  1. coin flipper script. seens somewhere, will have to log in to search. To do a boolean decision upon a flat cylinder prim laying upside or downside, multiply a vector pointing into Z direction with prims rotation. If result's Z component is greater zero, you get upside up, otherwise down. On zero ... hmmm ... Pog idling on edge! You can dedect wind direction on last case, make it topple over after a second of tension.
  2. the slammer would be a rezzable item that positions itself over top of any near gamestack. the Pogs are rezzable selfpositioning items, too. clicking top Pog on pile triggers the next game move. Results scored afterwards, each Pog can detect if it's upside down on floor or not. Doable. If there is a GO after a good deal of thought regarding the above, I would give this a try. Starting clean with it, bottle caps again.
  3. how do you handle Pog transfers? if you can stick with nocopy Pogs to add some realism regarding uniqueness and collectability, keep in mind no script could transfer the item ITSELF (where the script is inside). Item transfers originate from inventory of a prim. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlGiveInventory You merely need to transfer the Pog's surface texture to simulate a transfer. Just that implies secret hidden communication between game items. You might need to keep the program code hidden from player's view. You might need to scramble the data transfers. From SL history, these textures are NOT to be considered safe data. There is a fair amount of gambling inside Pog that made it banned from various schools across North America[12] and many western European Countries such as Germany and the U.K [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pogs] ....so fat chance it will end up like that inside SL, too. How about labelling them "gift certificates" instead of a currency, like USDOD did during OEF or Operation Iraqi Freedom?
  4. äääh ne, destruktion ist was anderes. Wo sind die alten Foren Inhalte? oder hier:
  5. oh, you can't avoid drama if people crave for some moving arround Aditi (Meshes!) has given me some update on viewer development. I'm suggesting making it more configureable on a design level (even if that implies editing *.xml config files) perhaps people would love to re-color, re-textur surfaces or just move them arround on screen. Add some floater containing a set of custom button functions, where we can trigger activities just like opening a often used window (ctrl-h) or gesture.
  6. "a viewer-based function that allows you to make meshes just like you can make prims" I remember an inworld presentation of some ingenious big company people who tried to visualize 3D geometry by meshing up triangles made from box prims. So pityfull! Imagine what could have been reached during last four years since 2006 when many companies tried in vain something usefull to do with VR environments like SL. Imagine some group collaboration enabled mesh generation, the possibility. Or, think easier ... a similar functionality to Paint.exe Doodling on prim surfaces, painting right into textures. Don't focus on "artistic quality" it would surely turn out like painting with fingers ... or Jackson Pollock style ... but how about the shared experience? Information distribution. Even by placing some letters into a texture using crude texture painting tools inside SL we would have gotten rid of that awwwwsome hoovertexting (which looks odd). Media on prim didn't changed SL much besides, my recognition, media streaming from youtube vanished shortly afterwards. Placing a webpage onto a prim so far did nothing. Or nobody uses. It just doesn't feel like "inside SL" if it isn't. It is not. The data remains somewhere else. Doh! typed that twice! My first one has been more written by heart, this one by hate. SL just ate comment editing ... by jumping through some silly opensomewhat login process, and failing with an error message heroically. I really despise how stuff turned to failure everywhere. Posting events currently causes similar struggles ... censoring of Event descriptions running havok. support http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-3049
