Santa is spending time in New Orleans City in SL before he heads off on his Christmas Eve journey, so if you STILL need to see  him then pop on over to Bourbon St to make those last minute requests to him. He should be in GREAT spirits considering all the Hurricanes he been drinking!

Lovely place I went to check it out and wound up landing upon TP right next to some yellow lines I am hoping this is because the SL location search tool dumped me in a bad spot.

I did not explore long but when the first thing you see is yellow lines around what looked like a lovely and well decorated Restaurant my feeling of welcome is totally out the window.

I under stand that the floor above in that building could be a private residence and that's cool we have the right to protect our privacy but you may want to set a landing point away from anything that would ruin the feeling of welcome to your sim and perhaps at a welcome area where you can see pictures and get note cards of the exciting thing you have to offer visiters

    Hello Vanessa.

I´m  very sorry that you had such a bad experience at NOLA, this time.

I totally understand, that you were not pleased.

Please let me explain what happened there at this time: There were several LL server updates and restarts, that caused major problems in the whole SIM. For this case, several complains of NOLA renters reached me. Several weren´t able to reach their own rented propperty in town, because some of the main parcel settings changed weird, after all the restarts and updates. After this, the whole SIM was unaviable for almost 3 full hours ! Here you can see, that we had really major problems.

But I was able to fix and bring back all to normal the next day and meanwhile all what you described, is gone now.

So feel free to give it another try and enjoy the city without such problems ☺️

        Friendly Greetings.

Very late response because I didnt realise you'd replied to me.. but the answer is....

Folk/traditional  - mostly ballads and story songs - leavened with some more recent tunes and cuts from different genres (because everyone knows a folk musician will snag anything with a good melody and meaningful lyrics. Plus, if there's a jam session or group sing going anywhere, in any style, you'll find the folkies drawn to it like moths to a candle)

    Very nice !

Maby you are interested into making a show at the Preservation Hall ?  *points to the post above* 😊

Thanks and thank you for sharing your works with the grid!  It was so much fun. New Orleans has been on my list of places to visit in RL and I hope to get the chance someday.

I´ll keep my fingers cross for your plan.

New Orleans is such an amazing place to stay ! I´m very sure you´ll love it ! 😊

Memento  mori .. A moment of last respects paid..

    Snapshot_002_010.png

This is very touching, that she´s still in the thoughts of so many people.

Time flies (even in SL a little faster than outside) and people tend to go on with their lifes. The memories fade and turn into some vague white fog, which becomes a little more distant with each passing day and month. Until the time, when nothing remains, than the dull feeling, that there is a hole in some hearts, that will never heal complete any more.

Thank you so much for keeping Amanda´s memory alife !

    Wish you were here ...

Nice looking sim!  Caught a streetcar ride. Mouselook mode makes it feel as if you're really sitting in the car looking out the windows.

    What a great video ! I Love it ! 😊

Thank you so much for sharing it here ! 🤩

@Sandrine Vanbeeck : So good to notice your presence here. I have been wanting to contact you and ask you how you have been in the meantime, but I also reckoned I should not as I was and am a complete stranger to you both.

Could you perhaps share a visual fond memory of Amanda and you ? Would love to see them here.

Thank you for your kind words.

This here is one of the very last pics I took of her. It was taken in our dining room at our New Orleans home. We had the habbit to TP in and out at this place and say good bye for the night there. I also took this pic to display it at her memorial service at our old Club "Second Home" in New Orleans.

She was a real beauty, not only on the outside. If you look closeley, you can see the sparks in her eyes. This is so totally her.        Her warm and kind nature, was a pure joy to experience.

I´m amazed and fascinated to see how many, many people she touched in here and in SL in general. I got so much the compassion from so many different people. You can say ... she was one of those rare "one in a million" humans, to bring something special to others. A lot of people in her Navy group, the friends, the renters of New Orleans and people from the SL forum, were touched by her in a good and positive way. I could not imagine any more, you could ask for.

Since she is gone, I tried to go on with life and keep the things she loved, find a new "normal" for me. It is very hard, very strange and still hurts like hell. On some days it goes better ... on other days it´s not possible.

This is her at our living room at the christmas time. It was always her "duty" to decorate for christmas.

OMG you are too funny!  I'm happy that no one was injured!

I suppose the driver is missing and assumed drunk?   🙂

Who would have thought, that the park can be such a dangerous place ?!  😉

I was looking for the post from TD of Amanda, but I guess it was deleted.

Would it be inappropriate to post pictures of her today, since she was missed? I think that should be a thing, to pay respects to those who have passed on. I don't know her, but I think all of her lovely pictures should be posted, to show everyone how beautiful she was. Maybe even quotes of conversations that they felt inspired by from her.

Since I´m the widow of Amanda, you are maby interested into my opinion.

I would love to see her pics in here. I also think it´s kind of a memorial for her.

I made a post with a collection of some of her pics and some other related stuff  click here

  10. Breaking News !

Tragic accident with NOLA public transport !

In the early evening of the 26th of September 2021, the city authorities finally solved the riddle of the missing St. Charles Streetcar. One felt down from the (above the city) working platform about 2 weeks ago and was never seen again. A city hall clerk assured us, that "no one called the authorities in this case". Until today. A walker in the park discovered it today and finally called the authorities. The walker, Jony Codesmith, a NOLA renter, said:   " I was as surprised as you are now, when I found it in the park!".

Until the evening, the clearing up on the scene was still in progress.
