  1. kindof going back to the op's point...I believe when she means "creative", she doesn't mean "make things", i.e. clothes/furniture. I think she also means "create experiences". People complain that there's nothing to do, yet there's clubs with DJ's that have no attendance, game areas unused, walkable sims that are not used, etc. To create, does not necessarily mean "make clothes or a building or something to sit on", but craft something others can enjoy, also. Make a games area. Go help out on Noob Island. Create a church area. Make a group for x theme..and hold trivia contests for them. Choose random areas in SL, go explore...then take others into "the wild". I hear a lot of people say "there isn't anything to do", yet do not want to put energy back into it. And it does not necessarily involve $L to do. I know I can find things...and heck, I get an IM every day from a person asking as a friend's convo "what's out there to do, send me an IM if you are involved in something fun"...
  2. As a low or medium seller (my items are older, and am just starting on my alt, with 10 regular items and 4 gacha items)...I look at things another way.... Again, if I had the choice (I don't)...I would love to have MP set up as it is...but also a non-feature supported, "standard" listing. One where, perhaps, all of the listings are shown in a random order (no preference to any type of seller), and/or "new to old" listings. I could see on the "feature supported" listings, offer things that make it worth it. Demos. Ability to update SLURL's in bulk (a separate listing option, for those who only have items at one location, of course). A non-feature supported (meaning no priority listings due to payment, no ads across the top/etc)...could be a very generic. maybe can only show 1 picture. Anyway, I don't know how to make both work...but, it could be an option, to help the "smaller person", and the "bigger person" both at the same time. I also would lik the option...not a vendor system based on MP, as that could put a lot of vendor systems out of business, but where through the vendor system, you can list the same items on MP through a few additional spaces on a vendor entry. anyway, my 2 cents...or .001L?
  3. One thing that I would like to see, and that is as a customer first, and a merchant second, is a "demo" button of some kind. MANY people have lost business from me, because as I was sorting through listings, I could not get rid of demos, or tried to do search words, such as "-demo -DEMO -demos", which does not work, either. I do think things need to be "demo'd", but perhaps an option to "include" or "not include" demos, and when you are looking at the listing, that you can order the demo from that listing. for example, if I want to sort shoes, by price...#1 - how can I tell where the "free" shoes are, or even the $1 or $5 shoes, because there are sooooo many demos (same as hair/etc). The second is just checking through a listing type, such as "women's hair"...sometimes the demo hairs look just like the rest, it's hard for me to search via MP...there are many times I start, and just give up. I would also like somehow a "wrong category" button. One where you can also place the "suggested listing category". Many times, have searched one category, and found another...i.e. building FP items, and finding shoes. or kid's clothes, and finding women's dominatrix clothing, or the like...Not something that would auto-move or auto-close the listing (that could be abused), but would flag it, and show it to the lister (who may have made a mistake), and perhaps flags it to a moderator, who can move it or close it til it is in it's proper category. Ideally, I think if I were setting it up, one flag would bring it back to the lister's attention (IM's, emails, same things as like when you are overdue or over limit on Casper's rental)....then perhaps a 3d flag by a 3d customer would bring it to a moderator to check it and take further action if and as needed.
  4. Have you considered the use of some half-walls? perhaps half-height bookcases? or like the long fireplaces, that are made for dividing rooms? and some of the fallback...make small, cozy areas, instead of trying to bring all into one big room. Use rugs to define some...and don't forget bits and pieces...like if you have kids..."strew" some kid items about, to help take up some of that space. And remember, you *can* stretch some items...i.e. that bookshelf...stretch it a touch bigger, if need be.
  5. there aren't "updates" to outfits...if you have classic layers or prim parts...they "stay" on the classic avatar. *maybe* a few people have offered the classic layers in an Omega form, to be able to add to the Maitreya body...but pretty much, you will need to buy/get new mesh clothing for it. Good thing, though...there's a LOT of places that offer quality group gifts, $1L deals, and groups dedicated to 25L, 30L, 35L, 50L, 60L, and others. Plus check on MP...you will be surprised
  6. I also remember it going down pretty regularly...for some reason I don't remember Saturdays, but by Sundays, it would. Pretty regularly. So...yeah. This was...just a minor aggravation.
  7. What defines a "sex bed", then. By a look, how do you tell it's a sex bed. Yes, if there's whips and chains around, and St. Andrew's cross and the like, then yeah. But I have seen "baby girl" rooms, that are all sweet and pink and fluffy, yet have adult animations. or Beach towels, or logs or the like. Note, I am NOT a Linden, but if a child is sitting on a bed, just sitting. Or being cuddled by mom (the SAME pose as would be used in any other child's equipment)...I should say it should be "acceptable" as long as extreme care is taken not to move such animation to an adult-themed one, or that could be perceived as such. There are many beds (and other furniture) being sold in PG and A versions...do we need to put a scarlet A on the ones that are bad? (or a G on the ones that are G-rated?). Now, conversely...if a room is decorated for, and is used "exclusively" by a child avatar....THEN I would think, if a piece of furniture has an adult animation in it...then it should be...well, that's quirky. Yes, it has come down to "one bad apple" (or in this case, those that do, and those who imagine that it does happen)...But, honestly, why go looking for it to happen? It should be the actions of the child avatar, and those around them. My understanding is, a child avatar can be on a nude sim (like nude beaches or nude living areas in RL)...as long as no adult behavior happens. If a child walks in, say, to where a couple are doing sexualized activity...they should be able to turn and walk away (tp away/etc) if it is a sim that it is allowed. Conversely...if a child is there, and the couple starts it..that should not be allowed, but yet, also, the child should know to move away. (in this example, I was thinking of a Moderate market that I owned. children and Goreans both came to the market to shop. If a Master and slave were there, the slave kneeling, topless, lets say, and the child tp's in...they should have moved to another area, or left, as that activity happened first. However, if a child is shopping, and a Master and slave came in, then she knelt, and started to state all the things she could do with the fruit, for example...well, the responsibility just fell on the adult. Although...again, the child should either inform them, or take themselves away, to prevent any miscommunication or misunderstanding that could result in them leaving. There are many groups, that are pg in nature, yet the conversations can get rather adult (gacha conversations, animal/food conversations, cat conversations, I imagine horse and other animal conversations)...In those groups, I know children either do not converse, or learn how to deflect the conversation. Yes, this comes around over and over...but a lot of it is the 'squick' nature. I get a lot going "I could never do that", referring to a child avatar, yet they do furry, or elf, or BDSM, or Gor...and it's funny, from the child side, I get a lot of the same comments in reverse. I think most of this is just...you develop your SL life, let others run with theirs. Too many seek to control others' SL life (and RL, also). Remember, that SL person that you are talking to, or picking on, or whatever, could be your next door neighbor, your friend, in some cases, could even be a relative, and you may not even know it!
  8. If you compare it to, say, internet, or the cable company, they don't pay you (at least, in my memory), unless it's been out for 24 hours. In the 24 hours, there has been significant up-time. Note...yes, I am very frustrated with this, also. It can lose sales, lose productive work time, and of course, if you only have 1 hour to come on to feed animals, tend fields, exercise, whatever happens that Is time-driven and consumeable...well, sadly, Lindens can't really plan these types of outages around them. I do remember for the first 3 years or so that I was on SL (I joined in 2006). SL had "planned" shutdown time from 12pm - 4pm. *if* you got it back by 7pm...it was an awesome night. There were times that you could not get back on reliably til Friday. You learned on those days, don't plan on serious things on Wednesdays and Thursdays...and crossed your fingers even, on Fridays. and yes....I should have done things...laundry, dishes...are they done? nope. I sat, like others, going "relog...relog...relog..." but I did watch a good movie last night..."Mute"
  9. I do remember one time, when i was forced to look at a neighbor's ads trying to get people from my furniture store (gorean) to go to her store (furniture/animations, also gorean), I placed a wall blocking her items. She then made them larger, higher than my walls. This became griefing, and they were able to talk to her, and cause her to remove her items. There is also a height limitation of items...it's been...6 years? 7 years? since I ran into this, but after, they instigated a rule that blocked the size of ads on mainland...I am thinking either 8m or 10m, and no, you can't start the ad at 10m, and then make the top 18m. It cannot also have things like items shooting out of it, sparklers, etc... It can also be griefing, because he is not limiting his shouting with his relay hud to 20m. You can state to him, that perhaps once every 10 minutes (or 5, if you are nice), that all customers interested in his <blank> auction (blank = cars, clothes, land, etc), please come to within 20m. This stops the shouting from affecting *all* people, on his land, your land, other people's land. Perhaps you could put up a sign, asking customers who are affected by this, who are aggravated by it, to send a report to customer service, because if others are bothered, then it perhaps changes from an argument between 2 people, to a sim problem. I also agree with perhaps moving up in the sky...there is also a benefit that lag lessens, when you move up. Perhaps at 1,000m, you won't hear him, you don't have to put up with his signs, and you can move up. You can put up a sign saying "moved due to rude neighbor" (without mentioning a name, perhaps), and maybe he will get the message. I had had my store on ground level, the aforementioned person made her store by mine (and it was UGLY...she made no attempt to make it look like a "real" building), then when I moved mine up, she moved hers up, and so on and so forth, so I do understand. Anyway...I wish you luck, and I hope that you can resolve this. Honestly, I believe that moving it up would be the best, because it will get you out of his range, move your customers from his range, and out of sight of his store/auction (removing your clients from being his potential customers, since he is being rude and not assisting you.)
  10. The problem that i find, is that you cannot be listed as the creator on mesh. Sculpties, you get the map, and make the sculpt, and it shows you as the creator. Mesh items, i like, but there is no way in world to show you as the creator, unless there is some off-SL way, like sending files via emails, which most don't want to do. I have had a request of a couple of items, that i have asked to be made, and the creators don't want to send me the file. Sadly, it's a problem that is frustrating, but i know tere's a way to get around it. I saw something about making mesh from prims? how do you do that? I want a back to a chair made out of prims made into mesh! Thanks, Kittyn
