Everything, or nearly everything, in the SL default library is full perm. My assumption is that Senra will be the same.

One thing LL could do to really help with the promotion of the Senra line will be adding a dedicated category for it to MP. Make it a top-level category and promote it on the front page so it's highly visible. Not only would that help new players because they can directly link to a category and say "these are clothes that will fit you" vs the more confusing shopping experience in the apparel section, it could provide an incentive to some creators to add Senra sizes to their lines in order to be included in a highly visible category.

I genuinely wasn't sure which person you were talking about in this picture until the second post because both avatars in frame are half naked.

Retired last names potentially coming back
Arwyn Quandry replied to Sakura Sands's topic in General Discussion Forum
Surnames could make great prizes for giveaways, either letting someone pick any name from previous post-Resident releases or letting them pick some of the names released in a group. I'd enter that contest in an instant. I'm also in favor of a top ten best names re-release. Since the new names are less tied to time than the old ones, I don't see an issue with bringing them back. -
Perfect. If you're looking to go on the younger end of the spectrum with minimal new purchases, Kaya + Maitreya + V-Tech would be able to get you in the 12 to 14 range, no problem. For clothing, try Boys to the Bone, and skins, try Gloom's older line, which includes options for flat-chested Maitreya avatars. Not sure if their new line has that option. Here's two examples of androgynous 12-ish shapes that use Kaya. For the older end, 14 - 16, Logan and Belleza Jake might work. Jake can go surprisingly small. I've been able to tune it to the point that my Jake and Maitreya shapes are nearly the same. Again, I'd recommend Gloom's older line for skins because they tend to have rather soft faces. I'm happy to drop you a copy of my body shapes for examples of how to tune them.

Maitreya + V-Tech has a good amount of clothing but much of it is femme or very revealing. For a boy more on the 12 to 13 end of the spectrum, I'd actually recommend the Tweenster body. It's a kids body so it gets less attention from SL as a whole but some of the clothing for it is excellent and has more of that young masc look. The creator, MeshMerized, makes the best clothes for it. There's also Tweeneedoo, but I find the clothing on that one tends to be more female-focused despite ostensibly being a unisex body. Avalon is my favorite head for kids, it's very flexible and can easily present as male or female depending on the skin.

I love them! Such a cutie!

I'm non-binary and carry that aspect of myself through to my second life. Before I recognized my gender, I thought it was just strange how I liked to mix masculinity and femininity in my avatar designs. Now that I'm more in touch with myself, I can firmly say that that expression is part of how I see my gender. Since there's no such thing as "looking non-binary" because all NB people have different gender expressions, I'm curious what others outside of the binary gender look like in SL. Share a picture and tell me a little bit about why you choose to look that way. My oldest avatar is pretty traditionally femme. She's looked roughly similar to this for almost as long as I've been in SL, just evolving to fit current mesh standards and styles. I sometimes struggle when shopping for clothing because I prefer to be more covered than less. I'd rather wear knee-length skirts or pants and high tops than the more revealing styles many shops make. She uses Maitreya Lara because I prefer a less curvy aesthetic and has stuck with the Lelutka Fleur head for a while. My secondary avatar flexes back and forth between very soft masculine look and a femboy appearance. I always wind up putting flower crowns on him regardless of his presentation at the time and I've gathered a nice little collection of them over the years. He uses both Maitreya Lara with V-Tech or Flat chests and Belleza Jake. I'm sort of curious about the newer bodies like Aesthetic and how femme those can get but I'm waiting to see how they catch on before committing. His head was recently switched to Lelutka Zo, which is an awesome look.

Looking for shops with lolita, decora, or fairy kei fashion
Arwyn Quandry replied to atyid's topic in Your Avatar
I also love lolita. Here's a few spots I've found dresses: ALTAIR* HIME*DREAM (their Marketplace is out of date, shop in-world instead) Belle Epoque Mikunch =Zenith= (no Marketplace store available) -
How to manage wardrobe?
Arwyn Quandry replied to Khadijah Starchild's topic in General Discussion Forum
+1 to the CTS Wardrobe gang. Excellent system, very easy to use, makes putting outfits together a breeze, and it's highly customizable. Some people use it just for completed outfits that they want to wear all at once, some use it for wearing individual items, some people use them for cataloging their build and furniture items. I'll also note that in LL's 2023 roadmap they mentioned inventory improvements, and I've been told they're working with the creator of the Catznip viewer to implement those, so we may see something coming later this year. In the meantime, if you want to put items you've bought into special folders to keep them organized or find things you bought during a particular period, you may want to try the current Catznip build. There's some cool tweaks for inventory sorting already present which may help you. -
Has Patch address whether the "conveyor" system items can be transfer or not? I didn't see that specifically mentioned in the post.
-
"It's not lying to the customer. They know exactly what they're getting - a color of the shirt shown on the machine."
-
Maybe that will be the solution. It seems like we're heading into a world of unknowns, where there's going to be increasingly exploitative "solutions" offered up as unscrupulous folks try to find new ways to run away with as much money as they can. It would be better if LL had said unequivocally "no paying for unknown items". These loopholes being carved out are problematic.
-
So it hinges on if the items are transferrable or not? That honestly seems even worse. At least with transfer items, you can stand to recoup some of your losses trying to get a certain item. I'm just seeing more problems and loopholes for this system which will end in the consumer losing out and unscrupulous people walking away with money they shouldn't have gotten.

No. If tokens are allowed for one kind of randomization system because you're technically buying a known thing and using it to get a random item, it wouldn't really make sense if it wasn't allowed for others. I could see gatcha creators making HUDs where you buy a set of "tokens" for L$50 a pop and use those tokens in order to play their gatchas. Since the thing you're purchasing is known (tokens, bait, etc), would it be allowed?
-
@Patch Linden Reading through the new update you added (and thanks for that!), I have a slight concern about one of the points you made. Does this mean that a gatcha creator could set up a token system where users would purchase a known item (tokens) in order to use them on the gatcha machine? Does it matter if the item is not transferrable? If this is allowed, it seems like a much, much worse system than what we have now. There have been examples of exploitative token systems in SL in the past, like The Body Shop, where users had to buy 'credits' with L$, which were only sold in bundles which didn't match any of the products for sale exactly, meaning users would always have currency they spent but couldn't use for anything. They were also known for banning users without reason, preventing them from using the purchased credits. Please don't allow a system like this to be used. It would be far worse for everyone involved. If 7Seas has to be banned as part of the gatcha ban, so be it, but I don't want to see token systems become commonplace.
-
I was just thinking of something very similar to this as the solution for people who still want random items but without it being a gatcha. It seems potentially legal, as the user is still getting exactly what they pay for, there's just a limited window in which they can buy it. The scripting might be tricky with a ton of users trying to make the purchase though. Could be better to set it up so it will offer that item for sale for a set period of time, like 30 seconds, during which anyone can buy it before it changes to another. Alternatively, make it like a lucky board where you can only buy the item displayed if your name starts with a certain letter. Ultimately, we're going to have to see what the market produces. There's going to be a rush of possible solutions to the no more gatcha issue after this. Scripters are probably going to be competing to make the next big system. It comes down to what consumers prefer and what stays in LL's boundaries. I'd guess we're in for an interesting few months while everything shakes out.

Yes! I remember going to one of the first big reseller events after the Arcade started. Several creators showed up and demanded that they stop because they thought resellers were taking away their profits. They even threatened to AR everyone selling their items there and had to be banned from the sim! Now resellers probably make up half of gatcha sales.
-
I do feel bad for some of the creators and events which have heavily or entirely depended on gatchas, but this move is ultimately for the best. The number of people who have told me that they have impulse control issues around gatchas is troubling, and too often the items put in them are low quality or needlessly segmented to extract maximum profit from buyers. Still, I'm going to miss being able to buy small, inexpensive transfer items on MP as the supply of old gatchas dries up. Gatchas have too often supplied a much needed pair of cheap shoes or an inexpensive necklace to finish an outfit.
