  1. I love when people agree with me. Especially content creators. Thanks all. I just had an update. So far the bakes on Viewer is great. Now, suggestion: If this is supposed to be streamlined construction, the need arises. Activating and Linking Textures to Baked zones, including the 3 new Aux and the commiserate number of Tattoo layers, needs to be done without forcing the creator(s) to wear the avatar. That would be exceedingly lovely, especially if i'm in a hurry.
  2. Meshes, that wish to use old textures, that were released with, a) no uv mapping set all, b.) custom uv mapping, or c) uv mapping that is close but not good, will have to be updated and or repaired, IN ORDER TO USE MAPS BASED ON THE CORE AVATAR MAPS. Your assumption and insistence that I mean, meant, or will have meant, in ANY language, that custom maps can, or should not be used is arrogance and trollish behavior. That English phrasing, in English, says: If you want to use existing textures you must have an avatar that is unwrapped to maximize those textures. Personally, i, currently, have 8 models that need to be uupdated to use those textures. NO ONE, ANYWHERE, SAID I MUST FIX THEM. Does that fix your misunderstanding of plain English?
  3. So you're confused and agreeing with me. Your assumption that the bakes on system doesn't care which paint map is where is correct. Your point that any map can be applied to any location is correct. Where your confusion is, is where you must make the maps to fit the object. Your map for the Helios would not work as a map for a pair of boots that are laid out for the sluv. The texture would not transfer correctly. The map for a pair of pants does not fit on a face. There is nothing stopping you from cross linking your face map to your glove map, but don't expect the correct results. They are not laid out the same. If you lay a tam on a pair of boots on a t shirt on a pair of skorts, they still won't fit on your head, even though the Scottish hat is on top. The maps are the same way. The part, to which they are applied, must be deigned for them to be applied to.
  4. I'm not sure if you mean to agree with me or are simply confused. I'd love to hear more about this "universal tattoo," however; the rest of what you said matches what I said, with the small error about original tattoos and alphas. The original Tattoos, and Alphas, of which I've made and sell both, do require the SLUV Mapping. A standard Second Life UV Map.
  5. They probably mean, non custom mapping mesh. The mesh objects, including avatars, do have to match the system avatar's mapping. For some avatars, that means updates. For avatars that already use system mapping, you're correct, no updates needed.
  6. Are you saying no mod clothing shouldn't be a thing?
  7. No. Why do you have to have one for your digital clothing? If your example holds up, which it doesn't, then my point is unnecessary. Letting You use Your copies of No transfer system clothing on objects You own, should never have violated the No Transfer rules. Bakes on Mesh restores your ability to use your clothing on your avatar, whether you choose to go full mesh OR full system, or ANY COMBINATION there of.
  8. non Sequitur. Am i transferring the textures from my digital car, sword or gun onto my avatar? If so, am I violating copyright by putting transformer/z-bot avatars into the world? If you buy a suit, and you lose the pants due to a stain, do you walk down the street half naked? BOM keeps people from having to rip textures for the thousands of dollars they spent, BEFORE MESH AVATARS EVEN EXISTED. >> Scripted support for BOM Frankly, they should have lead with this. The appliers would be easier to program, so much so that OBJECT ONLY avatar creators would have a market larger than, it's cute but it's not colored.
  9. Except, in this case, they literally are. We're talking about Clothing Assets. Clothing and skins. Digital Clothing, and skins.
  10. DRM and purchases: In America OTA broadcasts can be recorded for playback. CD/DVD/DVR may be duplicated for private use to protect the original copy, and only to protect the original copy. Coats, and all clothing, may be mixed and matched.<<<<< Skins are considered CLOTHING. Clothing skins are considered CLOTHING. Bakes on removes the need for UUID copying for designers to use xyz texture. There is no copyright violation if there is no copying.
  11. Not having been able to figure out how to go about acquiring the bakes on preview system, I'm not sure, but isn't there layer options in lsl? base, alpha, shiny? could have alt textures apply to the second of the three?
  12. So far, i see good news and not so good news. As a furry avatar maker, i will have access to every furry body skin, ever made, for the core sl body. That is to say, my customers would. The down side is I'm not seeing an option to bake on the left arm/right arm separate. This wouldn't require a uv change, just the option to bake the upper_body map twice. -WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE CODING- it appears this could be picked up the same way the hair mapping does, -I'M MOST LIKELY WRONG ABOUT THAT- This assuredly comes from the fact that they never gave the left and right arms a separate material, let alone a distinct uv map.
  13. Eyes and glut need split up a little more, imo, especially if you want to keep the implementation of eye lid shapes. At the very least, inner and outer eyelid, with a soft deform zones for each?
  14. Since Shapekeys and Mesh have been Bunked, is there a way to suggest a proper face rig(preferably one of the simpler than "FaceRig" rigs) as a default for SL? namely need: 1-mForehead 2-mXTemple 2-mXBrow 2-mXUpperEyeLid 2-mXLowerEyeLid 1-mNose 2-mXCheek 1-mUpperLip 2-mXUpperLip 1-mLowerLip 2-mXLowerLip 1-mJaw 2-mXEar
  15. It doesn't work. LL says it's working as designed, but you can't link an item to a rigged mesh and expect it to follow the local xyz, it will remain on the global xyz.
  16. I log into the beta grid (ADITI) and it forces me onto a land with an adio clip of a craptastic song. Anytime I look for a Sandbox on Beta, it says I have to join a group to teleport or refuses to let me leave this craptastic island. I Can't even walk/fly away from this island. As a premium member I deserve at least not being forced to listen to 'its raining men' ad infinum, which I'm sure LL is not paying the song's copy write owner to use in this manor, let alone being able to get to a test sand box. Why are they not listed with the keyword beta and why is the beta server even list crap from the main server?
  17. blender is the easiest to use (5.2 and higher) and freely documented.
  18. Alternatively, stop makign low poly objects collapse. My 8 poly couch/chair shouldn't look like a new age statue at 12 feet away. Maybe a block but not a 3 d tetragon. it starts out square, has a cube for physics and stays square. it should be at least a cube at a whole 5 feet from the avatar and 12 feet from the camera angle.
