Word of mouth? If the business is worth anything everyone should know about it.

I understand it's for an SL business but RL courts have been involved in DMCA reports about SL businesses.  If I were purchasing an SL business, I'd certainly want to know my legal rights as you should know yours as a seller.  Once you've received that advice and how to go about selling, I'm not sure where you could advertise since advertising is not allowed on the forums.

Oh well in such situations anyway since it is a business you need to prepare a contract and sometimes an NDA too. I have been told some business were sold so I am curious to understand how people find out it

  3. Hello!

I am looking for an experienced LSL/PHP (and not only) programmer  for a custom project (it is an existing project that needs to be updated - optimized).

Excellent salary, it is important to know that there is a short deadline (1 month) for the main project, and will continue with other side projects

    What I am looking for:

    • 3+ years of programming;
    • experience in PHP, MySQL and other languages;
    • ready to sign an NDA

Some information about the project I can share (about programming),:

    • HUDs (Creations -. Upgrade)
    • Animations
    • Roleplay scripts: weapons, spells, compatibility with different meters
    • much more...

If you are interested, and you'd like to know more, get in touch and let's talk about it. To contact me, please reply to this topic or send me a resume notecard inworld!

Thank you for reading, and hope to begin together a new adventure!

As silly as it may seem, if you need to graduate from what the general public in SL can provide (mostly hobbyists , set their own schedules and have RL stuff going on) you need to hire a Real-Life proffessional, who would almost certainly not be profficient in LSL, but would probably be much more likely to have web-development expertise. Depending on the nature and scope of your project, posting on somewhere like one of these places might be warranted.

Thank you very much for your answer!!! To be honest need to be more expert of sl scripting since the web  part is done, that's the reason of my doubts hehe but I will for sure give a look to the link you provided!

  5. Hello, may I ask here if somebody know where to post a "looking for a scripter to hire"? The post a job section is not good here to find a professional one, since not many follow it, and I relaly need a professional one to be hired "in rl" to work in SL.

Thank you in advance and sorry if the post is in the wrong place!

  6. Hello,

    I am looking for experienced:

    - social managers,

    - writers (english native for now)

    for a large project.

Payment is to be based on experience and time spent - will make it worth the time and effort put in.

Please send me in-world (Ramses Meredith) a notecard/web link about your skills and previously/actual jobs, or ever better a Curriculum Vitae.

I look forward to hearing from you to discuss.

    Regards,

    Ramses Meredith

  7. Hello, I can answer you personally: I find useless to ask permissions or lots of papers, because in  the end designers are best "friends" in the commercial war. On other side more you make nervous people and more you sell. In fact all the people want dev kit for free but they do not care to get it, and who get it usually hope to get a free avatar rigged to import in second life.

Question is: who support the bodies that give the kit for free?

I am a guy, so I use Beleza Jake and Exmachina Davide. I always considered getting a kemono to use with my anime head.

Ah what a good goy using my brand  😂🤣. Btw I suggest you all to try the demo and give a chance to my avatar, is easy to use and in 2 years none of my customers have complain about  complexity!

Sorry, I had planned to do a post about this. We are adding 5 new baked channels, called left arm, left foot, and aux1, aux2, and aux3. The left arm and left foot channels are specifically intended to help with the case that you want to make limbs that don't match left and right, although of course you can use any channel for any purpose.

Originally we had planned to add the new channels to the existing tattoo wearable. Unfortunately old viewers get very unhappy when they see new channels being added to their old familiar wearables, and tend to crash. So instead of modifying the tattoo, we are creating a new wearable type called universal. Universal wearables will include all the channels old and new. They basically work like a super tattoo. Like the tattoo, they have slots for textures, but nothing else - for example, there are no associated sliders, no automatic alpha masking, etc - by contrast with more complex wearables like the shirt. Universal wearables will layer above the current tattoo wearables and below all the other clothing. Old viewers of course won't know how to handle these new wearables, but they will just ignore them rather than crashing.

Adding a new wearable type will also require changes to the simulator, baking service, and inventory service. After the next project viewer update, all these things will be working in supported test regions on Aditi. We will update you when it's all ready to try out.

Question: these channels will be available via scripts via normal outfit editing or via lourdes?

  10. A request is to make easy the "add a picture of the product". Many times we want to use same image used oin another item but is pretty impossible to browse it, so we need to waste time, and server resoruces, importing AGAIN same image. Also would be wonderful if we can do multiple pproduct selection to add same image directly.

About the mesh bodies, you can name a mesh brand but then is impossible to find, as example, same store in the marketplace, which can help people to find quickly the official page of the  body brand.

Sure they do. The way the SL implementation of Mesh was crippled, sculpts can never be replaced without major re-engineering of a series of shameful, shortsighted design decisions.

If we were really interested in the long term, existing Mesh should be deprecated and eventually drop compatibility with the current clunky format, and start again from scratch.

I have sayd in wrong way, what i mean is nobody buy anymore sculpts, of course old places made with sculpts well them will stay but you will never see a woan wearing a sculpt gown, as example.

Yes, Second Life users (creators, inworld service providers, business owners, employees of those businesses or simply freelancers) cash out 60-70 million US dollar each year, and I know a friend of mine who makes around $5,000 a month, and they aren't even one of the biggest creators.

Lately, with Fortnite being a killing game,I doubt everybody is doing a living with Second Life.  I know many that declare to earn 5000 dollars per month but to be honest one curiousty I have is: how is posisble nobody declare to earn 1200 dollars or 7000? everybody say 5000, which is fun since it is like to say a "middle" amount if you consider 5 is between 0 and 10.

Marketing is not everything, you need to have friends that help you, or the marketing goes nowhere. Many people also pay some to advertise on groups, pretending to be customers and asking about the brand XYZ (sometimes also out of topic lol). Before, dunno now, sl "magazines" was use to do the pay for play,  naming how good was the brand in charge of money. also sponsoring many events would help. It is not really a marketing matter but a wallet matter: how much do u have to spend? enough? then u have a chance.

The entire SL platform is built on a lot initial design decisions that, with hindsight, perhaps not the best. LL are committed to maintaining compatibility and not breaking anything you might have paid for, even if that was years ago.

Truth is we lost compatiblity anyway. nobody uses anymore SCULPTS, nobody uses anymore system layers (well now tih Bakes on Mesh we are back). We go forward and  now i must talk as creator: if people keep old things then there is no economy, also in rl there is the programable obsolescence, to force people to buy again and again, so Linden Labs need to look forward but with another idea of business

BoM does not work with appliers. Oz Linden has not totally ruled out the possibility that in the future it might be doable, but as of now, no it won't. But remember those appliers use regular old textures (or the UUIDs of those textures) to create the appliers. So creators have the textures and can make system layers for those products that are applier only products. I'm one of those creators and have begun adding system layers to my packages on all new creations in preparation for BoM. I will be updating my best sellers that are applier only packages to include system layers once BoM is really here.

I have begin to prepare my skins ready in layers too, whcih is easy for me to test since i own also the body lol. I need to say just missing the details about left arm and right and left leg as i saw, because this would be interesting to make asymetric skins and also for tattoo layers
