So if you find a laptop you like, you can compare it to this list. I would recommend getting a laptop with a graphics card that is rated at class 2 at least. Hi Andre, thanks again for the information you have provided and the website link:) Andrew

It would be considered on the high end of the "class 2" graphics cards available in the mobile gaming market. There are 6 classes in mobile graphics. The only issue with this laptop is that is has an 11" in screen so if you were using this with an external monitor it would not be a problem. This laptop is selling for $599 or 836(GBD). That is a pretty good deal considering it normally sells for $200 more... maybe they are trying to get rid of them? When looking at laptops make sure you get one with a dedicated graphics card that hs 512 ram, AIM for 1GB if you can. Hi Andre, thanks for that extensive information, that's great. I will think about that now and see what I want to do, thanks again:) Andrew

Try to get an Nvidia card tho, maybe a 210 or higher. The last time I look at the card they suggested, none were even on the market anymore, lol. Hi Medhue, many thanks for that information. I will decide what to do then whether I go for a laptop or just install a high spec video card in my desktop system. Andrew

  5. Hi, that's ok, I have the minimum system requirements but thanks for those. Andrew WeeWillie Wylie wrote: Not sure if this is what you wanted (and frankly how updated these are) but here is the minimum and recommended requirements https://secondlife.com/my/support/system-requirements/
  6. Hi everyone, I've been having difficulty in starting this new topic as I tried to choose appropriate location but start a new thread was not available, it was only available in this category. Right, I'm thinking of purchasing a laptop and I would like to know what laptop I should purchase in terms of specifications. I know that secondlife has minimum system requirements. I'm mainly thinking about the video card. With desktops you can upgrade and install a video card, is this the case with a laptop? Obviously I want to try and go for a laptop that has one of the video cards recommended under secondlife minimum system requirements but I don't know if this is possible. My budget is around the £700.00 mark for a new laptop. I would be grateful for any advice on this matter. Many thanks. Andrew
