here or in SL with a notecard to Ash Kanashimi if you prefer :) If you can help, or know someone who can, that'd be great :) Thanks!
  4. Hola Llevo ya una década en la plataforma, aunque no ando siempre ahí, a veces me desaparezco por mucho tiempo. Cuando dejé de entrar constantemente a SL apenas comenzaban a salir los artículos Mesh, primero como muebles, ropa y cabello. Los cuerpos no eran todavía un boom. He regresado no hace mucho, ya conocía algo la temática del Mesh y usar sus alphas, etc. Pero ahora deseo un cuerpo. Inlcuso tengo muchos regalos de pieles, accesorios, etc pero son para cuerpos Mesh. PERO... a la hora de buscar, que lío se me hace en la cabeza, con tantos tipos, que si maitreya, hourglass, etc. No se en que consiste cada uno y por ende no se como elegir el adecuado. Tengo un Body de regalo muy chulo, pero no dice que tipo es y los regalos que tengo, aunque tienen muchos tipos de medidas, no le quedan ninguno. Tengo otro curvy pero las ropa Curvy no le queda. Las cabezas ni hablar, cual es mejor? que tipos hay? etc. Sinceramente mi cabeza clasica no me desgrada nada, me tardé mucho en hacer mi shape y quedó chulo, no veo super necesario cambiar a mesh totalmente, pero si encuentro uno que me enamore ni hablar, habrá que invertirle jaja. He encontrado videos muy malos en youtube donde solo muestran los cuerpos pero no explican nada. Necesito una guía que expliquen todo, los "appliers" en que consisten, como se usan, etc. Ojalá puedan ayudarme, guiarme a foros con la info porque no encuentro ninguno con esta info que requiero, he encontrado tutoriales pero ya muy viejos y no hay sobre lo moderno. Antes en SL había sitios donde te ayudaban pero ahora no hay nadie ahí. Saludos a todos y de antemano gracias. Si pudieran recomendarme tiendas con DEMOS completos para comprenderlos estaría super.
  5. SO! To start off, I am making a bodysuit for the Signature Alice mesh body. Since it’s a new body I like quite a bit, want clothing, sell clothing, etc. I got the Dev Kit, but I replaced the armature/pose with the workbench on one of Avastar’s blog post. (NOT the plugin you buy). The devkit armature didn’t work, so thats why. I tried to bento skeleton but I couldn’t seem to get the grid to recognize the skin weights. So I’m trying with the default, non-bento armature. I used the weight transfer option when attaching the bodysuit to the pose/armature as well. Which makes it rigged perfectly to how I want it to be so far. NOW. When I upload to the beta grid to test, everything is fine... BUT. It is not deformed to the Signature Alice mesh body (which I have on the file for reference). It looks more deformed for the classic avatar? I was wondering if anyone who has dealt with rigging clothes to a mesh body has any tips or tricks to deal with this? I am using Blender 2.8 (which so far does the same thing as 2.79 and honestly has an easier UI than 2.79). I do NOT have the Avastar plugin (don’t plan on having it anytime soon). I am using a default, non-bento skeleton (couldn’t get the bento skin weights recognized). And I am a complete beginner at this. XD I literally started less than a week ago. My Process ——— Rig bodysuit to armature using Armature Deform with Weight (something) Rigged perfectly fine. Export as DAE file and choosing the dropdown option for SL+OpenWorld rigged Upload (all good so far yepperz) Wear Rigged good... ... ..Not deformed to mesh body (Signature Alice)... TLDR: I got a mesh body devkit (Alice Signature) switched armature to default non bento skeleton because the devkit one wasn’t recognized as well as the bento skeleton, rigged it well (great even if I say so), upload normal with all the skin weight checkbox... but it isn’t deformed to the meshbody from the devkit. So I’m asking how to get it where it is scaled and deformed to the mesh body. Do not have Avastar and using Blender 2.8 btw.
  6. Accidentally posted this on another thread: I am newly back to SL after several years. I realized my classic body, though I loved it so much, is very inferior compared to the new mesh bodies, and also it is very hard finding any new clothing. So I got an Ebody which I LOVE, however I cannot get any shoes to work. Not even the Ebody ones from the ebody store, set to the right height and all that. My foot is way above the shoe, no matter what I do, and the heel is way behind my foot. I have been trying for hours to get my new self in one piece and looking good So frustrated! I have a wrong colored head with no hair right now as well...I guess I have to get a different head somehow, but cannot figure out what to do to match up. Mesh has so many different things to figure out, I don't know how any newbie can manage it! Sorry...back to the shoe thing..anyone have any ideas? I tried hover height and all that. Any help so appreciated!

  9. So, I am someone who loves playing around with different looks on SL. I go above and beyond (at least in my book) to make my avatar look different and spectacular; whether it be (small amounts of) particles, a weird item, etc. I will always incorporate it into my outfit. (I have provided some photos as examples.) The reasoning for me doing this is because I recently came back to SL (just a few months ago) because I was bored and was looking for something to do. Then bam, it hit me...So now I am back on SL making weird outfits for inspiration of making art and other things. Now my questions are to any of you who reply or read this topic on here: If you do make your avatar custom to your appeal, what kind of things or items to you use to help with that? What are your favorite looks you've made? (Feel free to post photos! I'd love to see!!!) If you could make any look with any items provided on SL, what would you envision on that look to be? Do you like to show off those looks? (Personally I do, just for fun!) Feel free to discuss anything of avatar customization within this thread. I'd love to see some ideas flourish and photos if you have any cool, fashionable, weird, etc. looks you've made! Thanks for reading and I look forward to seeing some interesting replies. - Gill

    Project Muscadine

    Where to test How to test Known bugs and limitations How to report issues Project Muscadine is a set of new features and bug fixes related to animesh customization. Currently the project has implemented LSL scripting commands that allow customization of animesh objects, similar to the kinds of customizations you can do with your avatar using sliders. In its current state the project will be of interest primarily to content creators who want to experiment with upcoming features for animesh. Behavior will likely change as we add more features and fix bugs. The behavior of any current features may change in future builds. Where to test To take advantage of the new commands, you will need to be in a region that supports them, and will need to be using a supported viewer. Currently some regions of the Aditi test grid have the necessary support, including Animesh1, Animesh2, Animesh3, and Animesh Adult. These regions also have a gift box where you can get test objects that demonstrate various animesh capabilities. Objects rezzed in these areas will be returned after 1 day. The latest muscadine viewer can be found on the alternate viewers page. How to test If you want to see animesh visual params in action, visit one of the animesh test regions listed above, and click on the gift box in the center of the region. This will give you various items, including one with a name starting “Aditya Visual Params Demo”. Rez one of these and right click->touch it. You will see a dialog with various options. “Tall”, “Short” and “Medium” can be used to set the dimensions of the test object. The test object is using new LSL commands to modify its visual param (slider) values. The new scripting commands are llGetAnimatedObjectVisualParams() and llSetAnimatedObjectVisualParams(). These commands can be run in any script contained in an animesh object. llSetAnimatedObjectVisualParams() takes a list of alternating params and values, and has no return value. Parameters are specified by integer id. There are corresponding LSL constants for the parameters that are known to be useful. For any slider listed in the Bento skeleton guide, there is a corresponding constant VP_<name>. For example, slider Hand Size (id 675) corresponds to the LSL constant VP_HAND_SIZE, and slider Height (id 33) corresponds to the constant VP_HEIGHT. Values are floats in the range [0..1]. So you could set the height and hand size of an animesh object to their maximum values using: llSetAnimatedObjectVisualParams([VP_HEIGHT, 1.0, VP_HAND_SIZE, 1.0]); or llSetAnimatedObjectVisualParams([33, 1.0, 675, 1.0]); llGetAnimatedObjectVisualParams() works similarly for querying visual params. It takes a list of visual param IDs (specified as numbers or VP_ constants), and returns a list of values. If you query a visual param that is valid but has never been set, you will get the value -1. For example, after running one of the above commands for llSetAnimatedObjectVisualParams(), you could say: list values = llGetAnimatedObjectVisualParams([VP_HEIGHT, VP_HAND_SIZE, VP_BIG_EARS]); integer i = 0; integer end = llGetListLength(values); llOwnerSay("Got " + (string)end + " values"); for (; i<end; ++i) { llOwnerSay(llList2String(values,i)); } This would fetch and display the values [1.0, 1.0, -1.0]. Speed limit: currently you can only change params for an animesh object every few seconds. If you exceed this rate, you will get an LSL error. This limit is intended to prevent very expensive uses of the feature, such as for real time animation. The exact limit may change in the future. Known bugs and limitations There is currently no constant defined for VP_HOVER. You can use the numeric value 11001. Note that this sets the Hover parameter normally associated with the avatar shape, which is not the same thing as the Hover Height avatar property. Hover Height is not currently supported for animesh objects. Editing the vertical position of an animesh object does not persist correctly. The object tends to return to ground level over a few seconds. This will be fixed in a future build. How to report issues Note that because this is a project viewer, it may not be as stable as a normal release viewer. It is based on the EEP (environment enhancements project) viewer codebase, so it may have any graphics issues that are present in the EEP viewer. Please report any issues you find by filing a JIRA with [Muscadine] in the title.

  12. Hello! I am trying to rig a non T-pose character. Its in an "I"-pose actually, arms are down, legs together. So I rig it, everything is fine, but how do I get it back to T-pose before I upload it? Alt+R dont work. And another thing. It seems bones are somehow locked, they dont move 360 degrees, its fine but still curious how to disable it. Any help please?

I am interested in acquiring intimate (feminine) parts within SL although I am quite confused about the brands, the qualities of each one and its operation. I'm looking for something quite realistic because my avatar is like that.I am wearing a Maitreya body I was state visiting certain stores like Xcite! And Vaw but I'm still pretty confused. Especially because I just went to the Xcite store, i has heard good reviews to other people , and now I'm not sure if it will get an update of the private parts for women soon. My query is the following, according to your experience. Which brands lead the market and offer a better quality and realism? Thank you
  14. Hello! I am trying to create an avatar using machinimatrix workbench and I had to bend the skeleton, I decided to try to set the weight manually and applied the armature with empty weight groups. Weight painted and checked all in pose mode, part of the bones i don't use and deleted them from weight groups window. i applied rotation, location and scale to the skeleton and to the model, created a static pose. but the avatar is distorted when uploading and pose dont work proper. please tell me what was wrong?

Hello, I'be been looking for a script that would be able to change the color of the avatar idly. like slowly fading throughout the rainbow or a bunch of colors listed inside the script to appear across the body. Been having no luck trying to get it to work myself. I'm not to familiar with coding myself, more so I'm looking for someone to make it for me.   17. Hello! I'm trying to figure out the hierarchy of bones names in the SL. Here is the hierarchy of the bones of my model: and SL default model: As you can see on one "branch" I have 4 "branches" (or parent and children - I'm not sure), and on the other there are five. There is no such thing on default SL model. I start with mPelvis as root, but I don’t know what to do next. please, help! What names should I give to my bones so that the download is successful?

  19. Hello! I'm trying to rig a bento hand for avatar, but every time unsuccessfully. Can someone give a link to a good non - Avastar tutorial or explain in your own words what I'm doing wrong? here is the process i use: -- downloaded bento workbench from this site. -- opened in a blender. -- I create an object (hand). -- I place the object and the skeleton on one layer. -- I select object, then a skeleton. -- I hit control + P. -- I choose the Armature deform -- With automatic weights. -- I check if it works in a Pose Mode. -- I export in a collada format with object and skeleton both selected. -- These are the settings I set when exporting. -- When uploading a model, this is the screen (weights and joints are not displayed). that's all. I do not use Avastar, because I am not familiar with it. can this be done without it? what am I doing wrong? With a regular skeleton rig, everything works out perfectly, the process is the same. How is bento different from normal besides more bones? And do i need to delete unused bones? Please, help!

  24. Hello! In the Open Sim in one of the landing points (Lani Mall) there is a kind of path that pushes the avatar forward. You don't even have to move or go, it delivers you to the mall. a kind of "horizontal escalator". How is this done? using a script? and how to repeat this effect?
