If you posted that photo in the "child or adult?" thread, I'd bet you L$100 that it'd get 99% child votes.

Many of the groups I'm in are very chatty. It all depends on the people and the topic of the group. Roleplay groups are often full of people socializing while they play.

So if you think the avatar looks like: a child (17 or younger) then react with a like, for an adult (18 and over) use thanks, and use confused if you can't tell based on physical appearance alone.

Possibly Changing Your Region To Adult Due To TOS?
Arwyn Quandry replied to Luna Bliss's topic in General Discussion Forum
The premise of this thread is ridiculous. LL has said repeatedly that they can see what your avatar was wearing and who appeared on what region when. No rogue troll in a child avatar is going to get you banned by derendering your skirt. Unclutch your pearls.- 86 replies

Lindens Statements from Governance Meeting
Arwyn Quandry replied to James Starling's topic in General Discussion Forum
Oh, come on. There's plenty of media that features child characters being injured, using weapons, dying. Children bring a unique emotional impact to storytelling and there's plenty of reasons to use a child character in a dangerous or violent scenario. -

Lindens Statements from Governance Meeting
Arwyn Quandry replied to James Starling's topic in General Discussion Forum
The folks at the meeting raised a good point about female infants and toddlers needing to wear 'bras'. That's definitely weird and more sexualizing than nothing. Perhaps LL might compromise by allowing skins with no chest details (no nipples or breast shading) to go without the 'bra'? Policies like this need some nuances to allow for the diversity of SL avatars. -
Lindens Statements from Governance Meeting

I do see the tricky situation of the cubs - furry kids - caught up in this. In case Tommy decides to read this whole thread too (and I truly feel for him if he does - get another cup of coffee, man!) I'd suggest an extra option: Let kid mesh bodies implement a modesty layer in the body itself. I'm not 100% up on the technical stuff, but it seems like on a BOM body, you could opt to have certain parts render with a solid texture instead of the BOM texture. That way the skin underneath shows with the modesty layer on the body while not needing the skin itself to be modified in any way. -

That's the tricky bit. Since wolves have six nipples, they'd need three!- 895 replies

Lindens Statements from Governance Meeting
Arwyn Quandry replied to James Starling's topic in General Discussion Forum
An interesting point to add to this: Pretty much all of the popular kid bodies are made for toddler-age kids. There's only one kid body I know of that has a breast option for older tween girls - and the maker of that body is part of the whole kerfuffle that kicked these changes off in the first place. The options just don't exist, especially if you're trying to avoid buying from that person. -

The requirement of baked on perma-undies on all under 18s is going to present some real problems for teen avatars. They mostly use adult skins. Are adult skinmakers going to have to start including perma-undie versions on all of their body skins? Is that even likely? I wish I knew some to ask. -
Modesty Patch Discussion

I don't see any reason the back strap on the 'female' top half would be necessary for modesty. You could probably end it underneath of the arms and it would still cover everything it needs to cover. -
Creators who stopped creating:
Arwyn Quandry replied to MrsCerise Blackheart's topic in General Discussion Forum
Ryker Beck of Exodi - I ran into her on Reddit a little while back and just had to tell her how I still wear some of her pieces. She made such beautiful jewelry! Delora Starbrook of Haven Designs - Selfishly, I miss my wifey. Saw her a few weeks back and I'm hoping she keeps logging in. RC Cluster, The Sea Hole, and Artilleri have been mentioned - I loved these places so much! No new shop has quite captured the magic of any of them.- 78 replies

So what changed in the Terms of Service?
Arwyn Quandry replied to Lucia Nightfire's topic in General Discussion Forum
A point I've been thinking about: I enjoy shopping. Sometimes I wind up at a clothes shop on G-rated land and want to demo. It's a little nerve-wracking changing clothing on G land because nudity isn't allowed. I've yet to have any issues with being reported for a nip slip while putting on a new shirt but I always wonder about clothing mainstores that use G land and why they make that choice. It seems weird to put your customers in the awkward position of having to overzealously cover their bits while trying your items. -
It's all very nice to say but I think we need to remember that LL employees are humans and thus exactly as flawed as every other human. People are always going to favor those close to them for opportunities and awards. Of course I'm going to say that my pet charity should win a free region, just like you think yours deserves it. Is it fair? Nope, but that's how society tends to work. People give favors to those they like. Some oversight might help but conflicts of interest will happen.

We don't. We let LL do that because it's their job, not ours, to make people aware of the rules. -

Again, since people aren't getting it: HEIGHT IS NOT THE SOLE FACTOR DETERMINING WHAT IS OR ISN'T A CHILD. -

Never gonna happen because all Linden Homes are on M rated land and LL likes money. -

Completely agree with this. Searching MP, I've seen plenty of absolutely disturbing string bikinis and thongs made for child avatars. Do they cover the nipples/crotch? Sure, but barely, and they're incredibly inappropriate. Having minimum coverage standards would provide actual guides instead of leaving it up to the individual to determine what's ok (and risk themselves/their customers getting banned if LL disagrees). -

Still curious how this is going to impact teen avatars who RP as under 18 but don't wear skins or clothing from "child" avatar creators... -

Well, is it a female presenting nipple or a male presenting nipple?
