  1. Yes, you should remove the sphere. When you place an object on your parcel that projects onto a neighboring parcel, your object is said to be encroaching on your neighbor's property. He is justified in filing an abuse report against you for that.
  2. What's your status now? Are you still naked or do you appear clothed? What viewer are you using? Are you using the standard viewer or one of the third party viewers like Phoenix or Imprudence? I think you will find your SL experience much more enjoyable if you switch to one of the third party viewers. In world I suggest you join NCI and pose questions for help to the group through IMs. Someone is always online and are very helpful: http://world.secondlife.com/group/25e187d1-3e88-b05c-9d2d-2dceeb9d4bc3
  3. Immy isn't just cute, she's darkly cute and it's hard to compete with that. In comparison, WolfFangchu is brightly cute and to appreciate the full range of his or her beauty you have to wear a pair of dark glasses.
  4. I think you and Imnotgoing Sideways would make good friends. She likes to make the faces, you know stuff like =^.^= and (^.^)y You and her could chat like crazy in face text. Hit her up with an IM and see what happens.
  5. Try Land/Parcel issues or Other Land Issues under Land & Region. It is not important to get the category exactly right, just get a ticket in and describe the problem, provide a slurl and maybe attach a screen shot.
  6. deanimo wrote: hello, sorry for bother you again... but is there any way to keep a variable value after the llResetScript?! and other question.. is there any way to read the value of a variable inside other script located inside another prim linked in the same object? thanks. No bother. I live to answer questions. It gives meaning to my boring and mundane existence. Question No. 1, is there any way to keep a variable value after llResetScript? I think so. Store the variable in the object's description and read it back from there after a script reset. Question No. 2, is there any way to read the value of a variable inside other script located inside another prim linked in the same object? I can think of a couple of approaches, both of which involve code in the other script inside said another prim. The most straightforward approach would be to have this other script send a message using llMessageLinked, which transmits the value of the variable. Alternatively, have the other script write something to the object description and read it from there.
  7. Is the parcel group owned? I tried to buy a parcel that gave me the same message a couple of times awhile back. The parcel is still listed for sale months later. Maybe you're trying to buy the same parcel. I think the group that owns the land no longer exists and so when you try to buy it you get an error message that says destination not found, as in no group found to which the purchase price should be sent to. If you really want the parcel, you'll probably have to submit a ticket.

I have tried to put information on it in the past but I don't have much to say about my second life except that I'm new, and I'm worried that would make people less likely to approach me. That might just be me being paranoid though. Thank you everyone for the advice. I will be attempting to fix up my profile tonight and to be patient with the entire social process. Try this: Been gone for a long time and I'm back in black as a masked cat or maybe a bat. Looking for a few good friends and one or two great lovers or maybe a threesome (kidding). Seriously, IM me. You can never have too many batty cat friends. Think about joining some chatty groups. Friends are kind of difficult because you have too keep up your end of the conversation and can't suddenly go AFK. With a group, the conversation has a life of its own and you can jump in or leave at any time. I like NCI. Search for it in groups if you're so inclined and join.
  9. Dude, your profile is completely blank. You need to make some kind of effort.

  11. We may all have the same basic desires, but many of those desires are evil unless coupled with self restraint. One of the worst is the desire to dominate. The struggle between good and evil resides in our ability to exercise self-control over our base desires. If there is a heaven, there is also a hell. Simply because we desire the same things doesn't mean all is well.
  12. Willow, Sorry, I didn't realize your situation was so difficult. I would be terrified to live in that part of the world and even more so if I were female. I don't know what country you live in, but I keep thinking of that 14 year old girl in Bangladesh that was whipped to death for being raped last month or the lady yesterday that was whipped in Indonesia and required hospitalization. Why should a women need corraboation from four male witnesses to prove she was not being unchaste? In 1973, the UN adopted the Apartheid Convention defining it as a crime against humanity. If apartheid based upon the color of one's skin is a crime, is apartheid based upon gender not also a crime?
  13. Dana and Venus, Do you each use avatars in world that correspond in attractiveness to your profile photos in this forum? I am assuming you do, but I may be wrong. If you feel like you are receiving too many sects requests and lack for close friends, you might consider trying an animal avatar or maybe something half-way between animal and human. The sex drive is second only to the drive for self-preservation. If your look in world like your forum profile images, your appearance is likely overwhelming to many hetero males. They cannot get past your appearance and their primitive urge to mate drives out all rational thought. You need the men to focus on the person behind the avatar, not the avatar's appearance, to have a chance at establishing close friendship.
  14. I think this is just role playing while not being conscious of it. Dana is playing the role of the super-hot, unapproachable women at the club or bar, besot by males unworthy of her notice. Until finally, Mr. Cool walks in, i.e., Ben Affleck or Tom Cruise or someone of similar stature, who is worthy of her affection. That is a common female fantasy, is it not?
  15. You mean guys don't behave like that in RL? I guess the annonymity makes them ask for what they want a little more directly. Maybe you should put something in your profile, like "Just ask for the secks already. I'll prolly say no, but you might get lucky." I recall hearing a joke long ago about a guy wishing a lady would tell him she's not going to sex him before he wastes a wad of money on overpriced drinks. Maybe the dudes should put something in their profile to the effect of "If you're not going to do me, please tell me now before I waste 20 minutes chatting you."
  16. Feeling lonely a lot is part of the programming. Humans are gregarious animals, like sheep, apes, elephants, dogs, and many other species. We have a deep seated need to be around others of our kind. One of the worst punishments meted out in prisons is solitary confinement. And when we are around each other we fight and bicker. As Buddha concluded, life is suffering. With respect to loneliness, you are lucky that you are a woman. There are some things a woman will never understand about a man, and one of them, is just how lonely men are. You have the luxury of girl friends and don't have to be so careful about your sexual identify. Men do not have that luxury unless they are gay, and it's not the sex for why gay men seem so comparatively happy. One of the best palliatives for loneliness is a dog. True happiness is a dog and a fine day. That is as close to heaven as we get in this world. It is no accident that dog is god spelled backwards. Yep, being a man is a tough job. That's why when I go home at night, I like to put on a pair of panties and a nice dress.
  17. The hover text hangs around even after the script is deleted. You need to blank the hover text. Change llSetText to this in the hover text script: llSetText(" ",<1,1,1>,1); Only the first part matters, the " ". You're setting the text to a blank space. Once the hover text is gone, you can delete the script to save sim resources and cut back on unneccesary lag.

All these women asking me to get naked right away. What kind of a dude do they think I am? If we crossed paths in-world, I wouldn't be one of the guys that asks you for teh secks. I would friend the bejesus out of you. I would go shopping with you, and help you choose just the right pair of shoes to match your new hair, and listen to your complaints about your RL hubby or bf or whatever and admire your fabulous skirt.
  19. Can separate animations be joined togehter into one big animation? Seems like that would be a good solution if technically possible.
  20. Is there only one script? Maybe a script in a child prim is the problem. Did you check all of the child prims for content? Is there a sensor functon for detecting when the owner was last seen? Many scripts check to see when the owner was last sensed and if the owner has not been sensed after a certain amount of time, excecute llDie(). They usually don't freeze the object, though.
  21. OK, I think I understand. I need to add a few more lines of code for alpha. Something like: if(toggle){ params = glow_on; alpha_setting = alpha_half; } else{ params = glow_off; alpha_seting = alpha_zero; } do { llSetLinkPrimitiveParamsFast(llList2Integer(glowing,i),params); llSetLinkAlpha(llList2Integer(glowing,i),alpha_setting, ALL_SIDES); } I actually could not get the do loop to work. There was something incorrect with the link number, so I removed the do loop and hard-coded the correct link. My object is very simple. There are only two child prims and only one of the child prims does something. Unfortunately, my brain has a limited amount of RAM and my input buffer limit is often exceeded.
  22. I just purchased my equipment today. Would you like to help me try it out?
  23. That looks like a very useful and efficient script. I have a follow-up question, how could I set alpha in a child prim with your script? Can it be done with the following line? glow_on = [PRIM_GLOW,ALL_SIDES,0.05];// could change colour, texture and whatever here, too
  24. I think llMessageLinked will meet your needs. See http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlMessageLinked Put in a script in your switch prim this line of code at the appropriate location: llMessageLinked(LINK_SET, 0, "turn on", "") Then in your glow prim, put in a script having this line of code: link_message(integer sender_num, integer num, string msg, key id) Then do something if msg == "turn on" in the glow prim, like set the prim to full bright or change to an orange color or something or maybe both. You will also need to handle a "turn off" message as well or your bbq will be stuck in the on state.
