  1. Linden Lab wrote: It appears that our response may have been taken out of context. A game of skill is defined as "a game, implemented through an Inworld object: 1) whose outcome is determined by skill and is not contingent, in whole or in material part, upon chance; 2) requires or permits the payment of Linden Dollars to play; 3) provides a payout in Linden Dollars; and 4) is legally authorized by applicable United States and international law. " Thank you, LL, since you use the word 'AND" to connect statements 1 thru 4, & not "OR", does that mean all 4 must be in place to mean a game is considered 'skill gaming'? Also, what about something like 7 Seas Tournaments & prize givers (which often have the option to pay out L$ as well as objects)? Will this apply to them also?
  2. Welcome Welcome WELCOME!!! Love that you've dived in and are exploring our world from within as well as from the corporate office! I loved your comments, especially the points where you state, that you view immersing yourself in Second Life as fun, love the world WE created, and that you notice.. that WE are your customers! "Getting immersed in Second Life is the fun part of the job and I can see why you love the world that you’ve created ... I look forward to serving you--our customers--in the times ahead." Hope springs forth!!! Second Life is very social, but it is not a browser, not Facebook, it is a treasured home for millions. Immersion is the key, and a viewer that doesn't detract from that is what makes it possible to more fully enjoy our world... "Immersion is the state of consciousness where an immersant's awareness of physical self is diminished or lost by being surrounded in an engrossing total environment; often artificial. This mental state is frequently accompanied with spatial excess, intense focus, a distorted sense of time, and effortless action." I see a lot has been shared for things to explore as well as what hangs Second Life up... I added yet another to the list, dropping you a notecard invite to the US Military Veterans Center on Patriot Island, so you can see one more aspect of how Real Life interests come together & collaborate within Second Life ... Come be part of us, we are a family. This microcosm known as Second Life is our world, our home, a place where our dreams and fantasies can live, our creativity can be expressed, relationships born, nourished, cherished... like a family, we will squabble amongst ourselves, but unite to protect what we see as ours... and we do see Second Life as ours... Linden Lab provides the platform... but the world you see within... comes from us, and we love it, even as it ebbs, flows and fluctuates through changes, as we react to changes and problems. Come, join us!

Log into Secondlife.com, left side menu, account, age verification, complete & submit... if problems or errors, go to billing information & put paid information on file... once you've done one or both, log into your viewer & edit your preferences under general to allow you to access mature areas. If you update your age verification or PIOF while already logged in, may have to relog for it to take effect.
  4. Wow Jack, I've not been here as long as many others, but you've been a constant! SL won't be the same without you, that's for sure. I can see it now, residents looking for "Jack" is going to become the new "Where's Waldo?" of SL! Best wishes for your new year & new journeys, may they always meander through SL. Stop by the U.S. Military Veteran Center or NNAVA Tribal Lands, the lights are always on!
