  2. Same here ... Seems to be happening more and more lately.
  3. Hi, I am trying to add items to marketplace. For some reason the system is not allowing me to add these items to marketplace. I have one item set to No Mod, no trans... a second to no trans and the 3rd items is at full perm settings. The items are boxed into a prim box that is set to no mod no trans. Any ideas why I can't drag this box to marketplace??
  4. Thanks... I didn't see anything in the portal when I wrote my message... wonder if they just posted it. oh well time to wait it out.
  5. Just wondered if anyone is having log in issues. I checked status p[age and saw nothing. Screen just says "Logging In".
  6. Yea, something isnt right. I tried to log on and got a popup indicating that my account was undergoing minor maintenance. Go figure.
  7. Well I am stumped, after talking to support, LL claims to have sent forms out at end of January, then refernces the one page that only talks about 1099-K. So now I am stumped. I haven't received my 1099-MISC form. Guess I need to talk to my tax and figure out what next.
  8. Natalie... I got the info when I filled out the required forms. It was buried in there. Been that way for years as I;ve been receiving them for well over 15 years now from other clients I work with. Additionally, 1099-MISC: http://www.irs.gov/uac/Form-1099-MISC,-Miscellaneous-Income- (I have highlighted in teh seconed bullet how it pertains to use and LL. In second bullet where it says "other income"... that's where it pertains to us. File this form for each person to whom you have paid during the year: at least $10 in royalties or broker payments in lieu of dividends or tax-exempt interest; at least $600 in rents, services (including parts and materials), prizes and awards, other income payments, medical and health care payments, crop insurance proceeds, cash payments for fish (or other aquatic life) you purchase from anyone engaged in the trade or business of catching fish, or, generally, the cash paid from a notional principal contract to an individual, partnership, or estate; any fishing boat proceeds, gross proceeds of $600, or more paid to an attorney during the year, or withheld any federal income tax under the backup withholding rules regardless of the amount of the payment. 1099-K: http://www.irs.gov/Businesses/Understanding-Your-1099-K (again highlighted where it pertains to us and LL) A Form 1099-K includes the gross amount of all reportable payment transactions. You will receive a Form 1099-K from each payment settlement entity from which you received payments in settlement of reportable payment transactions. A reportable payment transaction is defined as a payment card transaction or a third party network transaction. Payment card transaction means any transaction in which a payment card, or any account number or other identifying data associated with a payment card, is accepted as payment. Third party network transaction means any transaction that is settled through a third party payment network, but only after the total amount of such transactions exceeds $20,000 and the aggregate number of such transactions exceeds 200.
  9. You are required to file regardless of amount. However, you will get a 1099-MISC form if you received $600USD or more... and you will get a 1099-K form if you go over $20,000USD. If you get either form, you have to file. I think they just havent sent them yet.
  10. I haven;t yet.... still the last remaining item needed to complete my taxes too. I thought I would have gotten it last week but.... nothing yet.
  11. After talking to my CPA, I don't think you can get taxed, nor can you claim losses based on linden dollars, since it is not "real" currency. However, on money that you converted to your country's currency would be. That's why if you converted more than $600USD, and live in the US, you will/should receive a 1099-MISC form, or if you converted over $20,000USD, a 1099-K form to apply on your taxes. If you can claim lindens dollars not converted, please explain because then I;d have to make adjustments on mine lol
  12. Keep in mind that in some cases, when a change to about land is made (i.e. description or name change, banning or unbanning someone, etc), it can cause the stream to fade out and and back in. When you change about land settings, you are in essence resetting "about land" which incluides yoru stream UR, meaning it is basically stoppign the stream and restarting it. This has been happening now for about 2 years and it seems to be intermittent... but when i happens it continues for a while. Maybe someone was changing something in about land? By the way, if you were connected when all this happened, the best way to see if it was truly the stream is to listen on a player outside of SL, like Winamp. The separatiion of SL servers and Streams server is already mentioned above by others.
  13. I knew of the date as I do contract work in RL as well. I've received my three 1099-K and all the 1099MISC's for 2014, except LL's. A couple of places I have done work for send them out in groups. So just wondered if LL had begun sending them out yet.
  14. Last year a good number of residents has to fill out tax forms for when they converted more than $600USD. As a result, you could expect to see a Form 1099 in your mailbox. I know quite a few shop owners in SL closed their doors because they didn't want to be taxed. As we get closer to the end of January, I was wondering if anyone who stuck it out has receiving their 1099 form yet. I have not as of yet, but didn't know if they had begn to send them out. LL's is the only tax form I am waiting on to complete my taxes. Anyone?
  15. The key here is... communicate with the seller first. As mentioned above, most if not all, will work with you. But you have to take that first step to contact them.
  16. Talking should be normal for a DJ. Otherwise, unless its a house or techno type music (among others) where they are doing real live mixing, I can see why they wouldnt be talking. Like VivaLaTease described, in today's world, a DJ is a live-mixing DJ. Radio style DJ's are more "on air Personalities". I see many saying they dont like DJ's talking over the music. Let's be clear about that. Talking over music where singing is happening, is a terrible thing for a DJ to be doing. However, talking over the outro or intro of a song is perfectly normal. Once singing starts, they need to not talk. Additionally, there are some songs that you just never talk over during the intro out of respect for the song itself. Couple of songs come to mind where you should never talk over the intro are Eagles "Hotel California" and Led Zeppelin "Stairway to Heaven". There are many others. But again for the most part talking over outro's and intros is perfectly normal. The good DJ (or on air personality) knows how to hit a "post" (the moment just before the singing starts). If they can do that while keeping you informed and engaged, you have a winner. I've heard dj's talking between songs for lengthy periods of time. While I don't mind a DJ that talks, keep it short and simple. As a friend of mine tells me "that was", "club announcement" or "comment about what others are talking about" , "tip host (or venue), "coming up next is... (or request information)". You can do all that in 10-15 seconds. Going on and on for 5 minutes is a bit much. I've been to clubs where they DJs are encouraged to talk over most of the songs to engage the crowd. That's a horrible practice and probably why when the club had about 60 people in it, only 24 were listening. I did encounter a DJ once who didn't talk, but then again he also didnt take requests. Why? He was using autoDJ to work his gig. When he told me (I asked him why he wasnt taking requests), I just left. Why bother calling yourself a DJ at that point.
  17. I had no issues when filling out my paperwork, but it did take time. Sit tight and let the process handle itself. Wait a few days then contact LL again and ask for an update. If there is an issue with the paperwork you filed, they will ask for more information or at least tell you what is wrong. However, I suggest doing it in support chat, this way you can copy the conversation and keep it for your records. If you have a ticket number for this incident, (I strongly suggest this for traceability), then make sure you use it each time you contact them. Remember, LL didn't create the tax laws, they are just obligated to follow them.
  18. Jo Heartsdale wrote: Can anyone tell me what the current withdrawal time is from SL to Paypal - started the process a week ago and still no sign of money turning up in PayPal account. I've heard that it can be anything from 5 (working) days to 10. Also - anyoe know where the money resides in the interim - are LL getting the interest or are Paypal? I get mine in 5 business days, and it's been pretty spot on 5 business days, except for the time I had to fill out the W9 form.
  19. ACK good catch..... I didnt see it with my old eyes, I guess. Thanks!
  20. I've seen discussions in the past regarding licensing and royalties for DJ's iN SL, and whether they are needed. I came across this on the Internet, and noticed that IMVU is being audited by the Copyright Royalty Judges. This is related to music. I'm only hoping this doesn't mean that LL will be next, and if so, what will this mean to the DJ's and clubs of SL. Or does IMVU pay all licensing and royalty fees to the industry? I'm only raising the question because IMVU is being audited, it seems. Thoughts? https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2014/01/15/2014-00654/notice-of-intent-to-audit " The Copyright Royalty Judges announce receipt of five notices of intent to audit the 2010, 2011, and 2012 statements of account submitted by Sirius XM Radio, Inc.; IMUV, Inc.; Crystal Media Networks; Pandora Media, Inc.; LoudCity LLC concerning the royalty payments made by each pursuant to two statutory licenses."
  21. When you are streaming, is your encoder still conected or is it dropping the connection. Could be a number of things. If you are not dropping, it may be a few things in world. one being that if you change the about land information, some people may hear it stop, start or fade in fade out. I know when I change things in about land on my parcel like the description, add a ban or remove a ban, etc... it will do just that. Doesn't happen to everyone. Can happen to me at a club, then the next day its fine, but someone else is experiencing it. Ask your listeners if it is dropping for everyone, but the key thing is to make sure your stream is not dropping. If it is, then that's a whole different story.
  22. On the bright side, at least someone is looking at it. Have they still not paid you?
  23. Is the sandbox owned by LL? If yes, call again... if not, contact sandbox owner and talk to them.... or even easier... just find another sandbox.
  24. II actually had a rep from LL, in chat, close the chat on me because they didn;t want to deal with my questions. So instead I made a call and talked to someone who was far more knowledgable about things, and explained to me what was going on. Sure enough about an hour later I got the email anwsering my ticket indicating what I needed to do. I filled out the form, attached the photo ID to the ticket I had opened and requested they let me know if there was anything left for me to do. They replied about 2 hours later saying everything was in order, and that I should have the money either by end of the day, or the next day. I received the money 45 minutes later. I do think they are overwhelmed, and perhaps not so much as the amount of info they are getting, which I am guess is A LOT, but more from people who prefer to fight this rather than just deal with it. But yeah, the floodgates on this thing has opened for LL (and for us). Keep in mind one thing. This isn't an LL thing... this is a law thay they have to follow. Other virtual worlds that allow you to cash out should also be doing the same thing
  25. That or you just got lucky . I will be interested to see what happens next time you take out more than $100.
