  1. Yes, in a MMORPG game I play I tried to cam out of habit. Not usually but a couple of times I copped a move from one of the MOCAP dances I own.
  2. I'm looking for eyes whose cornea don't fill up so much of the space. I also don't want them too small that they're beady. I've seen different sizes at a place my friend recommended but am looking for something with less reflection and less shading on the white of the eye. Do other eye makers offer different cornea sizes as well? Thanks!
  3. Thanks all. How ironic. I saw Carter - Madhu had a simple display over a full blown receiver and that's why I'm here. Just wished I knew how to make it display null if my stream is off.
  4. All I want is to have hovertext of the parcel's current song and artist. I don't want a radio tuner, which is everywhere I look. I don't even need a station name. Just "Now Playing" and the two lines. I pored through parameters on wiki sites and don't see any for just displaying that info. Is it harder than it sounds? Thanks!
  5. Patrick, keep in mind that you get most of the fee back in Lindens with a weekly allowance - excuse me: <word no one ever uses>stipend </word no one ever uses>
  6. For those who write about what they don't know because they enjoy their own drivel: There's no crime in someone riding a plane across mainland as long as they don't invade someone's privacy and ride through their living rooms. There's a big difference between that and an unmanned vehicle hoarding protected routes and pummeling people with sales every few minutes. Bless Cubey Terra for offering several types of rides and no solicits during a ride and a vehicle which derezzes shortly after takeoff if it is not boarded. He doesn't have to hit anybody on the head with hardsell just because they want to ride a plane to Nova Albion or Bay City. It helps to have most of a sim width for a runway. This gives residents time to catch the plane while leave very little of it around after take-off. Likewise when I've ridden them in the past to Nova Albion, I'd often bail out with a parachute; the plane would immediately derez without a passenger. Builders exercising ethical practices and consideration to the rest of SL residents do wonders for the morale of of Second Life and deserve more business IMHO. Let Cubey's reputation speak for itself. Captain Jack, until recently they didn't go to the Northern Continent (which refers to Heterocera Atoll), but with the new route going west to Bay City, if you stay on the plane through Hau Koda it will continue and take the Northern Passage to leave you at Calleta. Or so I've heard. I want to try it since my own boating and hoverboarding haven't worked out with some of those crossings.
  7. I just wished those new regions in the northern passage were more stable that I could complete a trip. The new southern passage I've traveled several times with only a couple of hairy moments but no crashes. --||-
  8. Great. Let me know if search gives you trouble, I made sure I bookmarked several areas of their sims this time.
  9. UPDATE Found it. WUNDERBAR! prefabs and furniture. They've changed a little but it's them. These Victorian homes deserve more recognition. They're relatively lower prims for the details and no alpha clashing. I'm just glad they're still here. It will help me with decisions down the line.
  10. It was 2-1/2 to 3 years ago. Second Life has long usurped those textures and landmarks. This was how I found the place: There was an elegant cape cod style house and I contacted the creator, who said it was available for free as it was an old model (didn't know people did that). I went to their prefab sim and found even better stuff: The sim was high up in the sky and there were warning signs to remain on the path as you'd fall through if you walked on the grass. There were two treehouses, but they were fully realized cottages in trees. You walked up steps to a front porch / deck, then through the trunk or large branch to the house proper. The wood textures were beautiful vintage, rich with tone. The houses were I think victorian and cornish. very nice. Other parts of that sim included a highway or rail tresle, bridges also for sale. The center of the sim had a shop to buy textures. I bought a couple but they're gone thanks to Linden Lab (I swear these people owe me at least a month's tier in lost LMs builds uploads and purchases). Marketplace doesnt have them either. I want to get one of the treehouses. I have had leads but they all went cold. I've seen two almost treehouses but they werent the same rich craftsmanship and texturing and were missing the front deck level. The person who owners the cape cod house is long gone from that spot. If any of this rings a bell, please let me know? Thanks!
  11. Heterocera Atoll rocks! Sure we have dried grass and coral shores, but... We have the roads! We have the rails! We have the views along the west coast! We have TMA in Nessus! We have great places to explore in the northmost point including the Silver King Grill in Ranunculus Don't forget The Starship Diner in Hydrangea (I stock a full food replicator) The Tudor Village to the southwest in Lebeda Tenera, former home of the mentors Hobo Village and the railyards of neat train builds are in Calleta Start your ride north in Pyri to travel up that highest point on Mainland I can live with the dried grass in my altitude. We have serious homesteaders giving the continent character
  12. Pauline Darkfury wrote: The neighbour who was legitimately but deliberately interfering with the use of the scenic sphere is a bad neighbour, There is only one wrong person in this: the one trying to get something for nothing at the cost of their neighbors. The legitimate owner of that space is fighting back. Their cube is on THEIR property. Regardless of the contents in the sphere, the 512er is using their neighbor's prim resources and space as well as lagging the region with a supersize megaprim (which is against usage policy. LL turns a blind eye to megaprims CONDITIONALLY)
  13. Well it's not just one place, but here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/cyclops is a region north of purple. Now there are regions west of this, a layer of water regions along the northern color coastline. Below Fuchisia you'll see there is now added northern coastline to Suburbs (Shermerville NW and Blumfield) which become part of the Gulf of Lauren. Also, they're careful to avoid the cornfield.
  14. Hoverboarded from my place in north Atoll to Hau Koda in about 40 minutes with occasional stopping to check the maps and remount after hitting a banline. Friend and I estimate once the route is familiar it could take half an hour. The travel includes passing the Fuchisia infohub. Without sealife or terraforming, the regions look invisible on a map. There were no crashes but each crossover on the new water regions involved heavy drift, but recovered each time.
  15. Aha! You left Bay City - Daley Bay out too, just like the map does for me. That's where the Bay City Center is, and I really wish they had that region taken off a forced landing point as well. I suspect it isn't apparent to the Lindens that many of us point and click on the map to go somewhere.
  16. You invest HOW much per month to show on top of search?! Well, it looks like there's a cap on it now. Unless you have a contract with Linden Labs over an agreed monthly infusion, I don't see where you have any leg to stand on, virtually or otherwise. You choose to use a social site for business. It isn't a business site people are using for social gatherings.
  17. Location: Cartoon World Gallery on the ArtSpace level in Bay City - Falconmoon I'll be subjecting you to highly danceable - and sometimes silly - pop music from the 1970s. General content - Kid avatars welcome. Don't tip the DJ - please donate to the Relay for Life Kiosk! http://slurl.com/secondlife/Bay%20City%20-%20Falconmoon/98/149/248
  18. This was a major dance in the 1960s. So why doesn't anyone offer it? Female AND male please.
  19. Are those Giant Snails in that shot? Hmmm! Yeh no taller than 8m from local ground level (you cant terraform a spike and put the 7m on that and expect leniency), no glow, spinning, chatspam, audiospam... I dont know why anyone would do that either. Put it in search and make something flat for the map.
  20. I had the same problem when i was new. I didnt see them on the world map. I removed some extraneous things like telehubs from showing, then the $'s formed clusters. Moving in closer, these resembled entire continents. Maps! Inworld, go to NCI aka New Citizens Incorporated. (My favorite location is at Fishermans Cove) They have large map prims. if you click them you can get copies for yourself. For the adventurer in you there's the LDPW maps which plot out protected routes (until you get hit by some ugly garbage truck, but that's for another thread) http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Department_of_Public_Works_Roads
  21. If they weren't SPACE pigs it could be derogatory. At least this does refer to a pig
  22. Many Lindens who got the axe had properties and Office Hours in Grasmere. Although Torley now uses private estates, he still has an official parcel in Grasmere, hence the magenta and green on the map. Bay City Westside is bad grammar altogether. You might be on the west side of Bay City, but those regions are Bay City West. Manhattan's eastside/westside designations are slang with official communities such as Central Park West, Yorkville, Spanish Harlem, Washington Heights, etc. Mari: I got the impression Moose Head Beach was part of Gulf of Lauren?
  23. There is a crashed spacecraft of pigs on an islet. Sorry but it IS The Bay of Space Pigs! The older regions are referred to as The Color Regions by people who talk about them. Exceptions being DaBoom, which they just call The Oldest Region LOL I only know the tourist streets of San Francisco. It makes sense they'd have a sector for SF streets...
