  1. Yes, I know. Another poster also thought that this thread was about incels:
  2. Depends. Do you dance during zoom meetings and wear a cocktail dress?
  3. Sounds like hell for your men friends. That's like applying for a position with a company, and told you're the perfect candidate. You have all the qualifications we are looking for. The position, though, is filled with someone else less qualified than you and probably an alcohol and drug abuser. Nevertheless, we will never hire you even if the position becomes vacant. We will, however, IM you from time to time and complain about the guy currently occupying the position.
  4. I'm sorry. Very frustrating. Must have been really awesome hair.
  5. You are role playing when you are at a music club in SL. It's not actually a music club and you are not physcally present. It's a chat room that has an appearance of a club and you are behind a computer screen somewhere in RL in your pajamas and probably not wearing high heels. You're just playing the role of a visitor at a music club. What usually happens at music clubs? What do the people there typically want? That's the role play.
  6. It's tough being a dude in SL. That's why most men in SL present themselves as women.
  7. Same thing anyone wants. To be treated like a human - Conversation, debate, laughs, a kind word, silliness or seriousness, to be heard and seen for who they are, connection. So a fragile human connection in a vast and uncaring metaverse? That's too much to ask for. It's an unrealistic expectation. Realistic expectations are bots, AFK avatars, suspicion, hostility, deceit and rudeness.
  8. Nice guys are too shy to post in the forum. Anyone posting here is automatically disqualified as a nice guy. The best you can hope for are people who have succeeded with nice guys to post what nice guys seem to want.
  9. That should make you as about as popular as an Amway salesperson.
  10. Evidently, the reasons why there is so much promiscuity in SL, aka, Sex Life.
  11. The best I encountered was Lost. It sparked this conversation: Rand: "Do you feel lost?" Them: "No, you found me." Rand: "But I didn't know I was looking for you." Them: "No one ever does." Rand: "Were you looking for me?" Them: "No I wasn't. Are you lost?" Rand: "I feel that way a lot." Them: "Don't we all."
  12. If this was a troll, the OP would have replied a few times already to lure in more people. I think it's a legit rant and the OP is angry. SL tends to have that effect on its residents.
  13. I agree the OP is incorrect, but for a different reason. SL was never great. It was just okay.
  14. Maybe this book: How to Make Real Money in Second Life: Boost Your Business, Market Your Services, and Sell Your Products in the World's Hottest Virtual Community. Or perhaps this article in Fortune: Anshe Chung: First Virtual Millionaire Possibly this Wikipedia article: In 2009, the total size of the Second Life economy grew 65% to US$567 million, about 25% of the entire U.S. virtual goods market. Gross Resident Earnings are $55 million US Dollars in 2009 – 11% growth over 2008. Even in 2023, you should be able to earn enough in SL to support your activities without putting any real money into the game.
  15. What about that PC with the RTX4090 so you can watch flying body parts rezz faster? Is that a lot less expensive than a movie?
  16. They want to avoid the open-air drug dens and used syringes and human feces on San Francisco city streets: San Francisco’s once-trendy downtown area has descended into a drug-addled hellscape — where addicts regularly overdose in city-funded “dens of death.”
  17. Locking won't matter. The thieves break the windows: The criminals often engage in “bipping and boosting,” a process in which they smash car windows, grab what they can and quickly drive away, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, which said thieves could often target multiple parked vehicles in a single day.
  18. Not anymore: San Francisco tourists visiting beach for 10 minutes have belongings — including passports — stolen in brazen car smash-and-grab ... In August, the San Francisco Police Department reported nearly 1,670 car break-ins, contributing to nearly 10,000 thefts from vehicles.
  19. What's an example of a current good blogger? Profky Neva at https://3dblogger.typepad.com/second_thoughts/ or Hamlet Au at https://nwn.blogs.com/nwn/ or some other blogger?
  20. Then you should know what to do. If the avatar is bothering you, block and derender.
  21. You have progressed rapidly grasshopper. Use the Firestorm viewer, unlock 1,000 XP and level-up to non-noob.
  22. I suggest someone fro LL should probably recruit someone from the porn industry. It's going to take a deviant to really understand what makes SL tick.
