Prok. I was on the TG. I ran a blog about it. You called me Teen FIC back in the day. I think I know a few things about the TG. Do not lecture me.

Considering this thread was posted after the "gone dark" thread went up, I'm not too concerned.

Why tho? Masochism?

Linden Lab gone dark again ?

I don't know how you continue to be one of the best resources in SL for factual analysis, Daniel. Your commitment is honorable. -
Yeah ASR was really popular on the TG. I'm pretty sure I still have some of their weapons and armor hanging around my inventory. Never joined but I think it was mostly like a fantasy paintball game, lots of pretend wars with the other military groups in damage enabled zones. I'm guessing they're still around if they're still paying for parcels. Just derender the things if you find them annoying.

Linden Lab gone dark again ?

I wonder if someone big is in legal trouble or got arrested? Some investigations take months to play out. I know a guy who got in trouble for something on Discord. His account was banned in October but the cops didn't show up to his house until February. -
Popular themes can be hard to grab. You have to wait for someone to either abandon theirs or for LL to build new ones. The best thing you can do is regularly check the available homes page and hope that one pops up. They do appear occasionally.

Former TGer - I can't think of any reason this parcel would be significant beyond the water access and the fact that it's essentially an island. Nice space, honestly, but I can't imagine spending that much on G-rated land.

I recently listed my first item for sale on MP and had to have a good think over how to price it. I knew the price point I wanted, but had wiggle room within it. Did I set it at 100? 99? 90? I kept thinking over what the most compelling price would be on a psychological level. IRL, businesses will often price at points like 6.95 or 6.99, because it's nearly to the next dollar without giving customers the ick feeling of seeing that dollar place number change to a 7. Do you think the same principle applies in SL, where price points like $499 or 495 are the most compelling for customers, or do you see more success with round numbers like 250 or 100, or another price?

I wonder if results from the previously mentioned investigation are finally coming out and triggering conversations? Not that I expect an investigation actually found anything damning that they'd share with us, more likely figuring out how to roll out "we looked and we found we're innocent" without inciting a riot. -
The all-in-one Home Furnishings Topic!

These super cute lamps are on sale for Wanderlust Weekend and just scream "Put me in your Fantasseria home!" -
Currently, being able to select a specific parcel is a Premium Plus only feature which is highly desirable. Some folks who are on monthly Premium plans have upgraded to PP in order to pick a parcel, then downgraded the next month. Others have tried this with a yearly premium plan and found themselves accidentally locked into a yearly PP plan. A few more are Lifetime Premium users and can't upgrade at all unless they want to go to lifetime PP when slots are available. I think LL should consider making a parcel selection available for a fee to Premium users. Rather than having the hassle of upgrading and downgrading, or being totally locked out by Lifetime Premium, a fee for parcel selection would simplify the process and bring this highly desirable feature to more users. I'd be happy to pay between $25 and $40 USD a pop to pick my perfect parcel. What about you?

Oh, that's super useful, I'm saving that.

The Non Linden Home Picture Thread - Mainland Only
Arwyn Quandry replied to Ingrid Ingersoll's topic in Mainland
Perhaps not a "home" by the strictest definition, but I'm pleased with how this little slice of mainland on Route 7B has turned out. -

Can You Not Just Leave Us Alone Now?

Hello. Former Teen Gridder here. You do not want that back. The TG was under resourced and rampant with copybotting. As much as I miss certain elements of it and the sense of community it had, I'd never say that bringing it back was a solution to anything. Trust those of us who have been there, done that. -

I have a tiny number of non mesh hairs I'll still wear. The key is none have actual flexi bits. They're sculpted updos. That helps them remain modern. Wearing full bright hair with visible prim bumps... It's a choice, and not one I'd make of my own free will. -

Oh god, don't remind me! The squinty eyes, massive frowns, super wide hips, itty bitty thighs, and huge butts! It was everywhere! What looks good as a shape in SL is deeply subjective. Everyone has their own tastes and what's one person's yum yum can't get enough is another person's embodiment of a vomit emoji. Big butts, MAZE thighs, Petite chests, slim shoulders, love handles, waifu boobs - all subjective. But can we now collectively agree that invisible pony rider b*tch face was not a good look? -

Gonna be real, whenever I hear about a new female mesh body being put out these days, I sort of sigh because there's so, so many of them and virtually none get any real push, even from larger designers. The market is saturated and it's going to take a change in technology for anything to differentiate itself at this point. -
I'm glad you found it! I was searching MP for something like it and was shocked when I couldn't find anything, so I made one myself and listed it on a whim. Hopefully it helps lots more folks set their houses up the way they want.

If you're just pulling that straight from the BB site without exporting the data and accounting for multiple versions of the same body, you're not getting an accurate picture. Many people are wearing older versions of bodies. Last I checked, Signature was the most worn male body when accounting for all versions, but some people will insist that Legacy M is the most popular. -

On the front of being intimate with non-mesh avs, I know a guy who's had the same system av with prim hair since I met him in 2009. The dude gets more ass than virtually any other guy I know. He's got a way with words and a wicked sense of humor that makes e-panties drop, despite his questionable exterior. -

The "Maitreya is for old people/Maitreya is dying" discourse is absolutely braindead and I'm certain those who believe it are, at most, 23. Maitreya remains the most popular mesh body in SL by a long, long, LONG shot. It's versatile and appeals to a wide variety of users. Meanwhile, Reborn looks like it's smuggling a watermelon in its butt no matter what you do with the sliders and Legacy's owners have historically awful business practices that they never answered for, but that's just my opinion. Wear whatever you want - mesh, system, primitars, it's all pixels.- 453 replies

Aw yeah, I can get with this challenge, and doubly interpret it to mean "look good wearing as old of things as possible". I pulled in a few of my favorites here. This hair from fri.day is pre-mesh sculpties but still looks incredible and my earrings are from Exodi circa 2009. Side note, I still love a lot of Exodi stuff and wish I could wear it more. The scripts are unfortunately not modern and tend to set off high script alerts on sims. My necklace is a favorite. It was only sold once, for the final round of the original FLF, and it says "In Barb We Trust". What I'm wearing: Shirt: -tres blah- Strappy Cami (2015) Sweater: -tres blah- Catby Shrug (2015) Skirt: -Pixicat- Autumn Skirt (2014) Shoes: fri. - Oakley Heels (2015) Earrings: :: Exodi :: Alysha Earrings (2009) Necklace: (Yummy) 50L Coin Necklace (2011) Bracelet: EarthStones Tumbled Stones Bracelet (2012) Hair: fri. Kristen (2010?) Nails: Imeka Nails Polish - Pack 03 FingerNails (2015?) Everything else: Modern (2020+)
