  1. No - it isn't at all. It stands for Big Beautiful Woman..... there is nothing adult about it. It's only a minority that have pushed it into the fetish circles, particularly in SL, and removed it's original meaning behind the term.... but originally it was started to try and promote self acceptance - because society has such terrible misconceptions of fat people and feels it's ok to abuse them. The original campaign to try and stop the self hatred that many fat people felt, because of the abuse they continutally received on the streets, started out rather like the "No Body Shame Campaign" in real life by Whitney Way Thore (Google her - she's incredible). The No Body Shame Campaign (as was the original BBW and BBHM campaign) is a movement that recognizes obesity as a complex, multi-faceted issue that is best dealt with by first unapologetically loving yourself as you are, without being shamed out of a gym or off a dance floor. A movement that knows positive change can’t start, or be sustained, until you are truly kind to yourself from the inside out.
  2. Check out the horses at Branagh's Barn. They are expensive, but I love my 3 to bits, that I got from there! And you get free updates as and when. Her blog , so you can keep up to date with what she is doing with the horses, is here: http://fionasstuff.wordpress.com/
  3. I am trying to post our event in Search, about my club's party, but it won't let me. I've posted with similar type notes before without trouble, but now it gives me the error message " Please correct the following: The event appears to contain adult material, but is on a General or Mature region. Please choose an adult region. Refer to the Maturity ratings wiki page for more details." ______________________________________________________________ It doesn't make sense to me - as this was the message I was trying to post: "ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE PARTY ARGH!!!! The grid has been infected!!!! Zombies are everywhere!!! The compound at the BBW Heaven Beach Club was breached a while ago - but don't let that stop you lurching our way for our Zombie party!..and welcoming back DJ Vicious to his old stomping ground. If you stagger out to one party this year - make it this one - people are simply dying to get in here! Dress as a Zombie (plenty of Zombie related free stuff on Marketplace under Zombie and Blood Splatter), or come as you are - we always welcome fresh blood! Please note, private areas of your body, should be kept private...or they may become infected and have to be removed! Lol." ______________________________________________________________ I even tried removing words like 'body' and 'compound' even though I've used them before.... but no. Same error message. So what is wrong with my advert? Anyone? :/
  4. I had a special event booked tonight, with a live singer, and had been extensively promoting it all week within my club. The event was to start at 2pm slt. And promised to be great! The club filled early, which was fantastic, and everyone was excited, and looking forward to the concert, however very last minute technical difficulties meant that the booked act wasn't able to perform. Now, I'm not one to panic, but I couldn't let all my wonderful group members down, who'd showed up in force, and I knew I had to find someone super-fast to help me out with a live act, as that is what I had promised my group. I had the added pressure of also knowing that they had to meet the high standard of criteria that we have from our performers here, and also that I needed to get someone in literally minutes, so yea - the pressure was definitely on! I had recently booked, for our Valentine's day Formal ball, a new performer to our venue, and I had noticed that he is working really hard in SL at the moment performing and getting bookings. Also, and more importantly, as he was really popular with our regulars at the club too, so he was my first port of call for help. I contacted RickyLiveMusic 's agent, called Kitten (tudie27). I explained the situation, and asked if he was available, or wanted to be available to sing for us, immediately..... a minute later, after checking his booking schedule, and seeing if he could do it, she came back with a wonderful response of yes (THANK YOU KITTEN, Tudie27), and he'd be right over! Oh my goodness! The relief! RickyLiveMusic arrived within a minute, rezzed a tip jar as agreed, and immediately started engaging with the audience, via his stream, welcoming everyone individually where possible, while getting sorted, and then singing - BRILLIANT!!!! What a professional! :D He even promoted the Venue Tip Jar, and mentioned how important it was to support the Venue's, several times during the concert. The club was full throughout the event, and the regular's loved it, even IM-ing me to say they were enjoying the concert and could we have him back. It was also great to see that the people stayed on well after the concert to party with us, because the chat was still flowing, and spirits were still high. Ricky gave a superb performance that made everyone happy. He had a great connection with the crowd, and gave the whole event a real atmosphere. Several of his own group members tp-ed in, to join us too. Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. So basically - as I think it's important to thank people, who have done nice things, and that I know this guy is working super hard to promote himself, and bring people pleasure through his performances - I thought, what better place to publicly thank him, than right here, and to recommend him to other live venues looking for a fantastic act, that can tailor his performance in seconds to your event needs, as I found out tonight. RickyLiveMusic and his agent, saved my behind today, and created a fantastic atmosphere, with some great laughs too. If you need a quality, professional, live performer, - look him up, catch one of his shows, and IM his agent. We will definitely have him back soon at our club, and I really think all my regulars would lynch me if I didn't. LOL. Thanks Ricky and Kitten (tudie27), for making what could have been a total disaster, into a complete triumph! Can't wait to have you back again soon, at the BBW Heaven Beach Club. THANK YOU!!!!!
  5. Does anyone have a good working stream address, for lighthearted Christmas/holiday season music, I can put on the radio in the club I manage? Thanks in advance.
  6. I always stop for the Silence. I was upset last year, when working in a rl Government job in the UK, we were neither allowed to observe the silence, nor wear Poppys. I did. I was told off. But I stood proud with my Poppy, even if I used the excuse of getting a drink, in order to take my silence, to remember the ones that lost their lives, not only on the battlefields, but as innocents on all sides, in bombing raids, and other War related atrocities. In the SL Club I have managed, every year for the last 6 years, I have sent out a message to my Group, with a Poppy attached. I'm not sure if all countries use the Poppy as a symbol, but I attach it anyway. This year my message read: "Today, the world unites in mutual respect and honour of our fallen ones, who had their lives stolen too soon by the pity of War. I ask you to take a moment to let your minds wander into silence. The lost people, just a few short months before, may have danced in Clubs together, run through the Cities, and sang in our Churches. They were people like us, who loved sharing, talking, and even weeping together. There were animals lost too, who had lives on farms, and as valued pets, and were turned to service by man, or died by the cruel twist of War. They too, must be honoured and remembered for the part they played in our histories. Wherever you are - I ask you to take a moment to remember them, and acknowledge the past, so that we can all do our best to prevent this from happening again. I ask you to take a moment to remember them, so their lost lives are not lost in vain, amongst the transient sands of time. Thank you." I had a lot of praise from people about that message, assuring me that they would observe the silence today, and asking if I would be doing anything within the club for it. Then, last night, some people were in my club, and because I wore my Poppy, we ended up talking about War, and soldiers, and Veterans Day (we call it Armistice Day in the UK). So I put out a memorial out and laid a Poppy wreath, and placed down some candles in our own tribute. Today, they and others returned, and we sat around it, talking tales of relatives that were lost in the batles, and of stories we'd heard, and of memorials we'd seen. It was really special, and for the first time, in a long time in SL, I felt I had done something to truly honoured the victims of war, and given people a chance and a place, to pause and reflect. At 11am this morning, I, alone in my front room, stood up, bowed my head, and took my silence, and vowed to always remember them.
  7. BBW Heaven Beach Club, has been active and alive in SL for 9 years - and we are still going strong! We are a friendly, tolerant, respectful, clean club, who as long as people are respectful and polite, and your private bits are kept private, we welcome all. Our Sim has a range of residential, and commercial properties, as well as the club, we have natural chillout areas, a wrestling area, and a bowling alley, and a 24hour concierge service available via a number of dedicated and loyal staff members. In the club - we have a friendly group of cheeky, lively regulars, who are quite picky in their music tastes, so you must be utterly adaptable, and be able to take instruction without offence.....but most importantly, be ready to have fun!!!! I need a very special DJ, or two, who can play at Euro-friendly times (usually 2pm-4pm slt), and mainly at weekends, but some week day events, to come and join our team and already resident DJ's. I am looking for someone who is willing to take an active part in creating their playlists, to try and match our event themes. You are free to discuss for suggestions before hand, and brainstorm with any of the staff and regulars about tunes, if you wish, and most times, I will also give you a say on what themes you want to play too as well (as long as it's clean! Lol). I want you to love the place, and be active in our club, not just turn up for the job and leave as soon as possible afterwards. I would love you to be able to take requests, or be willing to download on the fly at request, and if you voice - even better, but not essential, as long as you can engage in main chat too. Invite your friends to hangout too, as long as you can work and hangout with them, and they too are clothed and respectful, it's all cool by us. We want you to enjoy the nights, as much as we do! You will receive a fee, and be able to keep all your tips. I and our host will promote your set a week before hand, every day, and support you during your set - including encouraging people to tip you. In return we ask that you promote the club/sim, and also the following event (details would be provided). We do not actively use sound gestures in the club, and we don't spam our guests - but we do enough promotion to get noticed. Our main appeal is our friendly banter and attitude, and we want you to join in! Our events, usually mean the club is entirely decorated to theme, and our themes tend to go all out in effort. All the Host staff join in with decorating, and theme suggestions, and all our staff come and hangout at the club, when they feel like it....which usually ends up most days too. Lol. I think that says a lot about who we are. The club has become a home for many, and we want any DJ to feel that way too. We dress to theme too, but competitions have never really worked for us, as people come for the club and the banter. We LOVE trivia, so if you can pull up questions from Google beforehand and run some sort of trivia in between songs, our lot will LOVE LOVE LOVE you! Lol. We accept most music genres, EXCEPT, Techno, House, Trance, Garage, Ska, Dubstep, or Metal music. We've tried before and seen the club empty....and this is what I meant by "must take instruction" - if it's not working for us, I will let you know, so you can tailor your playlist the next time. I have been Manager at the club for nearly 7years, and I am proud to know our guests tastes and expectations. Whether you are new to DJ-ing, and are trying to get work, or if you are an experienced DJ, and feel you fit the description, contact me inworld for a chat - Jinnywitha Cleanslate - if I'm offline, let me know what times you are normally about, and I will get back to you. If you are already working in SL and looking for extra work - let me know when and where you are working so I can come and have a listen and a chat. ALL EMPLOYMENT WILL HAVE A TRIAL PERIOD. Looking forward to hearing from you! :D
  8. I don't know if anyone remembers the build, or know if there is something similar on the grid. When the New Orleans disaster struck, there was a sim dedicated to it, and raising funds. Within that sim was a fountain, with candles. You paid a linden (I think) and you could light a candle, and name it (the name would appear on the candle, or under it or arround it - can't remember exactly) to someone lost - and then you could click it, and it rose up high into the heavens so to speak, and faded away. It was a really beautiful way of memorialising someone, or something. I was just wondering if there was still something like this in SL?

  10. Thank you - it was under Network and Cache - but got it - thank you for pointing me in the right direction!!!
  11. I have save IM files to computer checked (or whatever it says) in Firestorm, but I can't seem to find the files on the computer. How can I find out where they are saved?
  12. Well, LL has sorted some of the problems out, and we are still working on others. It's been a long day! Yes... I KNOW!... I screwed up big time! Thanks for letting me know. However, I want to make it clear that I did not at any time, log into this page nor did I enter any password! And according to LL, worryingly, that isn't actually necessary at all. I clicked on the link inworld, where I was already logged in, and the moment I did that, I that gave them all the access they needed, as I was already logged in (or something) the Lady had a very strong American accent, and I missed some of what she said. The lady said that it was the same sort of thing that is emailed to people, as a single link, that spreads virus's and malwares.... and yes I have run virus scans and malware checks on my computer from the early hours of the morning. I had a very bad day yesterday. I was very unfocused, and had been in tears shortly before clicking. I completely mis-read the URL, and made a mistake. That was all. It doesn't make me an idiot, as some seem to imply here. I am a bit surprised at that to be honest, as when I wrote the email, I simply wanted to warn others, and quickly, so I sent it to my friend to distribute here, I was even more upset (obviously) and I have Aspergers with the inability to summerise, so I understand it does tend to waffle on a lot, but that is what happened and in the order that it happened ...its just very wordy...which is just what I do. Sorry. I wanted my friend to post it, mainly as a warning to others. That was all. If this all just stops one other person from clicking, then its all good. If it only brings to attention the type of link to be wary of, in SL or elsewhere, then to me, that too is good. And hopefully then, something good should come out of my silly mistake! Don't click on links IS common sense, but I have had real contact from several friends now, where some also clicked, simply because their first reaction was "oh its from Jinny so it's ok". It IS a simple error. That is all. The friend who sent me the link (as she was hacked too) has a Marketplace store, and when she puts in new stuff, and links me to see it, and it's only sent to me during a conversation. We had been having a conversation, with a usual slow response time, if someone is caught in IMs, literally a minute before.... I simply didn't read the link, and clicked as I made an assumption about it. I only saw the first part of the URL, and stupidly could have sworn it just said MarketplaceSecondlife - it was only when I saw it here - I thought "DARN IT!". And while I appreciate that it started a discussion amongst people, it was hardly worthy of some of the harsh and judging tones I have sensed coming from some posters, IMO. Anyway - Banking and clearing my bank account: They didn't have the full bank number, but they used my avatar, to transfer all the Lindens into their AV, as per below: 08/14/2013 - 16:55:39 - Destination: minimi Botha - Gift - Region: Aqua L$***,*** 08/14/2013 - 16:53:01 - Destination: minimi Botha - Gift - Region: Aqua L$*** 08/14/2013 - 16:51:14 - Destination: minimi Botha - Gift - Region: Aqua L$*** and bought more, in several smaller amounts until my RL bank was drained. I did not (Do now!) have a seperate LL bank account. All this happened super fast, and the account was frozen in approx 3 - 5 minutes. Once they had hit several decline transaction messages, they changed my account email and that was that..... and that was when I was either on the phone to the bank questioning the texts (as they didn't have my cell on their system) and I wanted to check all was ok, trying to log in, cursing (mistakenly for once) my super dodgy internet connection, ooorrr that was while I was desperately searching for a telephone number for LL to call, and struggling to find it instantly, all made a little harder, because I was in a little bit of a state of alarm at the chilling realisation that I had done what I had lived my entire internet life without doing - getting phished. Like I said - the whirlwind of actually damage was just a couple of minutes, but will take a while to fully resolve. The details on file: LL have confirmed that they did indeed have both my phone numbers on file in my account, and yes - because of the type of Card registered, they also knew what bank it was registered too. The phishing would have obtained these details, and LL argued that on the balance of probability, the SMS messages were sent automatically, to phish for other details, or cell phone useage. 2 friends of mine who also clicked, also had SMS Messages. There have been 3 scam telephone numbers with automated nessages claiming they are from my bank, calling both phones regularly since all this happened last night, and if we don't pick up, it goes to voicemail. The numbers calling are: 0044 20 70710188, and 0845 351 2262, and also 01228 830 132..... DO NOT CALL THESE NUMBERS!!!!!! Lol. I have been instructed to by LL, and have done, report the whole thing to : http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report-a-fraud-including-online-crime-questions as real life money was taken, albeit through SL's website, and the bank wanted a Crime Reference Number. Drama sort of resolved!... and yes - lesson learnt! If anyone has any questions that they wish to ask me directly, please feel free to IM me inworld, or post here. But what I would really like to say is THANK YOU AARLA!!!!!! You have been a wonderful support ,and you are a fab friend. Thank you for fighting my corner here!!!!! xxxxxx
  13. I logged in to see many of my group members had sent me the same message and urged me to spread it through my group - ... Im usually quite skeptical, but thought I'd check here as I've not seen this one before, so everyone - scam or not???: "Warning ! ! There is a "new" script out that when you TP to a sim it says there's something wrong wrong with your viewer and tells you to click on a link otherwise you'll be damaging the sims server.. It is a scam to get your computers ID, your RL name and address, along with your IP address. Just tp out, DO NOT CLICK the link....." What are your thoughts? Thanks.
  14. Jacki is a Superstar!!!!!!!!! She contacted me inworld so fast, and offered to help - and gave me loads of tips too! What a star!!!! Thank you sooooo very much!!!! xxxxxxx
  15. I logged on to find a neighbour - in modifying her land, flooded mine. So I spent a while adjusting it so we can both be happy. In the meantime, my computer is dying and the screen flashes black - and i discovered by thumping it - it clears, so there must be a lose connection. I just thumped my computer - the screen came back to life, only for me to see what I thought was my AV glitching out - but the land was changing, and then I noticed the revert blob checked in the edit terrain box, and I think it made it do that when I thumped the computer! :( Is there a way to undo the damage? Or do I have to start from scratch? - all my stuff is there - just swallowed up.
  16. I know privacy isn't in existance in SL - I think I was just surprised how people cammed in on the couple at that distance, and such visual clarity, and wondered if there was anything that could be done to prevent that - but you've all answered that beautifully. Lol. Thank you. I think I will just IM the couple involved and give them a heads up, in case they were as oblivious to Radar as I was. Lol. Thanks for the replies.
  17. I use a very old Phoenix Viewer, on an even older computer. I have had people talking about Radar to me for a while, but it's all passed me by, until yesterday. Someone important in the Sim, was seen using Radar in his own skybox, at approximately 3000 feet up, on the far side of the Sim, engaged intimately with another woman. Personally - it's nothing to do with me, but I got repeated reports, from Sim regulars, as there was concern for the feelings of a friend of mine who is interested him. I even got given snapshots, which after the first one - I deleted and refused any others. All taken using the Radar thing. I found this highly invasive, and told off all concerned, as it was consential and nothing to do with anyone - but this Radar thing made it all public. I am actually quite surprised by it all. I realise that there is, and has never really been, any real privacy in SL - but why on earth would you even need this feature? And is there a way to stop its action?
  18. Hosting is a hard job. There are some naturally gifted, and others not so. I believe that all hosts should be told what each place expects of them, and then gently encourage them to follow that guideline. I love hosting, while I am a Manager - I do a lot of host work too, but a recent industrial accident, which has left me RL struggling, has made me realise that my mood in RL has affected my SL energy, and so recognising my drop in mood and ability to be upbeat, I rely more on our current hosts currently. For us - Finding good hosts too is hard. I find a lot of hosts in clubs I have visited, are reliant on sexual terms - especially when being tipped, which as a mature, but clean in language and behaviour, hangout and club, I often lose hosts because they want to be more sexual in nature as this gets more tips. We don't spam with overly large gestures, which is a no no in our place, or group notes. And we've been here for 9yrs now, so we are doing something right. We operate a completely flexible shift pattern, as we can't afford to pay staff - so I feel I don't have the right to tie them down, but they have their tip jars, and we encourage them to use them. We have guidelines on spamming and such like - and I just want our staff to have a good night with us, so it doesn't feel like work. SL is meant to be fun too. And so far, the hosts that have stayed with us have become more like family, and have become RL friends too, and have been with us for years. On a side note - if anyone wants to come on over and host, or be taught the basics of good hosting, drop me an IM inworld, and come and hang out. When artists come and dj or sing for us - I promote them for a week before, and encourage people to tip them, as we have found that the more sexualised SL has become, the harder we have to work for tips as a non-sexual club - and in turn, I hope they will point out our Venue tip jar, and the merchants on the sim, and we ask them to engage with the people coming in, via typing or voice. This isn't always the case, which is sad, and they walk away with 100% of their tips, while the hosts get little to nothing. These Djs get 3 chances with us, to help us out. We've been lucky so far, but good DJs are also hard to find, especially in our type of music selections. The other issue I've encountered, are people themselves. I often try and initiate conversation that isn't sexual in our club - only to get guys trying it on with me, or them going straight into IMs, or I do not get a response at all. This is fine, and I do my best to engage in main chat, but sometimes people just have their own reasons for not replying. Either way - I love our club, our staff, and our guests deeply, and am passionate about SL..... and because of the message our staff send out, and our long term guests promote - I hope that we will be around for many years to come.
  19. Sadly, I have zero budget to spare. I was long term unemployed due to illness, so SL was my outlet and escape. Then after a hard slog of looking for work for over 2yrs, I finally got a job, and was in it for 8weeks, only to have an industrial accident in December, which has left me unable to walk properly, and has made me disabled. There is no compensation to be claimed, due to the circumstances and a change in UK law regarding compensation claims - and the company fired me for 'lack of attendance' in spite of hospital and medical letters, leaving me with no income whatsoever. So basically - even for $10 I couldn't afford a new computer right now. Thank God the internet is a gift from my brother! I often wish I were a smoker or drinker, so I could give it up and reallocate spare cash - but I'm not. Lol. Ah well - I have faith.... LL don't let me down, on the giving me a new computer thing!!!! LMAO!
  20. I have tried to run Cool Viewer - I saw Mesh! ..... and then crashed out..repeatedly..... and then ran out of virtual memory......and crashed..... and couldn't tp........ But - I SAW MESH!!!!!! I will definately keep checking up on that one, as it looked so good. And I don't mean that sarcastically - Thank you !!!!
  21. Thank you - but the computer issues bought up here are still very helpful. So I don't mind at all. I am a larger build AV - I'm a large person in RL and I wanted to be me in SL. I manage and work on a Sim that started out predominantly as a place for bigger people, but has evolved into a clean hangout sim of acceptance and respect. One of the comments I repeatedly hear is that they can't get Mesh to fit properly - and the problem is even worse than it was before for people in our community now...either that or I'm just getting more comments about it. Well - in my current non-mesh world, it doesn't affect me directly so much - but that shall no doubt be another delightful SL adventure whenever I resolve my own technical issues. I still am hoping that LL will buy me a new computer! Lol
