Your connection needs debugging. To do that you disable some things in the meantime: Remove your router Turn off all other programs. Use the Task Manager to turn off non-essential programs running in the background. Turn off your anti-virus and firewall. Check your connections with pings to: Secondlife.com and to your default router (use IPCONFIG to your default router address). If you there is any data loss to the default router, the problem is your connection. Alt=:smileywink:

The friends list has become harder to manage ever since they started using web profiles to make privacy settings! I never add someone unless they're a VIP to me, or some person of interest, or if not: then they must approach my avatar and converse with me and cause me to like them. The words they say isn't what makes me like them. I like them if I see something in them that appeals to me. People who talk to much might get muted. Once they are on my list, I rarely remove them unless I feel they failed the above yet somehow convinced me to add them. People who are obviously phishing for avatar behavior or RL information are removed when my suspictions make me uncomfortable. Also people who emote to me as soon as I login are candidates for friendship removal if I hardly know them. Other than that, most people on my list need very little 'managing', most people are friendly and respectful. Alt=:smileywink:

A good practice is to offer employees competitive wages. And if you're hiring someone for RL skills (graphic design, coding, designing) pay them RL wages. Employers should not use SL to sponge RL services from people while paying them SL wages. For example: if you want a graphic designer, a good one, then expect to receive a bid based on $25+/hr (L$6000+/hr) because they are providing a Real Life service. Employers can expect the overall quality of their business to reflect this practice. Alt=:smileywink:

Making money in the game is not easy, it's easier to just use REAL $ to buy the game money. Here's why: Getting a job in SL is very hard to do unless you want to work third world country wages. Camping has been banned. If you can find legitimate forms of it, you can earn maybe L$5 or L$10 per hour. Hardly worth it. Dancing is over-rated. You maybe L$0-L$1000 per hour, which again is hardly worth it unless you' re doing it for the fun. Some people in SL like to promote dancing to newbies because it suits their adult agenda for SL. We know who they are... Your best bet is to create something and sell it, because then you can make income without hardly any further work except maintaining your stores. The EASIEST way is to just buy L$. Don't buy into the idea that you can just get a job in SL.. it's a lie. Believe me, or find out the hard way. Alt=:smileywink:

Yes, this is another problem with privacy in SL, which they probably won't ever change because a few people think "last login" should be known... It's basically a stalker's tool more than it is useful for honest group members.

Forget about SL until you solve your connection problems. Do some diagnostics, like checking ping times to secondlife.com. And check your own ping to your ISP by pinging your default router. If you don't get 100% results to your own ISP, then the problem is your own connection such as telephone wires, or your computer itself. No one in SL can help you if this is the case, which is a lot more common than people think.

Landmark graphics are determined by the parcel settings. The only way to change a landmark graphic is to change the graphic in the parcel. The parcel does NOT have to be shown in search for this graphic to work. To access parcel settings, go to the land and right click it, you should see something "About Land" etc which will give you a bunch of settings you can change including parcel graphic. Is your store in a mall? In this case, chances are you do not have authorization to change land settings. You're better off finding your own parcel to rent and advertising yourself rather than relying on traffic from a mall. Alt=:smileywink:

Sound like a connection problem, is your router too secure that it is blocking your own traffic. You might be experiencing packet loss, in which case no one can fix it except your ISP or telephone people checking wires on your house.

There is no way you can get all in-world objects returned to you by Linden Labs. They don't provide that service.

Sounds like modify and copy were not given before deeding, in which case you've permanently lost those permissions on those objects. Check the object permissions before you deed them next time. Deeding is just like giving an object to another person, the permissions become set permanently. You can take the objects back, if you were the one who deeded them to the group. If the object is no-modify/no-copy/TRANSFER, they can be taken by any group member with permissions to take group objects. Alt=:smileywink:
