  1. Oh the only thing we have to say to the non-nerds is, "We just bought the company you work for. You're fired. Have a Merry Christmas."
  2. I've found that wearable vehicles are the best. You don't have the excessive speed which makes control difficult and you don't have to worry about rezzing. You just wear the vehicle and drive off. The downside is you cannot carry passengers very well, if at all, depending on scripting, but for just driving yourself around, they are the way to go.
  3. I'm just sort of wondering how the policy can be enforced now. If the neighbor who might see you doing something naughty can't see you, how can they file an AR unless you are loudly moaning in open chat in their hearing range?
  4. Well, let's see. The Linden homes were obviously set up to get people to get premium memberships. But with a premium membership I believe you still can own a 512 without tier, which is the lot size for a Linden home. The Linden homes are prim intensive, a 70 prim house does not leave a lot of prims for decorating. But if you get a low prim building (or build one yourself, with the new megaprims you can make a big house with very few prims indeed. ) there are more than enough prims for decorating if you go with low prim furniture. All of which means the Linden homes don't make a lot of sense.
  5. I own a number of 512 plots, and a 1048. One of the 512 is my private home and the 1048 is for members of my group so they don't have to pay rent, RL friends on SL. And then there are a couple for just playing with.
  6. Try this. Open your inventory go to outfits. Pick one, any one, right click on the folder and click "replace outfit." That should cause your av to render and then you can put your old self back on.
  7. I like them too. I can hop on one and, assuming it does not fly into the air when it hits a region line or collides with another car, ride in it from one property I own to easy walking distance of another. And never quite knowing when you are going to fly off into space does add a bit of random excitement to the trip.
  8. We don't pay tier to be good neighbors. We pay tier to enjoy our land. It would seem from one look at the sphere described by the OP that it could not be moved as it would overlap everyone around it. So talking to the person would not make much sense, would it? And someone who is going to put a house over a sandbox is not interesting in being any kind of neighbor. On the other hand, my sandbox owner neighbor is a very good person and he immediately acted to remove an offending object as soon as I wrote him which makes me very happy for two reasons. First it means I have a good neighbor. Second, I have a sandbox next door to build on.
  9. Same here. I like the reliability of dealing directly with LL and not having to worry about the landlord as well as being a libertarian and not having to worry about a convenant and figuring out ways to get around it. Frankly I like, really like, having different types of builds around. It makes life interesting having an art gallery next door, a sandbox next door and a road going close by with those silly bot cars bumping into each other and hitting the region line and flying off into space.
  10. Well, encroachers sometimes simply act in error and the matter is easily dealt with. When folks build in the air they can lose track of propety boundries really easy. Or sometimes SL belches and things suddenly find themselves where no one expected them to be, like one time I came home to discover a dining room set in my attic! The neighbor was putting it in and it disappeared from her house and ended up in mine. But then there are the occasional unfortunates who for some reason don't quite understand that we pay good tier for our land and we are somewhat jealous of our air rights. Recently someone decided to use a sandbox next door to me to put up his house and as his bad luck would have it, his bed just happened to be on my land. So as I stood on the roof (on my property mind you) and cammed in, the opportunity for some legal nastiness was just too good to ignore, so I dropped a nice big prim right into the middle of his bed. The purple cube was a wonderful idea. I will have to build one and keep it in the inventory for just such an occasion.
