  3. Oh yes, all those things are so much fun! You would think by now they could just fix it, it's been going on forever. Companies are supposed to want to make money, to make it easy, fast and enjoyable for people to shop and spend their money. Making it difficult for consumers is only lowering how much LL could make and the merchants. Doesn't make sense it has gone on for this long. Boggles my mind really.
  4. I rarely if ever post here, but seriously Linden Labs...can you not just please fix marketplace? I am so tired of the months and months of "___ cannot be added to your cart" Sometimes it gets added anyway, sometimes it doesn't. But either way, one thing you can count on is...marketplace is going to be painfully slow. After all this time, why can't they just get it working right. Thank you for allowing me this rant.

  8. I do not want to get into this disagreement , I only want to state what i do know. Each day faithfully at about 3am SLT I do a search to check which pages my items are on. Generally I see the same type of results each day. When I woke up Friday morning i was shocked to see myself, as well as my other fellow merchants, pushed off the front pages, pages that were suddenly filled with 0-10L items. I have been doing this search faithfully each morning for a very very long time. It is easy for me to see when something has changed and this was a drastic and very easy to see change. Also, along with the search result change my sales plumeted. Addition to this post: Also, in addition to my own products, I am also a consumer and shop and buy often on marketplace. I am used to the results I get for things such as women's clothing, jewelry, necklaces, bracelets, shoes, boots, the list goes on. After seeing the change in the search results for my product categories i searched all the other areas i usually search for and again...they were flooded with 1-10L items where normally I would see the top designers that I love to buy from so much.
  9. I think search results should be... Relevance sorted in order of best selling, discluding freebies and dollarbies which should have their own category
  10. I personally think this is a wonderful idea !!!
  11. Drake1 Nighfire wrote: Just to point out, JCNY has a 10L mood ring in the 3d spot. perhaps you need to rethink which merchants are to blame. I'm sorry I have to disagree with this statement, and correct me if I've read or taken it wrong. I have a few inexpensive items myself, lost leaders, to encourage people to take a look at my store. This is common business practice and happens in RL all the time. That's busines. But even my inexpensive lost leader items, i do not expect, nor do I want preferential treatment for. I had always thought LL filtered those cheaper items and they were not placed as important, which is exactly how I would want it to remain. I don't think good merchants who sell very quality items should be made to feel bad because they have a few cheap lost leader items to bring people into their stores. This is LL's responsibility to make this right. When you walk into a store in RL you are not faced with rows and rows and rows and.. (you get the idea) of cheap and free items before you reach the higher ticket items at the back of the store. That would be rediculous. I feel very fortunate to have a business in SL, I have enjoyed many aspects of it, what I don't enjoy is this constant change which almost always affects the money going into my pocket. Having a business in RL you have to deal also with economy, world disasters, holidays etc that affect sales, but having a business in SL... add to those things the constant change in how people find your store that can plumet your sales on any given day/week/month. We are at their mercy and it is a very helpless feeling to sit and watch the sales flop and know there isn't really anything you can do about it. Even if they change it this time, we just wait for next time...
  12. Belldandy Schmajuk wrote: But wait!, these "freebies" did not get their position by hard working and steady sales, no!, not at all, they got these positions thanks to a poorly implemented algorithm update by the commerce team on MP, now, can you tell my beloved competitor he must not be angry at all? and that most SLers wont buy freebies while he is not getting a single sale because the system decided to kick him out from the search results?. Couldn't have worded it better myself. So true!
  13. VonGklugelstein wrote: "I believe that ALL items below their commission treshold (9L and less) should be in a master category called Bargain basement and have no sub categories" Totally agree with the above statement. And I hope they adjust this situation sooner than later because the sales drop is so exactly timed to this new influx of 10L or below items
  14. Hello fellow merchants! I was wondering if anyone can help me with a question I have. I have updated somethign small in every single product folder in my inventory. After I send them all to the merchant outbox and they appears in my unassociated inventory list is there a way I can update these all at once, or in large bunches instead of one at a time? The names of the products have not changed at all, only a small item in each of the contents. I have been asking around for days about this and everyone is telling me they must be done one at a time, but that seems such a long process... I had to think there is a better way... Any help would be appreciated muchly :D TY TY :D
  15. I've never had this happen to me but i have had things omited from the folders. For instance, for almost 2 months the notecards in my product folders were not passed to the customer which was a huge problem for me because nobody knew how to use the product. LL could not figure out what was going wrong because they could not recreate the problem. If certain items can be omited in error from a folder, i can see anything happening, even empty folders
  16. I have to agree with you Belldandy. I realize too that freebies or dollarbies are going to sell and therefor be popular, but I guess what upsets me is that creators such as you and such as myself...can work so hard to build quality items that take a great deal of time...then (in my particular line of product) someone can slap a freebie noob menu on a primative looking peice of furniture and post it for 1L and it hits the top of the charts, clouding the consumer from seeing the lovely, well made, hard worked on items. This is also very sudden, so what has changed? I don't think I will ever understand search results. It is my understanding that they change quite frequently.
  17. Thanks for your reply, of course anything similar is helpful to know, and in the past i have had actual prim objects not delivered as well.
  18. For a few days now, customers have been messaging me like crazy stating they did not get the notecard that came with their purchase. My items are DD and not boxed, but just in a folder with items, landmark and notecard. There is a notecard in every single folder and I've tested delivery myself and receive them just fine. However...my customers have not been getting the notecards. Has anyone else experienced this? Just curios to know and thanks so much!
  19. wow i never realized that some people have trouble accessing MP pages after updates... thanks for letting me know !
  20. I don't follow the posts a lot so forgive me if this topic has been posted or answered before a million times. But...why is it whenever LL updates marketplace the sales drop literally the very next day and stay that way for days.... I saw the updates coming and i said to my husband..oh LL is updating MP..you can expect a HUGE fall tomorrow. Sure enough sales dead ever since...... --||-
  21. Yes, since yesterday I have also been totally swamped with non-delivery messages
  22. hmmm, interesting. but fix what? fix the fact that they pressed a button in the menu which they don't understand because they didn't read the notecard? if i move that part to the top of the notecard something else gets moved down and really the ones that complain don't read them anyway. couple years ago i started putting signs on top of my furniture. Each time now someone rezzes my stuff they get a sign rezzed on top which says nicely "reading the attached notecard explains all the features of your product that you might not otherwise know about" sometimes you can't please everyone and sometimes there is nothing that can be fixed.
  23. It's been a while since I posted anything in the forums, but I really felt the need to post today. Product reviews. How lovely they are. Linden Labs says freedom of speech. Granted. Accepted. But what about equal freedom of speech for merchants. Example: I am an angry person, i love to complain and I've had a bad day, I purchase a very nice product that works very well but because I fail to read the instructions or contact the merchant, I post a lovely review for all to see. Did I mention I am an angry person? I announce for all to see that this product does not work, right there in big letters, to put some possible doubt in the minds of all future people interested in that merchant's product. I give it a 1 star. It's great for business ! Freedom of speech right? Mhmm. So now I am the merchant...who sees this totally unfair review and wants to be able to leave a comment to let other people know that the product does in fact work and explain things. Freedom of speech right? Mhmm. My freedom of speech is much different than the angry consumer's freedom of speech because mine shows in tiny letters like this: (1) comments ..in which someones has to first see this tiny font and then click on it. It's not visible really at all, certainly not like the angry consumer that just slashed the perfectly good product. I understand freedom of speech, I respect it. When used properly, product reviews are helpful things for consumers and they are needed. But let's face it, do all consumers use the product reviews properly or do some of them use it as their personal forum to voice their frustration at probably having had a bad day and of course loving the power they hold over the helpless merchant. I certainly do not suggest removing product reviews. I do believe though that the merchant comments should be more visable. Is the merchant's comment defending a totally unfair review less important than the angry merchant who posted the review due to their own user error? How about the angry customers who don't read the instructions or bother to even message the creator for help. There was a time when we used to get notice of reviews so that we could contact the person and assist them, but that does not happen now. Now we stumble across reviews that may have been left ages ago, with no chance of making that customer even feel better, much less having any hope of them removing or changing their review. Note: i know that Linden Labs will always remove abusive or offensive reviews and do not imply in the least they do not assist us with this. I am sure some will think i am just blowing smoke, but I really needed to blow this smoke today. At the very least thanks for listening to me everyone.
