  1. Hi. I keep crashing after a few minutes if I enter sims that have any kind of detailed build or traffic or a combination of the two. I've never had this kind of issue until the last couple months. I can't figure out how to make the crashing stop. My computer should definitely be able to handle these sims and has handled them just fine prior to a couple months ago. I don't know what has changed in SL to suddenly start this constant crashing. It's kept me away from SL, because it is frustrating. I used to be able to have my settings on ultra in these sims, high draw distance, etc, no problem. Now, even with settings greatly lowered, this crashing issue happens. This is what I've tried as far as fixing the issue on my own. I've updated my video card drivers. I've uninstalled all my SL viewers and reinstalled the latest versions. I'm still crashing. I've also tried clearing cache. Is anyone else having this issue? If I'm on an empty platform high in the sky above my tiny parcel I can stay logged in for hours and hours no problem. If I go to anywhere else that has a bit of nice build to it and a few other avatars meandering around, I crash after a few minutes there, sometimes upwards to 20 minutes after I get there, sometimes only a couple minutes, but the crashes have so far showed to be inevitable. I've not successfully been in a detailed sim for more than 20 minutes since I've started having this issue. Mainland or island, doesn't seem to make a difference. Only pattern I've noted is that it seems to be the higher quality built sims that attract more traffic that I crash in. My crashing problem does roughly coincide with mesh going big, but I'm not sure it's related to that. My computer specs are: Windows 7 (service pack 1) 64 bit Nvidia 9600 GT (two of them that are SLI'd together) 6 Gigs Ram Sum up: Crashing after a few minutes (5 to 20 minutes) when in a sim that has a detailed build and/or medium to high traffic. Used to be able to have ultra settings and high draw distance. Lowering these has not changed crashing problem. Uninstalled all SL viewers and reinstalled absolute latest versions. Updated video card drivers to absolute latest version. Tried clearing cache several times. It didn't help. Sims I'm visiting are sims I've had no problems in in the past, prior to a couple months ago when this crashing started. Mainland or island sim doesn't seem to make a difference. Response to Peggy: Well, I can't seem to respond to answers posted here for some reason. Guess I'm not uber high enough or something? I'll look into the heating issue. I'm not confident in that being the problem, because my husband set up my computer and, well, he really knows his stuff, but it could just be a case of it not occuring to him to check it, because he has a lot of other things on his mind, the bigger, badder computers he works with on a daily basis, for instance. My computer might have fallen into the lower priority list in his attention window. Sorry, forgot to thank you for your response. I'll let you know if it turns out to be the right answer for my situation.
  2. My husband is a computer guru. It's part of his job. I have the latest driver and all that, but I too have started with this constant crashing since the last SL v3 update. It usually happens to me in high traffic or highly detailed builds and happens every 10 minutes or so. My machine is very well ventilated and clean. :smileyindifferent: I'm pretty sure it's some kind of bug in this latest version. I have other problems with Firestorm (the phoenix that works with mesh) of listing to the left when I move my avatar and my camera getting stuck at odd angles. Only problem I have in regular SL v3 is the crashing after ten minutes or so.
